Thanks for watching! If you are wondering where I've been for the past 3 weeks, Adobe's Creative Cloud decided to delete all my files out of nowhere so I had to re-do everything. Also, I've been playing games more and decided that I'm going to start streaming. I won't be particular to 1 game, since I like all genres, so I'll be streaming everything and maybe even doing "just chatting" every once in a while. I also have no schedule and will just go live whenever I feel like. Come join! www.twitch.tv/bijanjamshidi
Good friends I have a big doubt between the dell s2721dfg and the msi mag274qrf- no qd. I do not know which monitor to keep what one has, the other does not have it, the dell is very good in profiles but it is much less bright and the color is darker than the msi ... could you help me I am a warzone player and csgo thanks and a greeting.
which monitor to choose advise 32GQ850-B or LG UltraGear 32GP850, as well as LG UltraGear 32GP750 and there is also LG UltraGear 32GP83B-B, I'm confused between them, professional work with color, photo and video is important for me, as well as playing and watching movies. I really like your content and professional approach to business. Thanks for the reviews.
About the amazon returns, the thing with panels (especially IPS) is that people return them because they have too much (not acceptable) IPS glow/bleed. Keep that in mind.
Which is why i pick VA for these type of panels unless the IPS has FALD of some sort IPS within this range has low contrast , and backlight bleed so the 2 doesn't mix at all
As I watch this review on the same monitor after reading other reviews. This review is the best one and solidified the purchase even more. Well worth the wait for it to be back in stock at msrp!
Bought mine in January for work, gaming on watching content. I love it. 21:9 is a sweet spot. Colors are amazing. Stand sucks, but I put it on a wall mounted arm. Would recommend and buy again without hesitation.
You asked why min brightness is important, let me help: Min brightness is required because most of us do not use the monitor only during day time when the room is fully lit by the sun coming from the open window. most of us work in partially shadowed room or at evening when no light at all, maybe a small reading lamp at the side no more than that. and with those low light conditions we usually want between 40-60 cd m2 = 40-60 nits of monitor luminance. Now, if a monitor is some garbage marketing HDR that can do whopping 600 plus nits, and there for cannot do below 120 nits min, than this monitor is useless for us. 120 nits is over bright at dark rooms or at night usage. night usage and dark rooms need 40-60 nits in order not to blind the user.
Great review, I appreciate how much detail you went into. And the super smooth transition to hand-held cam when showing viewing angles was a really nice touch.
Glad to see you review this. I was really consider getting this but my main issue is the only 1 year warranty and dead/bright pixel return policy. A lot of reviewers never mention stuff like this but for me they really factor into my decision making. For a high-end monitor like this I would expect a lot better. Dell (AW models) offers a much better 3 year warranty and a 0 bright pixel guarantee.
17:16 to answer your question of why someone would want wide viewing angles. I share an office and sometimes I want to show the other person what I have on the screen right now to get the correct coloring they have to get up and move to be besides me or I have to move my moniter to angle it towards them and then re-aline it with my other moniter both ways are just inconvenient and with a wider viewing angle I won't have to worry about the colors not showing right
I got the Acer XR343CK P (the LG was not available in my country), both share the same panel/performance. So for anyone hunting this ultrawide, be on the lookout for this Acer. The same panel is on the Acer Predator X34GS too (and probably the upcoming Benq EX3415R), just be mindful that the predator is certified gsync compatible but has issues with AMD cards with freesync enabled. The XR343CK is freesync premium certified (not gsync certified), but I have no issues on my 2060 Super with gsync active.
I bought this monitor a few months ago and put my 27GN850 next to it. It's been a dream setup for gaming, watching movies, or doing both at the same time.
I bought this monitor back in Black Friday weekend 2020 for 800 (850 was the going rate at the time). I saw the review from a different channel at that time, but noted this is a GN850 copy...just with less display ports, no power hub in the rear...or something to that nature. Still, it is refreshing to see your content praising this monitor and am very glad I got this monitor. Thank you for the great content, keep up the good work! (
Thanks for the video ... I just bought this monitor to go with my Mac mini pro. I also tried your icm profile and it was a little to blue for me but I appreciate you letting us try your profile.
Hi, thanks for the review althought this product is barely available even worlwide and much more expensive than what you said in video, $1.166 at Amazon right now and this unfortunately reduces it price/performance ratio. Secondly, I'd like to answer your question @12:50 as a computer programmer - software/web developer who is spending his 10-14 hours a day in front of a monitor. Well, it's called migraine. When it hits, looking at the monitor hurts my eyes and I go to darkest mode (it's Text mode in my monitor) to prevent more headache.
