This is the best workflow overview. My problem with Orb is that you can’t really say to Orb what kind of “mood you want to compose”. Not knowing theory I am challenged in picking the right chord keys. I find Orb superior in the workflow but Scaler 2 gives you want you need and might have in mind. Scaler 2 though is not as intuitive.
Sorry for the delay in response, and yes, you are correct. You can search by moods in scaler. A quick work around is to Google "sad chords" or "happy cjords" and you usually get some suggestions there.as starting points Or you can use scaler as a reference and then use the chords from there is Orb. All the best!
Great tutorial explained everything perfectly . but i think u have missed to show the tonality option in the plugin whererin you can select the Key of our choice to start the song .
Depends what you wanna do.. if you wanna make a song real fast, Captain, if you wanna come up with a cool lead Orb,, if your looking for best chord progressions Scaler, but of course all can do everything. There are also other tools out there that can do the same thing and now Ableton has midi transformation tools that are mind blowing soooo....

Hey! I may have discussed this in another one of my Orb tutorials, basically what I did was find vocals, the key for vocals and then build the song around that key (rather than the other way round).
Thanks for taking the time on making this video tutorial. Although, I am getting very frustrated with the Orb Producer 3 plugins when trying to use them. The biggest thing is why is there the synth in each of the modules, but you can't use the synth sound (drag sample over to DAW). I just checked the Orb website and it is another $150 for the Orb synth that is already built into the Orb Producer. Is it that Orb wants to make extra money? With Captain Epic, you can drag the sample over. Not just the MIDI. Or am I missing something? I have looked at your video, the Orb website (although the FAW site now says 403 forbidden) and other RUclips videos and none of them show being able to drag the sound sample to the DAW. Only MIDI. And the big issue is that by the time you find the right synth or sound for the MIDI, everything sounds like crap when you finish the bars. UGH.
the Orb synth included is a cut down version of Orb X which is the full product and has more features than in the Orb Producer. Its a full synth, so I dont think they want to just give it away with Orb, but yes they give you a cut down version and if you like it you can buy the full synth. Captain Epic do something similar with phaseplant, they include a cut down version for free. In terms of dragging audio, yes Epic does that and I think Orb does not, I will contact them to see if they can add the feature.
@@vxd thanks. Let the community know. I tried to record the audio while the plugin was running and that didn't work either. For me, it's easier to drag the audio after tweaking the parameters, then spice it up via neutron 4. Rather than spend hours looking for sounds for each MIDI.
Hey, so I contacted them and asked them to add it as a feature. In the meantime, it is really quick and easy to convert the midi to audio, I made a video about it, so hopefully that helps! Check it out! ruclips.net/user/shortsNMBJKQv7ozk?feature=share

Ok I'll keep that in mind for the next video which I'm hoping to do soon
great! the best workflow i found is to mute every orb synth, and route each midi track to use directly my favourite ableton instruments
Orb has some nice synths, but yeah, this is something I do quite a bit too 😀
Scaler. Orb or captain or? To take upload my old song and finish it by adding matching ai or ? With drums and bass? Fast, easy, smart way?

No worries!

That's sad to hear 😞 I haven't updated recently
@@vxd beware if you do ;)
Is there a way to make the chords 2 bars of length instead of the standard 1 bar?
sorry for the delay, yeah just add extra chords and see them on the second page
thanks man 🤘
No problem 😊
Nice one. Can you make a video to match chords on vocals ? Like matching the key scale and also the chords according to the Acapella using ORB?

this is the video, I take the key of the vocals and build a song around that ruclips.net/video/5echIKFPGxc/видео.html
Nice plugin! is it possible to plug in other plugins like Hive or Diva etc.
Yes you can use other plugins!

Has anyone tried it in fl studio ?
so i dont use FL studio, but Im sure it would work the same way as Ableton.
