They lost me at the turbo charged four-cylinder. The six cylinder in the Ridgeline is amazingly reliable.

Turbo engine? 4 cylinders? NO, thank you! That's exactly what I don't want.
Enough of the complaints about turbo 4cyl engines.
This is a Mid sized truck, it doesn't need a huge gas guzzling 6cyl any longer. Turbo 4s are now reliable, strong and standard on just about everything.
What Honda ( and I need) is to NOT go the "Plug in Hybrid" way, and come out with a well designed turbo 4 Hybrid that gets above 30 MPG Combined driving. It doesnt need 6500 lbs towing, 5000 is plenty, its a Mid Sized truck.
If they redesign the blan interior, make the Regular Hybrid turbo 4 cyl, and freshen up the exterior to look like a truck in front instead of an oversized civic, they will earn my money. Speaking of which, the above mentioned equiped Hybrid TOP TRIM should be no more than 50k all in Period !
Do that, and Toyota will be crying in their soup !

But the "throw away crap" comment can go for virtually any manufacturer on the road today, especially if you drive the heck out of vehicles everyday for no reason !
Slow down, maintain your vehicle per the manufacturer specs, and almost anything will last a good long time.
I wonder if we can just get the new screen on our old Ridgelines!

Why wouldn't they just switch to the same powertrain as the Pilot? Where is this information coming from?
One, it’ll use the 10 speed. It’s in the Pilot and soon to be Passport.
Two, the turbo four is probably a de-tuned Civic R engine. It’s already bulletproof.
Three, they are making a lot of headway with adding additional strength to uni-body’s
Four, the current actually has more payload than the Tacoma.
Five, it’ll outlast any GM twin or Gladiator.

They are screwing up a good truck. Sales will DROP like a stone. Tacoma is bad now. Ridgeline will be even worse.
Honda need to blow the dust off the inline 5 they have stowed away and turbo that. That would peak my interest.

Eww dropping a reliable engine for a turbo. Reliability is unknown and now more complex with many moving parts. What can go wrong? SMH.
Want to see several v6s available from 3.8 dual overhead cam 4 l 4.2 l and on up to four point five liter also available with twin turbo an supercharged versions turn the engine around normal make it rear drive bias with all-wheel drive And R VERSION as well

Amazing! Honda is making the same mistake Toyota has made. They are putting 4 Banger turbo engines in their trucks. Turbos put extreme stress of four cylinder engines.
No, idiot drivers put extreme stress on 4 cyl turbo engines.
Stop the zero to sixty peddle drops, at every stop, and learn to drive normally!
Maintain your engine, change your oil, drive like gas is expensive which it is, and these engines will never give you any trouble for 200k miles plus.
All these 2.4L Turbos are meant to fail by 2030, which will force people into EV offerings by 2030.

What a silly video. The colorado makes 310 hp and 430 lb/ft of torque, it's a real body on frame truck, actually looks like a truck, and will eat this thing for lunch.
the twin turbo V6 from the MDX type S, would be the best thing they could put in a Ridgleline.
As for the turbo 4 banger...... nobody builds a better engine than Honda. Period.