I don't speak for everyone, but here are 2 possible answers I have for your 2 questions: Q1 (12:48): Motivation to know minimum brightness. Ans: I actually have my monitor set to 0 brightness and sometimes it still strains my eyes if certain websites or programs do not have a dark mode for reading. So, for some people, that could be why they want to compare minimum brightness (it was good for me to know too, cause that makes me more keen to actually get this monitor). Q2 (17:17): Why would people want a monitor with great viewing angles. Ans: Not a personal experience, but I have a friend who can't afford a monitor arm nor does he have a sit-stand desk (basically he doesn't have an ergo setup) so the terrible viewing angles do become noticable for him. Then again, the monitor he got (with terrible viewing angles) did not have much tilt/height adjustment so it could be a combination of 2 things becoming an issue instead. So yeah, those are just some of the considerations that came to mind. Hopefully it helps.
I appreciate the review. I am still stuck on getting the G9 at some point in my life, lol. I am so enamored with the size and the performance. Of course, the backlight bleed being the only issue. I think this one from LG would definitely be in my top 5 maybe top 3 if I didn't already have the G7
@@BijanJamshidi I got it and returned it. The "thought" of it was consuming. However, the reality of it and the sacrifices you make were to much. I would agree.
Minimum brightness is really, really important for me. I have cluster headaches. And brightness can trigger headaches for me, especially abrupt changes in brightness. Since I’m mostly using my pc as a student these days, I really need low brightness and a reader mode to avoid migraines caused by light. Most of my work is done on Google docs and proprietary university websites, so no dark mode.
I have this monitor as 34GN850, I think that's the previous name? Low input lag, great colors on nano IPS, high refresh. Love it! I wish I have the 38in now lol.
you are correct that monitors do not need wide viewing angles, because a monitor is always used when the user is directly in front of it. the viewing angel issue is relevant only for TV's where in the room there are multiple viewers, watching at the same time each from a different angle on the couch.
Nah, it's good to know all the specs of a monitor. And for certain types like VA or TN you get really ugly color shifts when moving slightly off center or looking at thing in distant corners of the screen.
we want viewing angles because its more aesthetically pleasing in a room and maybe have to keep an eye on something on the screen when away from the desk, when your are walking around and when your have friends or showing something to someone off the desk.
So I did a ufo ghost test on my 1ms lg monitor and compared it to my old rog pg279q, the picture was noticeably less blurry compared to the asus monitor, even though the asus had an 165hz oc compared to the LPG’s 160hz. The lg won that handily
I tried my luck with buying this monitor from amazon warehouse... I ended up getting a panel with dead/stuck pixels, and some pretty bad backlight bleed. I don't even know how that monitor made it past QC. I returned it and just bought a brand new one. The new one is pretty much perfect.

@@BijanJamshidi Yeh i got a C2 upgrade from my MSR, but i want to make sure i get my MSR name next week so may just hold on to the Upgrade and buy another MSR after i get all the hardware upgrades :3 it's good to know the tech community love this game too. seeing you guys all play with morphologist was top kek memes. monitors are hard to get the right one, I upgraded recently to a asus vg32vq1b and asus have revised it to the 1br which supports 10bit color now. I was pissed but i did get dying light 2 for free/.
Just ordered one for 27% off on black Friday. Got the Samsung G7 but it's got a dead sub pixel. Shows red, blue, black but turns red on a white background and green background. It's not in an obvious spot but got the money it should be perfect.
I love the lg series with nano tech. Picture is vibrant and clear. I just got the mobius ex2510 for shooters and I use the 850-b for other. I'm considering sticking with the lg but the shooters might just be better on the smaller monitor.
I purchased 9 LG 38 (GL950, and GN95b)and 1 LG 34 (this one). And it’s crazy how bad the panel uniformity is. Really struggling with doing ultrawide due to this.
Torn between this monitor or the VIOTEK GNV34DBE2 34-Inch. Both have similar specifications. However, the Viotek is $379, free shipping, and No tax shipped directly from Viotek. What makes me lean toward Viotek is their 3-year warranty and get this....They actually answered the phone on the 2nd ring. Try that with LG...nope....email only. I have an older VIOTEK 32 1080p and it's been rock solid. (monitor is for my 16 year old son) Any comments would be appreciatd.
I dont know how you feel about the LG CX 48” as a monitor... but i would love to hear your opinion. Or even wait a little and review the c1 when its out
I LOVE 4K and OLED, but I feel 48 inches is just too big for me as a monitor. I'm waiting for maybe a 34 inch (Or anything around that size) OLED monitor which may make me get rid of my newly purchased 38GN950...
