I have now watched your monitors reviews for a week and this is the monitor I went with based on your reviews. It should arrive in a week. I just wanted to say, your video quality and reviews are awesome. Cant wait to see this page blow up and be one of the top tech reviews on RUclips.
Hey all. Sorry for the late reply. I LOVE this monitor and will never go back to anything smaller. Picture quality is amazing. I can’t stress how happy I’ve been with this monitor.
I know this is a monitor video.... but I've been looking for a desk since I just moved, so if i may ask what desk is that? Or do you have any recommendations for desks! Thanks, love the content across all channels as always!
for whatever reason this monitor is going for $1000 on Amazon when I only paid $799 for mine. This monitor was the best purchase I ever made, I regret absolutely nothing. mine had no backlight bleed at all, I got a perfect flawless unit. The contrast ratio is actually worlds better than my Asus VG248QG which I swore was my fave, but thats no longer the case.
You forgot to mention you lose the 10bit capability when you overclock to 160hz....10bit only works at 144hz....the difference between 144 and 160hz is negligible...better to keep it at 144hz
LG has given me different vibes when it comes to screens. I have a TV and a 34" ultra wide monitor. Both have issues after warranty period. That's a nightmare because the amount of money one pay for their products is insane. And then when you have a problem with any of them you need to pay almost the exact amount to get them fixed. I gave up on LG for while in Brazil until the programmed obsolescence is over.
I just bought the last new one on amazon(only refurb on newegg) to go along with my custom prebuilt pc. Super excited with ryzen 9 3080ti ZX Gigabyte 670 mobo. I had 10 monitors in both retailers carts, your video pushed me to get this one. $821 tax included isnt bad for todays market. Really would like to tap into at least 4k for streaming/games but mostly looking forward to the ability to work on it as I sell cars online and it willl keep me on top of it all mwhahaha! lol.
Thanks for the review. I currently have a 34GK950F-B that is giving me issues. Like you mentioned in this video it is hard to find a monitor that can do both gaming and photo editing (photographer) without going into OLED now and be affordable. Do you still feel this monitor is a great pick in 2024? It seems like a little cheaper option then the one I currently have.
Thanks for the video … how does this LG stack up to the Dell S3422DWG? I need an all in one monitor (video/photo/gaming) but want to stay under $400 for my Mac mini. So many monitors out there … uggg… Thank you again
Only con I heard is that he said it has 400 nits but that HDR needs at least 700. Is this true? I've never seen or used HDR in my life so I wouldn't really know. I just got one myself as well
I have the samsung g7 right now and this monitor and I can't decide which one to keep. Love the ultrawide but the contrast on the g7 is amazing. Very hard decision tbh.
You will miss that contrast ratio 100% as well as the better HDR experience (This LG can only sustain about 400 nits for HDR). G7 is much easier to drive at 2560x1440.
@@nobody1194 okay, but what about the flickering that I read about in reddit so much while gaming and having fps at certain point? I saw videos of that making me run away from VA panels. What are you doing to overcome this?
I wish my console pushed 144hz..but as y'all know, 120hz is best they do.I have this exact monitor and I use it for my Xbox one X and PS4 pro. I love it. But I've noticed some white blurring around some objects and tearing? I've recorded what it's doing, adjusted the brightness down a bit and it helped. Still would probably appreciate this monitor more if I gamed on PC. Unless maybe I could get the settings just right. Nice video, thanks!
I'd probably return it if you're not on pc. Far as I know G sync doesn't work w/ console and don't think they can output ultrawide for most (all) games?

can someone help me with this as I purchased this monitor. I have a a predator ph315-53 laptop with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 graphics card. I hooked up with a HDMI cable, but only getting 80hz. will using the display port help me get to the 120-144 hz? If so, can I get recommendations of a display to HDMI adapter to use as my laptop does not have a display port. Thanks in advance!
I'm fairly new to PC, but is there a minimum GPU that you should use for said monitor? Or does that simply rely on so-and-so game? Just don't wanna get too much monitor, if my GPU can't push it... If that's a thing lol I do have plans to upgrade GPU, some time😅
It depends on the game, but I would feel comfortable with a 2080ti or equivalent at minimum. Think about 1080p 60fps, that's 124.4 million pixels being drawn every second. 3440x1440p at 144fps is 713 million pixels every second. Sure you could game at a lower refresh rate but to take advantage of the display you need some serious gpu power.

Can you use 160Hz OC and 10bit colors together? Or is it limited to 144Hz with 10bit?
Great question! You can only output 8 bit color when overclocked to 160Hz. 10 bit color can be enabled when it is at 144Hz.
10bit 144hz, 12bit 120hz max on dp 1.4 not seen a cut off for 8bit. Maybe someone else knows that.
