Jordin tootoo 10 years sober today 🙏🏾
I’ve actually been to those places up north some nice people
He was an addict?
Good for him!
Fuckin inspiration! Good for him 👍
@@pkmnproper3319 yeah he suffered from depression after his brother kill d himself
Reason why Jordin Tootoo was not born in Nunavut, 1 Nunavut was not made yet until 1999, 2nd if you are pregnant in a community, you are sent down to with a place with better medical care
We was born in church Manitoba
Interesting. I wouldn't have considered that but it makes sense

When the Indians wanted their land back the white man said " you can have nune-of-it.

Quebec is a great hockey players maker.
Jean Beliveau
Maurice Richard
Patrick Roy
Martin Brodeur
Martin St louis
And one of quebecers have an unbreackable record.
Henry Richard. 11 stanley cuo as a player all with the same team
We will never see that again
defenetly true!
Lafleur cournoyer Savard Lecavalier Fleury damphousse Carbonneau Robitaille bossy potvin goulet so much guys
@@alexz6502 Simon Gagne my OG aha
but foreal at it 11th cup mans wasnt even that stoked anymore. the hype is gone at this point lmao
@@flipe125 im not sure about this. Winning is the absolute goal of sport.
Richard was a winner and he fought hard to get out of his brother shadow. That guy was a warrior. One of a kind.
next up: greatest hockey player from every postal code in north america
Greatest current player by blood type
😂
Soooo all Canadians
should've given an honorable mention to Maurice Richard for Quebec being the first to score 50 in a season and 500 in a career, having a trophy named after him and being the literal definition of a national Icon for us Quebecers, but Mario is 100% the greatest player to come from here.
I'd still put Rocket ahead of Mario... Different eras, yes, but the adversity (not downgrading cancer from Mario) that Mario had to go against wasn't even close to the adversity that Maurice had to go through (some players were on the ice just to try to injure or even hospitalize him). And the guy still outperformed everyone on the ice.
I agree with your choice of Wayne Gretsky from Ontario, from Canada, from the planet earth.
But you have to give honourable mention to a player as outstanding as Bobby Orr.
An incredible player, probably second to only Gretsky.
Ah i love being from Manitoba where we're known for next to nothing besides it being cold
Uhmm Jonathan Toews?? Guaranteed 1st ballot hall of famer. Plenty of other solid nhl players from MB.
@@darrionroberts4100 man i was just making fun of my home
@@boisvert45 I'm from MB too. Sure does get cold, life on the Prairies for ya.
man that logo is ugly
@@darrionroberts4100 I live in Alberta we got beef and hockey
When you mentioned brad Marchand for Nova Scotia I was happy man may be dirty but he’s criminally underrated
As an european I totally agree with you, regardless of what sport we are considering - a ”dirty” player can still be extremely talented
Fucking hate him, but have to admit he's great
Wayne Gretzkys childhood home is actually 10 minutes from me! In Brantford, ON he has his own sports Center with a statue of him with the cup
Mercer and Newhook are exciting prospects from our province and I hope to see them compete and battle it out for the greatest from the province throughout there careers
What province?
@@birdiec Newfoundland
Great video!! In Quebec, I would have given an honorable mention to Martin Brodeur or Patrick Roy though. After all, they are the 2 greatest goalies of all time. I also feel that they have changed the game forever, especially Roy with his butterfly technique (let's face it, no one will ever break Gretzky's records mainly because goalies have become so good).
Imho Dominik Hasek is the GOAT when it comes to goalies but still good point
Have you ever considered doing a greatest player for every number? You could do it in parts: 1-30, 31-60, 61-99. I mean some numbers are fairly obvious, but it be cool to see whod you come up with.
You can't believe any other country could argue to own this sport after watching this video. Players like Jean Beliveau, Maurice Richard, Joe Sakic, Patrick Roy, Martin Brodeur, Bobby Orr or Phil Esposito would definitely be in the conversation for "best player of all time from a specific country" if they had been born elsewhere, yet they weren't even the best players of their respective provinces. Most of them weren't even mentioned. The pool of talent is, or at least was amazing.