@@BijanJamshidi thx fot taking the time to answer. I totally agree... it is too big. But with a limited budget and space, 1 monitor to rule them all might be a smart solution for me. Because it can be my main, even if i have to reduce de size of the window i am working. But when i am just watching a movie or playing a console exclusive, i can kick back and enjoy the larger size. As an oled, the black bars from the unused space wont bother that much. It not the perfect solution. I would love a 40-42” version... but for an all-purpose screen, i think it is an option worth considering
Yeah. It's ips glow. The only game I notice the glow in is witcher 3, due to typically darker color way the game uses. Cyberpunk looks just perfect though
Sorry to bug you but hands on heart what do you think off the ASUS CG 32UQ 4K even though it’s only 2.HDI as I’m only a console gamer and play sports sims but watch movies a lot it’s a few a BoB well £800 English ponds on the PS5 I’ve Hurd 60hz is good a present because the developers won’t be ready for another for five years running 4K 120hz only on select to games I’m asking you because your a big gamer and say what it is that’s why your channel is great and growing thank you for time JJ across the pond London uk

7:26 This is the reason I don't play multiplayer. Because i play games for fun and want them to look good. I don't want a game to look bad just to be able to win, ruins the experience of playing.
Got it for 650$ brand new on sale! what's the best 'game mode' color? Fast is the best overdrive so far. HDR at 80 on Windows, Brightness to 90, overdrive fast, 144hz and game mode 2. Don't know how to calibrate it manually without losing HDR
Okay can someone help me out? I bought this monitor, and spend literal days playing with the settings and trying to tweak them because out of the box the panel is yellowish. I also own an ASUS vg34, same monitor specs except it’s a VA. The problem is I CANNOT get this monitor to look as good as that VA panel, I got very close but I wouldn’t say this nano IPS is miles ahead. So I’m confused by this video and it’s claims, but I’m further confused because this LG should be destroying my ASUS with a VA. Any insight from anyone who understands this?
I had the same issue. Easy fix for me was deleting the current driver my computer downloaded for my monitors “which wasn’t the lg’s driver” and downloaded the actual monitors driver off LG’s website and it fixed my yellow nasty hue right away. I’ve never had a monitors driver cause issues for me and thought they all worked on the same driver but with this lg panel it actually needs the lg driver. Hope this helps 💯
How do you mange the sphere led light of LG 34GN85B. I can't find a software to download nor my monitor Menu has an enabled "power LED" feature under general !!
Amazon Warehouse, in my experience, is a gamble. I returned one item (blu-ray player), and it apparently dropped off the face of the Earth. They refused to refund, and I foolishly didn't chargeback on my card, so I was S.O.L. On the flip side, I returned a bike lock I ordered that didn't come with a key (i.e. a paperweight), and I had no problem in the return process. So experiences vary, but again, it's a gamble.
Had this monitor for a couple weeks. Made me upgrade to the Alienware AW3821DW. The LG is great though. Did everything as advertised, dimming was decent, blacks were good, colours were awesome. Didn't flex my 3090 enough though, and the stand not having a swivel ability is really.. awful. But hey if you have a 3070/3080 this monitor is a no-brainer. Amazon Canada has it now too for anyone this side of the border.
Hey bro, do you mind sharing your OSD settings to go with the ICC profile, i think i have installed it correctly, but i wonder what OSD settings to use with it!
Man im reeally hoping i can get some feedback from you on this. I ordered this monitor and its on its way, but I'm also looking at the 38 inch version, and I'm wondering if the 360 euro upgrade is worth the money. I guess its a very personal thing aswell, its like 50 says go 34 and the other says go 38. I do find that my current 34 inch 1080p ultrawide fills my peripheral vision nicely. I have a 3080 so both shouldn't really be a problem, what do you think? it will be primarily used for media consumption, UX/UI Design and FPS gaming.
Agree, but IPS is IPS. Despite the low contrast though, it still does produce decent blacks and highlights. It's much better than the numbers lead to believe.
Minimum brightness matters to me because unfortunately I dont have a lot of desk real estate so I sit very close to the monitor, also I am very used to using dim screens because I have poor defenses against eye strain.
Hi Bijan, I am looking for photo/video editing. On the monitor OSD, I do not see any Professional presets ( SRGB, DCI P3)? All I see is Gamer settings. This monitor supports DCI-P3 98%. What mode should be selected for photo/video editing?.
My 16:9 is the Dell S2721DGF... I just bought this monitor, it's on the way. Is the HDR on this ultrawide atleast marginally better than SDR? Is it worth turning on in any scenario?
