Something not right... Previous gen Model 3 LR was doing 12.2s 1/4 and 11.6s with AB. How does the M3 Highland do 12.8s ??? I know it is slightly slower than legacy M3 but not by this much....

@@DRTerabyte Yes, but this is the fastest Mode in Lr. Performance has Sport instead. There is only a Chill Mode but it's more if you have people which get sick in cars, it doesn't consume less if you're gently on the Pedal. Tesla is all about Drive. If you put the Volvo in Normal Mode it has no Awd since it opens a clutch and than it's way slower, in Sport it drives always Awd and consumes much more energy although it reacts slower than Tesla in it's everyday Mode. Nevertheless, remarkable Performance of the Volvo, it holds it's Power even at high Speeds.
Volvo EX30 is a small SUV. I guess the comparison would be to Tesla Model Y Performance. According to spec, 0-100km/h for Tesla M3LR 2024 is 4.4 sec. and MYP is 3.7 sec. Meanwhile for Volvo EX30 Performance is 3.6 sec. Well, here you go. You are comparing performance car with non-performance one.

Tesla 2022 and before Highland 2023 model 3 long range is circa 450hp, the 'acceleration boost' unlocks the full 500hp ish and shaves off 0 to 60 down to 3.7 seconds so be interesting to see a pre-highland model 3 long range with boost as top end too is over 140mph on 2022 cars due to tyres (pilot 4s) and the long range after 60mph sees off model 3 performance models to the quarter mile (see carwow drag races) before being reigned back in at the top where 160mph plus is on tap with model 3 performance. Volvo is really impressive by the way, so this is just my thoughts not a bash to either brand

Volvos, yes...some are built in China but many are built in the US and still in Europe. The new Shexing battery technology in China will help Volvo.

@@opc1731 No that will not come, because the Performance literally has a more powerful physical motor in the back. And therefore there is no boost available.
@@HermanWillems Boost was always only on Front Motor. I misbelieved that also. I have a Model Y with Acceleration Boost and the Rear Motor didn't change on Power Output, all the Extra Power comes from the Front. I can see that with Scan My Tesla. Nevertheless, car feels more Rear Powered in Corners, i guess Boost also changes a little bit in that.
On MotorBox test, this Tesla achieved a 12,3s in the quarter mile run. Also ensure that they both had a similar SoC at the time of the drag race, and comparable tire quality.

no ti sbagli, quella nel video è una LR 2024, non esiste ancora la performance, e da specifiche tesla ha 366 kW cioè 498 HP

Comunque dai miei calcoli per accelerare in 3.1 sec da 0 a 100 un peso di circa 1850 kg 460 Hp dichiarati di picco non sono sufficienti, attenderò prove a banco che senza dubbio qualcuno farà

Please get the specs right. The Model 3 Long Range does not have 498 hp, it has 394 hp.

@@edrivesweden Yes, the EV Database has an error. Carwow probably got their info from there.
There is some confusion about the hp figure, probably because Tesla doesn't provide an official figure. But considering the official acceleration time it's clear the car doesn't have close to 500 hp. If it did, Tesla would have listed the official acceleration time as similar to the previous Performance model. Instead the 2024 Long Range has a similar acceleration figure as the previous Long Range model, also with around 400 hp.
Some hp figures for the 2024 Model 3 Long Range:
MotorTrend states 394 hp.
Driving states 384 hp.
TopSpeed states 394 hp.
CarBuzz states 393 hp.
I've also seen 425 hp stated. If you could race the previous Performance model with around 500 hp against the 2024 Long Range, the difference should be pretty clear.
@@edrivesweden It would be fair and show integrity if you changed the title of this video to not say 498 hp for the Model 3 LR, as this is misleading. It could make people think the Model 3 underperforms. Tesla has made no official hp claim, so better to say e.g. "unknown hp" (or e.g. "390+ hp" if you want a number).
The only claim of performance Tesla has made for the Model 3 LR is 0-100 km/h in 4.4 s. Volvo claims 0-100 km/h in 3.6 s. Those official claims match your result quite well.

I believe the tesla model 3 long range has about 390 hp. It has the same motors like the model Y long range. If you search you can find model Y dynos, they have abou 380-390 hp, if you purchase the acceleration boost which costs 2000 € adds about 100hp more. 😎

I have COC list from new model 3 Long range which is needed for registration.
Front motor has 158 kW and the rear 208 kW.

0-100 the Taycan rwd feels like it’s not giving you full power. After 80/100kmh it speeds up and at 130, when it shifts into 2nd gear, it really goes.
My buddy has the old Model 3 LR with performance boost. He’s WAY faster to 100, but 120-230 is pretty much the same. (This is without launch control.. Taycan has more power with launch control.

Top speed of old modY is 250km/h Volvo "stopps" at 180km/h because of a reason. Dont get me wrong seems to be a nice EV but put it on scale.
Volvo have obviously optimized 0-100km/h but not above. In regard to that would be good to llok at speeds ahead of 150km/h - Doesnt matter : New mod 3 Performing will crank Volvo out, as well as new mod Y Performance. In any metrics
Volvo is about 0.5s slower than BYD Seal Performance in quarter mile. Not bad. 👍🙂

New model 3 performance would wipe the floor with that thing sub 3 second to 60mph. Been tested 2.9 with 50% battery only watch the AutoTrader review just posted…apologies in advance ~ I just dislike all Volvos really..only real ones were touring car editions ~T5’s and similar of the 90’s, since then nothing much of any note in my subjective opinion really, cheers

Well my truck is slow off the line and gets up to speed just fine but sometimes it’s hard to know how fast your going in an EV because the connection isn’t the same like an ice engine. I am a fan of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N because of the simulated engine rev sound. I think this will help drivers.
A proper comparison would be: Tesla Model Y Performance (3.7) vs. Volvo XC30 Twin Motor Performance (3.6). :)

This comparison is pointless and silly all the time the Chinese EX has a very slow top speed of only 180 km/h. A Tesla Model 3 LR now has a slow top speed of only 200km/h aswell but still much faster than the EX. My old SR+ does 228km/h would beat both of these on a real highway, 48km/h faster than the EX😂