Solid list. Some territories have some catching up to do tho. ;)
It's interesting to note the best players from BC are also the best GMs in the NHL right now.
Can't wait to see how Steevie Why will whip up the Wings into shape...
Edit: Have you tried to rank the best hockey players from each Oblast?
I think Lemieux is great of course. But as a Habs fan, Maurice Rocket Richard needed one helluva honorable mention!! The guy is a timeless legend..
I would also think Lafleur is a huge one. May he rest in peace.
Video idea: Greatest nhl player from every state, country, providence non hall of fame
2 things: 1, the wild suck, 2, that would be a great idea
I know I’m still a loyal fan though and things might be changing if kaprisov and fiala play well
@@Septicat-th5mz I think Rossi might win the Calder, I like the wild.
@@sportskids1541 I agree
providence?
Bobby Clarke is the reason most of us ever heard of Flin Flon Manitoba
Reggie leach!
Best Player from Quebec: The 'Pocket Rocket' (Henri Richard) gets my vote. With 11 Stanley Cups to his name and a Stanley Cup Ring on ALL fingers, with one on his pinkie toe.
Most Stanly Cup don't mean best player. Gilbert Perreaut, Marcel Dionne, Mike Bossy, Ray Bourque are better players. If he had played for LA or St-Louis at the time, you would not mention his name.
@@dextrosebizarre 3 out of the 4 player you just named are from Quebec. Hope you know that at least.
@@messyl1900 Les 4!
Ceci dit, Pocket Rocket a sans aucun doute permis aux Canadiens de gagner le match 7 contre les Hawks en finale de la Coupe Stanley en 1971. It's a great achievement. A great leader, a great captain.
I think Alex Newhook could break our record eventually, buddy's got an awful set of hands on him
Think mercer will be better but I don't know
The both good newfies are awesome
Good list agree with them all .. I like Sakic over Stevie Y only because Stevie Y spent a lot of time in Napean But I do hear you when it says where you where born but very good list I like these a lot nice work
How about the best goalies from every province? Or even country if you have the time. Would love to see it! Thanks!
Dylan Cozens was born in Yukon so he will most likely take over that record
Great video, i wish you could have shown a small list for some of the provinces with larger group of top players.
I would love to see a "greatest goalie list" for each province/territory, and each country overall.
Yay!!! I'm the 84th like past the goal!!! Can't wait for the states video!!! I hope Konowalchuk is recognised as the best from Utah because I played with him(we were close friends!!! Our families went camping together a lot, too!!!) He was passed up in the 2002 olympics which was a shame because he was born in SALT LAKE CITY, and I think he could have helped the USA defeat Canada instead of losing, poorly!!!! Steven Konowalchuk for best NHLer from Utah!!!!
This is an awesome topic. Hockey is one of the few things I actually feel patriotism about as a Canadian, which is somewhat strange maybe but true.
One of the few things to be proud of? This is a great country my man
@Jd 09 sure but he doesn't define Canada like you think he does
Same
Thanks for pronouncing Newfoundland the right way!
Orr should still get an HM for Ontario. Same for Maurice (ahead of Jean) in Qc. 1st places do not change for me however.
M richard and béliveau juste arent the same type of players both equal in my book even tho i prefer béliveau
Vid idea best prospect rn from every state of you haven’t already
Bang on with all selections. Yes a couple of no brainers and a couple of no competitions but let's just imagine one team with the selections you made. Scary good! Imagine: You're the goalie and you look up to see Wayne, Mario and Steve flying toward you. You pray they send the second line instead but over the boards jump Gordie, Mark and Sidney. This is going to be bad for you!
I woulda liked to hear your honorable mentions and talk about goalies! Give some love to Brodeur!
Still have my Michael Ryder jersy. B's were stupid not to resign him for another cup run.