What do you think about ASUS TUF Gaming VG34VQL1B? According to RTNGS it has highest points in Gaming and Mixed usage (34" ultrawides) and with price 499 USD it looks like a good deal.
The monitor also fit for work, reading, a lot of RUclips and TV shows? The curved monitor will not be annoying for the things i mention before? Flat monitor is more recommended to what i am looking for?
I am excited on the 38“ review, will you compare it to the Alienware 38“? 21:9 will definitely come with my next PC, so I really enjoy your awesome & accurate Reviews.
i got this monitor last week, but had to return the next day, had a bad unit, the screen was having a blinking problem even when not gaming, even unplugged the display cable from the pc and still would blink on the lost signal screen, so i assumed it was a screen issue, still waiting on my refund so i can buy it again an take a chance with it, so im back to using my benq 27' 1080p at 60hz monitor. all i can do is wait.
Would this work if I want to use this monitor to game but then also use with my MacBook Pro that I use from work? I want to use this for work and gaming with my gaming PC?
THAT'S why Best Buy's TVs all look TERRIBLE!? They think people LIKE that!? These are the best monitor reviews by the way. Wish I'd seen this one a few days ago before I bought an MSI. Didn't know the MSRP on this was so low.
okay where is this "Color Vibrance" feature? I've had this monitor for a month and I can't seem to find any such feature... I play a lot of Escape from Tarkov and the black equilizer is great but I can't find any "color Vibrance" feature in the OSD... Please help.
JUST GOT MINE! Looks like I have a panel winner with zero dead pixels and very minimal glow/bleed (some marginal brightness on the edges). I realize u can't overclock this thing and use 10 bit colour simultaneously. My question for you Bijan is: 160hz+8 bit or 144hz+10 bit?
Difference between 160Hz and 144Hz is so minimal that I'd choose 10bit even if I won't notice it on the daily. Plus, overclocking MIGHT kill the monitor prematurely. Not sure if it does.
@@BijanJamshidi Have to return it anyway. Passed all my normal tests...but then I noticed strange lines of intermittent flickering left of center in-game...
This is not a true 10 bit panel, and few applications support 10 bit color. Go with 160Hz, you feel it immediately and higher refresh rate > lower refresh rate.
I had this monitor recently but it had a display port issue and too much back light bleed so I, returned it. Ended up getting a AW3821DW which was on sale... For $86 more! Bigger and so much better. You reviewed that monitor too but didn't review it as favorably?
@@BijanJamshidi Not exactly, I'm in Australia, so we get ripped off here, but the conversion from US is a little different too. I got it for $1,686 (already back to $2,248.99 as of this comment, just checked) I got the LG for $1,599.. I lied, I payed $1 more than I previously said!

@@BijanJamshidi Yeh i got a C2 upgrade from my MSR, but i want to make sure i get my MSR name next week so may just hold on to the Upgrade and buy another MSR after i get all the hardware upgrades :3
it's good to know the tech community love this game too.
seeing you guys all play with morphologist was top kek memes.
monitors are hard to get the right one, I upgraded recently to a asus vg32vq1b and asus have revised it to the 1br which supports 10bit color now. I was pissed but i did get dying light 2 for free/.
Just bought this monitor from Amazon Warehouse Deals for $960 CAD. Playing games in 21:9 is eye-opening
This is a really damn good video.
I purchased 9 LG 38 (GL950, and GN95b)and 1 LG 34 (this one). And it’s crazy how bad the panel uniformity is. Really struggling with doing ultrawide due to this.
I need the predator x34 (2021) review, at least in paper looks great.
Any plans on reviewing the Samsung G9? I can't wait for the compare between the G9 and AW3821DW (loved your review, BTW!!!)
@@BijanJamshidi there will be LG C1 oled 42” this year. Already announced. 32” oled monitor is not for gamers.
Great channel. I've been thinking about either this one, or the brand new Acer Predator X34 GS. You should review the x34 GS next pls.
If you've just tried the 21:9 and love it, give 32:9 a go. The Odyssey G9 is amazing.
Good vid, good presentation
I have this moniter currently I been thinking about getting the 38 inch model
I have the 27 inch and I use the software OSD without any problems. I also got a 3080 and I have no idea why it does that for you ngl.
Man it's hard to keep up my enthusiasm towards tech when being at bottom of the economic cycle,
Great review as always 👍,
Another one to make my list of great monitor 😜.. someday
7:26 This is the reason I don't play multiplayer. Because i play games for fun and want them to look good. I don't want a game to look bad just to be able to win, ruins the experience of playing.
I agree
Make a detailed post on Reddit with pictures. Someone way more knowledgeable than me will help you out 👍
I had the same issue.
