If the pickles turn out to soft and you want a little crunch all you do is cut off the ends before putting them in the jars, if you don’t want to eat the ends you can give the ends to your hens and watch them play tag haha

You are such an inspiration! My two cents-sent with love ❤️.
Remember your model’s manual is the best resource (find it online). Don’t overpack the jars because the heat must penetrate the center of the jar. When you take the jars out of the canner, do not tilt them. This may interfere with the sealing process. Placed them on a towel with space in between the jars. Leave the jars alone for 24 hours-don’t touch them. After that, you can remove the rings, and wipe off any stickiness, but not before- they may still be sealing. Don’t shake the jars right out of the canner, you might disrupt the sealing process.

Taquisha, not sure why this video came to me 9 days after it was uploaded, but all I can say is I’m proud of you. The fact that you canned raw packed chicken for the first time is impressive. Then you pickled green beans and cucumbers for the first time and moved on to dehydrated apples and apple cider vinegar. You topped everything off with the kombucha. I share your joy with you….. I canned my first anything in 2022. I started with apple sauce. Then pineapples. Next it was apple butter. At the end of my gardening season, I canned ketchup/BBQ sauce and peach hot with tomatoes, peppers and onions from my garden. Everything that I have canned to date has been water bath. I ordered and received my new electric pressure canner last week. I was going to try oven roasted chicken first, but you got me interested in trying the raw packed first. Thanks for sharing your awesome experience.

Love seeing people learning how to make their food last longer. I was raised on a dairy farm and we canned everything we could. Mother all canned meat in a wide mouth jar. I did also. I love love grounded meat. My kids loved canned deer meat. Cut it in cubes cooked it with onion and garlic let cool put it like you would pull pork. Put it n jar and salt ( we use wide mouth pints it comes out about a 1 1/2 lbs a pint jar) remember to weigh a jar before starting them weight it will food in it then after your done for your get a I deal about how much is in a jar when you go to cook with it.
When I was sick my boys could take a pint of deer meat and make pulled deer meat sandwiches.

Sister please don’t pack the chicken in the jar. It doesn’t cook through the chicken very good. Love y’all 😊 Yes it’s good not to use any water. And it’s good to have the space in the jar after you can it. ❤

if you add some water to your chicken...you will have more broth and your chicken will not be sitting high and dry at he top

Great job on all the food preserving. It really is fun and simple as long as you follow the guidelines. Just a tip tho, be careful if indeed you did leave your chicken in the canner overnight. That can cause something called "flat sour". Not toxic but very unpleasant tasting. Following NCHFP guidelines is best. Keep up the good work and happy canning!

Judy, great suggestion! Also, some lids become very difficult to open if left on overnight.