Me being from Newfoundland and ppl in my family talk like that😂 bhy
A footnote on the Newfie accent. Over the years the fishing industry collapsed and the economy. At some point companies in Fort Macmurray reached out to unemployed people across the country, like Newfoundland and BC. So my freinds went to the oilpatch to work and they came back saying "bud" every other word. I was like that reminds me of my Newfy freinds. I realized they hire people from all over the world in the oilpatch. The Newfies took their accent there and it went all over the world, so if your in Africa and you hear a guy say 'ay bud" you know he worked in the oil patch.
It's a great time to be an NS hockey fan, we have some monsters in the league right now.
Yep!
I mean, Windsor is the birthplace of hockey. It's in our blood
Jordan too too my favourite red wings best story in nhl n his a native amaericna born player like me
Thats pretty awesome
Wayne Gretzky AND Robert Orr...."personally" Id take 5 Orrs on the ice as apposed to 5 Gretzky's...it wouldnt be much off a game.
Think of it another way 5 bobby orrs vrs 1 Wayne Gretzky and 4 bobby orrs. Now it’s an entirely new way to look at it
Orr played the entire game end to end and revolutionized the position of defensemen. The Great One played half the rink and needed an enforcer to protect him. I'd call him the greatest scorer ever but the greatest hockey player was Orr. 5 Orrs would destroy 5 Great Ones every time.
that's a good way to compare great players, against 5 Orr's or 5 Lemieux, the 5 Gretzky's would say: ''my God they're all so big, tough and so skilled, where's McSorley I miss him...ok let's all go hide behind the net if we want to survive''
best goalies from each country or a video like this one
What about Willie O'Ree for NB, he broke the colour barrier?!
He only played a few games in the NHL. Watched a documentary on him. A real gentleman.
MaN i CaN't WaIt UnTiL "The Greatest NHL Player Of All Time From Every Province (USA)" Edition
Do you mean state?
@@joelcarrier6178 No, dude, I said that as a joke. That's why I put it in sarcastic font. I was poking fun at OhNyquist because he had to clarify that it was Canada that he was talking about, in brackets, even though not really any other country that produces hockey players call their sections of their country "provinces". Cause obviously the US is states not provinces. You missed the entire joke
Well China has provinces lol
@@lucass3675 I know, and I mentioned that, but Canada is really is the only place that produces a lot of talent in the NHL that has provinces. How many people in the NHL do you see from different provinces of china my dude?
@@lucass3675 dont give two shits
I’d love to see every state as well!
I mean, really depends on what type of
Newfoundlander you’re talking to lol. Almost thought you were from NL, with how you pronounce certain words. Not all NL’ers sound as animated as you think haha.
I'm from Newfoundland I can barely understand what my nan and pop say half the time
@@brianmackenzie3675 hahah of course, I'm from NL too and I have buddies who sound basically Irish! but not everyone does & I don't consider my accent to be strong what so ever. That's all I'm saying! Merry Christmas!
You might going to update that yukon one when dylan cozens hits the ice for buffalo.
Cozens is from Whitehorse in Yukon, I live in NWT so I’ve been there lots
My mom got vaccinated yesterday, so lucky
Hope she likes being controlled by the government via a nanochip that came with the “vaccine”!
@@davejonsey4746 what?? Lmao you’re anti-vax aren’t you 😂
Since there are so many great players in Ontario, perhaps doing a vid on greatest player from each city in Ontario
As newfie I can confirm the accent is pretty funny😂
There’s many many accents throughout Newfoundland.
NS represent! We got some real GOATs out here
I think Patrick Roy deserves a shoutout for Quebec as well. Great list! Too many guys to mention.
When there's a discussion of who is the greatest player of all times. The consensus is Gretzky but I would select Bobby Orr prior to Mario Lemieux as a close second. Orr redefined the position of defenseman. Like Gretzky, he did all sorts of things that his contemporaries simply could not do. He was the most dominant player of his era by a landslide.
I tend to make a distinction between the "greatest" and the "best" greatest is Gretzky, bar none. Best on the other hand could very well be orr, I would say Mario based on my preferences. Just my two cents.
10:18 Mario Lemeuix - "Am i a joke to you"
Good video as always my man .