Quality just goes 📈📈📈 with every video
🚀🚀🚀
Would you but this LG or the Asus XG349C? Can't decide.
Thanks for your help.
Nice video, one question would you compare Nano IPS non HDR colors to normal IPS HDR colors?
You need a 8k monitor to flex an extremely overpriced GPU that’s not meant for gaming.
@@TheSjuris yup. Sold the 3090 and got a ftw3 3080 Ti instead. Basically the same performance but freed up $500 for Scotch LOL
@@bretts7037 good decision.
I wait for miniled/microled. Ips wont give Hdr 1000nit and above and beside gaming I watch alot of hdr content.
great review
yo, is it still worth it buying the zowie xl2456 monitor nowadays? it is on sale here in germany for 400 euros
When i bought my VG278VE i bought it from warehouse, it came with 5 dead pixles tho but Asus took it back as an RTM and replaced it instantly.
Hey bro, do you mind sharing your OSD settings to go with the ICC profile, i think i have installed it correctly, but i wonder what OSD settings to use with it!
we need TRADING standers to step in and prevent any monitor lisiting 1ms if they need overdrive tech.
nano ips colours looks like on Oled TV.. btw what game is that you playing in space?
Man im reeally hoping i can get some feedback from you on this. I ordered this monitor and its on its way, but I'm also looking at the 38 inch version, and I'm wondering if the 360 euro upgrade is worth the money. I guess its a very personal thing aswell, its like 50 says go 34 and the other says go 38. I do find that my current 34 inch 1080p ultrawide fills my peripheral vision nicely.
I have a 3080 so both shouldn't really be a problem, what do you think? it will be primarily used for media consumption, UX/UI Design and FPS gaming.
All LG’s Nano IPS have low contrast. They need to improve that
Agree, but IPS is IPS. Despite the low contrast though, it still does produce decent blacks and highlights. It's much better than the numbers lead to believe.
That's technology limitations (ips)
Minimum brightness matters to me because unfortunately I dont have a lot of desk real estate so I sit very close to the monitor, also I am very used to using dim screens because I have poor defenses against eye strain.
What do you think about the VG27AQL1A? I think it’s a newer version of the VG27AQ
Haven't touched it yet.
Hi Bijan, I am looking for photo/video editing. On the monitor OSD, I do not see any Professional presets ( SRGB, DCI P3)? All I see is Gamer settings. This monitor supports DCI-P3 98%. What mode should be selected for photo/video editing?.
whats the curvature on this thing? i can't find anything online that is reliable... i've seen 1900R and 3800R
Hey Bijan! Have you checked out the Gigabyte M27Q yet? Would make a great video for a more budget friendly monitor plus the kvm switch is pretty neat.
Have you ever tested the electriq 27" QHD eiQ-27CVQHD165IFSGHLD as I have a limited budget.
Definitely comparing to the Alienware.
i got this monitor last week, but had to return the next day, had a bad unit, the screen was having a blinking problem even when not gaming, even unplugged the display cable from the pc and still would blink on the lost signal screen, so i assumed it was a screen issue, still waiting on my refund so i can buy it again an take a chance with it, so im back to using my benq 27' 1080p at 60hz monitor. all i can do is wait.
Nice LTT Shoutout :)
Would this work if I want to use this monitor to game but then also use with my MacBook Pro that I use from work? I want to use this for work and gaming with my gaming PC?
Hey what do you thinks is a better buy: this monitor or the aw3420dw
What do you think of this monitor compared to the Odyssey 7 32 inch? I’m torn between these 2 right now lol
THAT'S why Best Buy's TVs all look TERRIBLE!? They think people LIKE that!? These are the best monitor reviews by the way. Wish I'd seen this one a few days ago before I bought an MSI. Didn't know the MSRP on this was so low.
If this one and the artymis were the same price which one would you choose for casual gaming?
I will buy the artymis even though it does not have IPS.
okay where is this "Color Vibrance" feature? I've had this monitor for a month and I can't seem to find any such feature... I play a lot of Escape from Tarkov and the black equilizer is great but I can't find any "color Vibrance" feature in the OSD...
Please help.
JUST GOT MINE! Looks like I have a panel winner with zero dead pixels and very minimal glow/bleed (some marginal brightness on the edges).
I realize u can't overclock this thing and use 10 bit colour simultaneously.
My question for you Bijan is:
160hz+8 bit
or
144hz+10 bit?
Hold on.... So you're telling me... You got an AW3821DW for $886????!!!
I'll be revisiting the AW3821DW when I review the 38GN950.
@@BijanJamshidi And awesome! Looking forward to your next review!
