I'm really surprised you don't have Ray Whitney on the list. EDM put him on waivers in 1997, he'd played 9 games for the Oilers with 4 points. FLA picked him up and he got 32 goals and 61 points, ended up a perennial point scorer for 15 more years.

There have been plenty of other very respectable "honorable mention" type players who revamped their careers and found their place in the NHL after being claimed off of waivers. Drew Miller is one example. After being picked up by the Redwings, he became one of the best penalty killers in the league, and just a solid depth piece.

I'm surprised Ray Whitney being claimed off Waivers by Florida from Edmonton didn't make the list. In 3 full seasons with the Panthers he had between 26-32 goals and 61-71 points. He also had 31 points in 43 games the next season before being flipped to Columbus for Kevyn Adams and a 4th round pick. He was productive the rest of his career with a Cup win in 2006, two All Star appearances in 2000 (Florida) and 2003 (Columbus) and made the second all star team in 2012 on the tail end of his career with Phoenix; where he still put up 24 goals and 77 points.
He finished his career with over 1,000 points. He may not be a slam dunk Hall of Famer but I definitely think he deserves to be inducted at some point.
Your picks were all deserving selections but I think Ray Whitney tops them all personally.

Keep up the great work cheers .

An idea I have for an interesting video series would be "butterfly effects" in the NHL. Basically, the concept that a small change can result in much larger changes down the road. In the hockey context, an example could be a trade that was seen as nothing at the time that ended up being the key reason why a team won the cup.

Not sure how the logistics would work but I'd love to see something with players who pass the Eye Test vs players who are statistical wonders.
The first thing that comes to mind as a Flyers fan is JVR vs Kevin Hayes - JVR is a macro/microstat darling who pretty much outshines Hayes in every regard despite being stuck on the third/fourth lines for most of the season, but most Flyers fans feel like he's expensive dead weight because of how AV's used him. Meanwhile anyone in the stats community will say that Hayes is one of the worst contracts in the league right now by the numbers, but you'd be hard pressed to find a Flyers fan that actually hates him because of what he's done for the penalty kill, his knack for clutch goals, and just making the team fun again.

Very unique concept for a video. I don't think I've seen this done by any other hockey youtubers. Good group of players you chose for the video too. Depth players don't get enough credit in the nhl. It's always about the top scorers but the teams that win a cup always run 4 lines with confidence.

In the Ottawa Senators inaugural 1992-93 season they claimed defenseman Norm Maciver off waivers from Edmonton. Maciver would lead the team in scoring with 63 points. It would stand as a record for most points in a season by a Senators defenseman until Erik Karlsson broke it 20 years later.

So.. Just to get this straight.. The Devils traded Steve Sullivan to Toronto in 97' for Doug Gilmore.. In 98' Gilmore would then signed with Chicago. A year later the Leaf's then put Sullivan on Waivers and Chicago took him. So we essentially just gave two 60+ point scorers to Chicago with no return. If I knew this, Lou letting Kovy, Parise and Clarkson walk wouldn't have stung so bad.

He did a decent job being 1A/1B with Kuemper for the short part of the season before playoffs in 2013-14 before losing to the Chicago Blackhawks who then lost to the eventual Stanley Cup Champions Los Angeles Kings.
