  • In this, Part 3, I weld on some brackets so the transmission doesn't fall out... or start leaking again.
This is a little K46 Hydrostatic transmission job. The tractor was leaking on the customers garage floor.
I found a few intersecting things while working on this tractor. Not everyone does the same quality of work.
If you want to see more about Hydrostatic transmissions, check back, as I will be doing a video specifically about one of these transmissions soon.

Good video/s watched them all. Good solid processes, no rushing. Bracket Repair was solid, won’t crack again. I like the way you kept is simple with a positive disposition. One step after the other, it’s amazing what we can do. Nice job! Thank you for the effort.

Thanks for posting this. Pretty detailed. I had broken bolts on my Husqvarna 2554 at the axle and at the forward plate and have recently been seeing an oil leak. Will probably need to split the transmission to fix the leak now. Good job on the weld. Now that's the strongest part of that machine.

Nice video, was able to learn aspects of how the trans works, and some of how to rebuild. Look forward to the more in depth video.

A weak part of the design, the trans mounts, had to fix those on ours , I notice on those they got rid of separate mounts and put in a stronger frame mount for the front for the differential. Good stuff! thanks , I'm going to be taking apart the rear end on a lawn tractor, useful info.

Thanks for sharing, ignore the critics. They seem to forget that you don't owe them anything, they should be grateful that you went to the trouble to video this

Great video's. Great fix. TY. I still do not understand why in hell on the low end Tuff Torque they do not include a drain plug for the fluid. Good fix on the welds.

Auto mechanics 101 says you don’t work under anything that can come off the jack. That’s why there are jack stands

That transmission mount crack is a known defect by Husqvarna, they sell a stamped bracket kit that bolts into existing frame holes. Likely the problem was started by the factory not installing or not tightening the front transmission bolts. Mine looked similar, only one bolt installed & the other one broken. I drilled stress relief holes at several locations on the cracks & just welded the cracked brackets.
