The one beef I would say that caused the most long-term damage would be Lil' Kim and Foxy, considering there was a genuine sisterhood between them. Roxanne Shante did not create battle rap. Nor was she the first rapper to make a battle rap record. Her response to UTFO became popular and was the first diss record that many people ever heard. But it was not the first diss song. The first diss songs were made years before Roxanne Shante and were local mixtapes that were only available in local neighborhoods and never got radio play. Roxanne Shante was the best female battle rapper, but she can’t be given credit for creating battle rap no more than RUN-DMC can take credit for creating rap music. They made it popular and made it mainstream, but didn’t create it.

Atlantic records gave Cardi a warning to "stop acting a fool in public or ELSE." They had a whole backup plan to push the rapper Dreamdoll as their main artist while slowly phasing out Cardi if Cardi continued acting up. Empressive had a whole video on it before she pulled it down. I think Cardi learned from that incident since then.

It’s unfortunate what happened between Kim & Foxy. They had a falling out that could of been fixed with time but they had ppl in their ears. I can only imagine how different things could of been if they’d remained as friends and worked together. Nicki Minaj is definitely a top 10 female hip-hop artist and she’s most definitely talented. But boy is she hypocritical in almost every way. She has almost a Kanye level of ego and she justifies every small detail without just admitting she’s wrong.

Please remember that Foxy was just 15 when she came on the scene and was pushed to be very provocative at an early age. She was groomed by Jay Z, Nas and other heavyweights but was able to rhyme alongside them and often stand out, that is a MAJOR achievement. There has long been a ‘mentally ill’ trope with dark skin female rappers, and we have to remember that Foxy came of age in a very volatile and misogynistic industry. She is one of the best female rappers of all time, and just like Azealia Banks, her drama shouldn’t overshadow her lyrical ability.
