    Got my PPL in 1979 flying out of Palo Alto. HMB was a very fun destination. Park at transient, walk to a great lunch, check out the beach, then back over the hill to PAO. Always amazed me how my home airport was towered with a 2400' runway and HMB is uncontrolled with 5000'. I understand it is because of the military listening post they needed the bigger runway. Anyway thank for bringing back great memories and looking forward to more great videos.

    I fly an SR22T out of KLVK, and love to go do approaches at WVI, HAF, SNS, MRY etc. It's amazing we get all of this ability to practice and keep current in actual.

    the relief when ground contact shows in the comms, that seemed like a bumpy approach, scary for sure.

    Can a long time Cirrus owner and pilot give you an advice? Please pull the seatbelts down to your waist before you tighten them! That's much safer - but also LOOKS much better (;-)) Great video and good flying! I'm from Germany but I've rented an SR22 in S.F. and flew to HMB for lunch once :-)

    Not logged a few hours out of PAO so far but have shot this approach many times in MSFS. It’s too bad the sim changed their live weather that killed the marine layer. It used to work great. Beautiful sunset and landing.

    Just curious, what made you choose the SR22T?

    • @westcoastflyer
      @westcoastflyer  Год назад +1

      So many reason!
      1. Safety
      2. Avionics
      3. Payload
      4. Cost to maintain (it’s not a jet)
      5. Ability to get into short runways
      6. Good step up aircraft

    What’s your thoughts on the turbo Vs non turbo with respect to performance, fuel burn, maintenance, etc?

    • @westcoastflyer
      @westcoastflyer  Год назад

      Hard to say since I have never flown a non-turbo SR22.
      I am sure maintenance would be very similar and when it comes to fuel flow, I can fly for 4.5 hours before needing to refuel which at that point, it's time to stretch your legs.
      However, if you want to fly in the summer / mountains a turbo is a must because you probably wouldn't be able to conduct the flight in a non turbo with confidence.
      Hope that helps!

    Why put the better quality camera facing you and not out front? No offense, but I'd rather look forward than stare at you.

    • @westcoastflyer
      @westcoastflyer  Год назад

      Haha that’s a funny way to put it! Well, both cameras are shooting the same exact quality. One has to be a little bit zoomed in because of GoPro’s affect. I have an audio cable to the one facing me so that I don’t have to match the audio with my voice / camera which is very difficult. I have three different cameras running, and I tried to spread out all the different shots accordingly. Sounds like I just need an additional audio cable.
      Thanks for your comment 🫡