This list could easily be almost all Detroit.
no
@@jackie2000 yes
@@chucklesleclown9116 so you are telling me than their is red wings player who can take the spot of Lemieux in Quebec and Gretzky in Ontario
@@jackie2000 Clearly you don't know how read properly so let me re-type it for you. "This list could easily be ALMOST all Detroit. Key word ALMOST. Almost means not every team which is why I said it.
@@chucklesleclown9116 maybe it's because your version of almost isn't the same as almost everyone else's. I mean, 2 were mentioned, and they didn't mention Bobby Clarke, Sidney Crosby, and I could probably find more examples if I re-watched the video.
Mario is an excellent pick from Quebec, but I'm leaning toward Maurice Richard. It was a lot harder in the rockets day.
Peoplekind Theres too much great Québec native hockey players, so opinions will differ a lot depending who you’re talking to since Qc is huge and many regions exist inside of Qc and they will most likely have a different opinion
Newfoundland gang💪🏼
anyone come here for newfoundland?
Ryder would be my pick as well. Cleary was good too though, so was Ryane Clowe.
Wow! Very interesting. Really surprised not more good players from Yukon. I did not know how was from Sakatchewan.
I think Joe Sakic takes the crown for BC, just because Steve Yzerman moved and ended up growing up in Ontario. But, both players are great candidates for BC.
sakic
Funny how BC's top 2 players are now some of the best GM's in the league, proud moment there
Mark Messier was also the best Canucks Captain and most decorate din their trash history.
Hmm it would be very interesting to see a video like this involving Russia.
love the elbow...well played sir
I'm from Newfoundland
Also PK Subban.
Enjoyed your video. I agreed with most of your choices.
Great list, however, should have given #4 Bobby Orr honourable mention in Ontario.
Next vid: best hockey player from every town in the world.
Maybe not.
What about Goalies!
Start bench cut: M. Tkachuk, Laine, Svechnikov.
Start: Tkachuk
Bench: Svechnikov
Cut: Laine
Start Laine
Bench Tkachuk
Cut Svechnikov
I thought you were gonna say Jake Allen for NB
Think it should have been willie o'ree tbh
@@mattyc2200 he has to be up there .
There’s another NB’er who was also the backup goalie for a Stanley Cup champ-Rollie Melanson.
Difference between Ryder and Cleary is Boston would've won the cup without Ryder, Cleary was a reclamation project and it worked out well for the wings, also Cleary has the distinction of being the first Newfoundlander to win the cup
Live in Brantford, Ontario. Literally a stonesthrow from Wayne Gretzky's/Walter Gretzky's home. So yeah I can say that Gretzky is definitely say that Gretzky is our #1 but who is the 2nd greatest because that matters
In this case number 2 is number 4-Bobby Orr.
I was discouraged not to see honourable mentions For Rocket Richard , Guy Lafleur, Bobby Hull and no goaltenders at all.
Video idea: could you do a video about the best line in the NHL either past or present that are all from one nation. One example is this past season the leafs ran a line of kerfoot Tavares and Marner for a while and they are all from Canada so I'm wonder if any other NHL team has had an all Sweden line or all Russia or USA...etc?
Dan Cleary was clutch for us
Lol ole stone hands himself . Loved the guy though
Really did you make from of Newfoundland I am a Newfie I have lived there forever
Great video mate 👍🏻
Yes...please do this for the states as well!
It would be really cool to see a map of Canada with a picture of these guys in each Province/Territory 👍
Controversial opinion: I know you didn't want to go through a lot of runners up, but I'd actually give Bobby Orr some consideration even against Wayne Gretzky for the pick from Ontario.
Not gonna lie, little choked you didn’t mention Paul Kariya behind Sakic and Yzerman for B.C. Not that I disagree that both had better careers, but it really shows the almost complete stigma around him where he’s never thought of as a great (missing the NHL Greatest 100 players is absolute rubbish) rather just a career that was shortened due to concussions.
