Shanell was a pop star on a rap label. They didn’t brand her correctly, nor did they put the right focus into her. The fact that she can sing, they never used her for hooks. It was horrible marketing on Young Money’s end. She deserves so much more. A talented singer, songwriter, AND she can dance her ASS off!

Cash Money was basically the Bad Boy and Death Row of the 2000s where unlike in Bad Boy where someone gets killed or in jail, it was very similar to Death Row as you hear their most successful acts all the time on the radio like Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, and Drake. The only similarities between Bad Boy, Death Row, and Cash Money were the executives were grimy. I mentioned in your Bad Boy video that all record executives are grimy individuals. Suge Knight is in prison while Puffy and Birdman are free but are constantly side-eyed for their actions and rightly so.

Fun Facts:: hot boys broke up it was due too financial mismanagement.& everyone left cash money besides Wayne. Also Juve left due to contract disputes & missing royalties. Manny Fresh whom was the producer & 1 half of duo Big Tymers he also left cash money due to financial reasons. So right there thats all you need to know about Birdman or should i say Baby. & I also think he groomed Wayne. They was always kissing on the lips & when caught "thats my son" but yet theres an interview where him & wanye were on 106 & park & they asked baby a question about kissing girls & as birdman tryna answer wanye speaks over him "im the only one he kisses" thats sus 🧐👀

Being independent is also extremely hard especially back then when most people that were successful were still from non-independent record labels. Nicki and Drake both did benefit from record labels. Nicki even did the unprecedented and avoided a 360 deal. Shanell needed to at LEAST get on the RIGHT label with the RIGHT deal. When I was 17 and 18...nothing was playing in my car other than Young Money. I LOVED that Ms. Parker song...I also played that Chris Brown song "follow me like Twitter" and the "shoes" song. Anyone else remember those classics?! The In My Zone mixtape from Chris was a masterpiece to me. Lmao I miss those days so much.

The reason behind Curren$y’s (Spitta) departure has actually come out.
His contract was terminated due to the fact that the label wouldn’t have been able to recoup. Spitta lost a lot of his belongings in Katrina and Wayne knew that his artist getting his life together would probably be the better move so he dropped him. Some of those details could be slightly off, but overall it was because of Katrina and that’s why Spitta has never spoken ill of Wayne.

Honestly law suits aside, the way lil Wayne used his power to halt the release of lil twist album because he knew twist was going down a bad drug addiction is honestly the most admirable thing. Wayne asked him to stop and get it into check but when he seen twist not taking it seriously he made him take it seriously. I mean probably should have put him in rehab or some sort of professional program but I wish all music labels would do this! Instead of glorifying drugs and the use of them. I will say if I remember correctly Lil Wayne dang near always had his “double cup” in music videos or interviews… always had his blunt lmfao so although that’s admirable and shows Wayne truly cared about his young rappers life.
I still think Lil twist music was garbage but hey maybe it’s because I wasn’t as high as him when he was rapping 😮‍💨

Yeah, I though that definitely showed Lil Wayne’s character in a positive light, but I have to ask myself if lil twist was just following the footsteps of every other adult on the label. Nicki admitted to doing drugs, Wayne definitely was on them, wouldn’t be surprised if most of the label engaged with some substances too.

I’m looking 👀 at that story from different angles, as you mentioned Wayne was always rapping about his lean and weed when in fact he actually doing much harder drugs. Did you hear 👂🏽 Twist saying that he was doing pills 💊 and drugs with his boss and people around him, his boss was Wayne so he kind of low key told us that Wayne was partying right along with him and maybe 🤔 possibly got him on pills! So he seemed like a hypocrite because he couldn’t even get his own sobriety in check especially during the height of young money, do you remember back to back stories of Lil Wayne being in the news for having seizures and it was reported to be caused by his drug use and or lean?! Lil Wayne was having so many seizures that the media even claimed to be worried about him because he was said to have went unconscious on an plane ✈️ ride after having a seizure in the air, they had to do an emergency landing. He ended going to jail for a year for a gun charge in New York back in like 2011 or 2012 and while he was there he gained so much weight he looked healthy again like 2004 The Carter version of himself and got out and started losing weight again and then going bald and having matted looking 👀 dreads that were falling out. He ain’t looked healthy again since that bid. Anyway I also can understand not dropping money on a active user who is hasn’t even dropped their first album and is stupid enough to start getting high and thinking that he should have a budget dropped on him for a project, where they do that at?! Not to mention he went Buck wild and kept getting arrested for dumb stuff. I don’t blame Wayne and his music from the clips here he was trash and the public didn’t really take to him.

Wayne struck gold when he, Drake and Nicki got together - but damn I didn’t know any of this. Pusha T said bird man stole royalties and etc. which began the entire issue with drake. It’s unfortunate. Young money is very significant in rap culture. Shady selfish greedy fake people like bird man and the ones that messed them over deserve the worst.

It seems like with all these artist labels only 3 can go. MMG(Ross, meek, wale), rocafella(jay, beanie, freeway), dipset(cam, juelZ, Jim) even good music( Kanye, Pusha, big Sean) idk it’s weird that it always seems that’s way

It’s like stocks you diversify your portfolio but you put more money into the stocks that are generating the most profit eventually you’ll pull your money out of the stocks that are failing. These artist are not people to them they are products/stocks. And good things come in 3s it’s a known fact but you have to pick the top 3 out the bunch.