Kariya is the biggest reasons why the Mighty Ducks were somewhat taken seriously and not a giant laughing stock for being a Disney owned franchise with a cartoony logo. Because of Paul’s talent, The MDOA (Mighty Duck of Anaheim) were able to push ahead of the “new franchise” state and fairly quickly become buyers getting this other stud named Teemu Selanne (Not a big deal!) but also able to grow and develop lots of great prospects that would culminate to that 03 Run. A run in witch a mismatched round 1 versing league favourite RedWings got swept by underdogs :)
Far from just his leadership qualities, Like Sakic and Yzerman, Paul was very respected amongst peers for both on and off ice talents, not only did he have 2 Lady Byng’s but the 93 Maine Black Bears had one of the most storied collage seasons ever riding on this Freshman’s abilities. At the time Paul was the only Freshman to win the Hobey Baker award for best collage player. I could ramble about other miscellaneous records and stats including representing his country multiple times- getting a good taste of that gold medal, but I’d like to point out how effective he was beyond MDOA. Anyone know who owns the single season record for points in Nashville? Yup, it’s an 82 pt record still held by Paul.
To concluded my RUclips comments rant: I really just wanted to show some love to a player that doesn’t get enough of it. Guy was a pt a game player in the dead puck era, that alone speaks volumes of his abilities!
Ohnyquist: if you end up reading this, I don’t fault you. The video was great and as someone who doesn’t make YT content, I don’t know how easy/hard it is to put together a whole video and it to logistically work ie: how long you want it to be or putting all the slides together. A future recommendation is to maybe have the honourable mentions on the screen and only talk about your selection, or maybe do a follow-up later on about players missed in a list like this! Cheers pal :)
Disclaimer- I’m not looking for hate or people to point out other legends that deserved praise for other provinces like ON and QBC.
Honourable mention Carey Price.
So many to choose from n don't forget about Cam Neely, size strength and has a scores touch, he grinds, fights, checks and scores, to bad they took him at the knees and ended his career early..Comox, BC
66>99 that’s all I have to say
bad math XD
Respectfully I'd love to see a best Goalie from each province, Quebec will undoubtedly require it's own list
Haven't watched yet... But as a western boy... I'm hoping Moose for AB and Marleau for SK!
pretty impressive list and hard to dispute any of them
Nice job on this series.
Thank you for clarifying that this is provinces in Canada. I was definitely thinking it was provinces of Australia.
Québec should have been Maurice Richard... I love Mario, don't get me wrong, but Le Rocket's intensity on the ice has not been matched or surpassed to date. The guy did everything to win... He was the OG superstar of the NHL.
And being part of a dynasty that won 5 straight Stanley Cups is simply out of this world.
The French Connection in Buffalo. Have you done teams all time best lines?
I think Quebec was the toughest:
Lemieux
Richard
Belliveau
All the best in the NHL at their positions during their time. All winners. I agree however that Lemieux's numbers were off the charts, which puts him over the top.
Add Gretzky, Howe and Bobby Orr and you have probably the 6 greatest players in league history, imo.
You should make an All time all star team from WHL, OHL and QMJHL
would have been nice to see the best at each position from every province! I didn't keep track but it looks like a lot of forwards were mentioned. sequel? :)
Quebec is a tough one, your gonna have to do best goalie by province 🤣 Patrick Roy deserves a mention. This list was obviously on forwards and pts, also also also need to do Defensemen 🤣
Jordin Tootoo wings legend
Bandwagon. You can't cheer for 2 teams or else you are a bandwagon.
Smh I hate when people banwagon
KingKnightBoss cool
What about Ryan clowe? 5:15
The province is Newfoundland and Labrador. Everyone forgets Labrador.
🎻
Hmm I’d put guy lafleur for Quebec but sure
I was so excited when Mario was revealed
Great vid like always 😁
Lemieux got cancer in 1993, had radiation treatment missing 2 months of the season, came back and still finished 1st in league scoring, 12 points ahead of the guy in second place.
Lemieux retired in 1997, came out of retirement over 3 years later. Despite missing the first half of the 2000-2001 season, he finished 26th in league scoring with an insane 76 points in 43 games, and 1st for points per game that year. Oh yeah, and he did that as a hall of famer, having been inducted in 97.
great list
