  • The paradoxical truth we discover on the spiritual path is where and how far our original enlightened nature is located. In this episode of The Sacred Word, I will explain an important verse from the Ashtavakra Gita, a text one is ready to assimilate after enlightenment. The Ashtavakra Gita is for those to absorb oneself in the presence of the Ultimate Reality after awakening.

@@gamemasterinfinity5056 Dude don't say you're enlightened. Enlightened people don't feel the need to tell people. If you still get angry or annoyed, if you can not see the Atman in people, if you can't see the beauty of the underlying true reality. You are probably not there yet. It's not bad. Everyone will have a moment were they think they reached the peek. There are many peaks and valleys left.

In a way, the quest for Enlightement is like searching your entire house multiple times for your car keys, only to realize you already had them in your pocket. Just as a city's light pollution prevents one from clearly seeing the night stars, the "noisy" distractions of the world prevent one from hearing the still small voice of true Self. Once this knowledge has been attained, there is a certain humor to the realization that years or decades of one's life were spent searching for something that was never lost.

Eventually the laughter and feeling of joyful bliss wore off and life started to look normal again.
Your sense of your body comes back to normal again and you stop feeling like your body is the whole universe. There is an unbelievably deep sense of Peace and Tranquility that remains.
After a while Depression, stress, your sense of identification with your ego eventually come back beacuse you become trapped by thought and
You become identified with your mind again. At least thats what happened with me... 😞🙆🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️
    I had "fallen asleep" again...
In a way life is more difficult to live coz everything is completely different but still the same.
I was very confused for a very long time. There was a sense of "what did I get?" and "what was it all for?".
I spent so long trying to get back to that state of ubelievably extreme joy and bliss with countless hours of meditation and trying to recreate those conditions that were present when I got enlightened. I felt like I was going crazy, I realised that I was trapped by my experience of enlightenment and I was back chasing it all over again.
It took me a year to understand and incorporate the experience of enlightenment into my everyday life when I stumbled across Eckhart Tolle.
The intense joy was gone and Eckhart Tolle taught me that the main purpose and point of the enlightenment experience wasn't the extreme joyful bliss you feel during the enlightenment experience, But the Peace and Tranquility that comes from no longer being identified with your mind right after the experience happens. That was the point.
When I came accross Eckharts work it was like I awakened for a second time and I vowed never to "fall asleep" again.
    So to answer your question
    "Am I still laughing?"...
No I am not still laughing, beacuse I've heard the joke before.
But I still understand how funny it is whenever I look around at everything happening in everyday life.
I wish every human could experience what I experienced at least once in their life.
I feel like it should be the right of every human during their lifetime.
The Maya truly is beautiful. ❤️

Well i can say i got enlightened or better to say gain the knowledge of self. but its a some what different story. first sadhguru took me away from normal thinking without an answer how to create agony and estacy by your own will. Than one day i accepted all feelings within me as mine without discrimantion whether good or bad with all my heart and desired it, My fear of suffering went away but the process was taxing and i got tired fast, but it was working great. after some time all those feeling which i desired (good and bad) suddenly engulfed in my chest like a black hole and became absolutely empty it was serene there. i concentrated on it but my ego only looked at it but never went there. but than i realised i am still in the sea swimming and now for the first time i can see the shore, so instead of focusing just go there at the shore and when i reached it was absolutly empty and kind a amzing and then i turned my head back to see the ocean again the same thing which was drowning me became so beautiful and i started having a smile of relief and tears of joy . and said finally the Rock has come back to aatman. Now i can see and smell everything from that void and be absolutely unaffected and go for a swim whenever i feel bored cos now i have a home to return to absolute quite empty but alive.

Beautiful comments, both of you. I’ve experienced what you have also. I feel like I had more of a slow awakening. It began 22 years ago, but the main what I call “Oneness activation”, came for me on a solo road trip. It wasn’t an exuberant bliss, it was silence, the deepest silence I’ve ever felt. I couldn’t even hear my ears ringing which don’t ever stop. That switch got turned on a decade ago but I am able to tune it out. This was quiet, and connected to something so large, so utterly peaceful. I felt not to cry at it, or smile, or any emotion. It just simply was…fullness. There was no space for anything, yet it was endless. It’s moments that are part of me, I never tried to get back to it because I understood it was a one time deal, meant to show me. There were other wilder, stranger, mysterious and confounding things that happened after that; I took them in with a sense of wonder, sometimes fear but only due to the high strangeness and inexperience. Emotions are present as they should be, it’s what makes us human, but I’ve realized they’re all the same just different parts of a spectrum. Like colors, and then each color has the ability to ombré into brighter and paler shades. Always at the center now for me, is that vastness. The fullness of it all. 🌿✨

You'd be eluding yourself in such a pursuit. For one, you are already, whatever it is you're trying to embody. Two, there truly is no such thing as a spiritual pursuit. You'd be looking outside yourself when, in truth, there is no 'outside.' :) Now, i tell you this: the most important goal is for you to just be you, without trying to be someone or something that you're not, or trying to attain something that is probably not there for you but in your mind. One day he wasn't in the workshop. Boldly, I went in to look and saw an empty chair at a desk and I sat down.

I think people don’t realize they are enlightened because they are so engrossed in the “journey” to “find it”. In this “journey” we are distracted by the chatter of the mind analyzing the aspects of the journey to make it more dramatic and exciting so we end up enjoying the search rather than finding enlightenment within and present in us.

I'm very glad to 'meet' you online, Jason, and for the first time. Your arrow hits the mark. You present the Vedanta tradition, as powerfully at the late Alan Watts. And this reminds me of something I read long ago...."It's so clear it takes long to see. You must understand that the fire you are seeking, is the fire in your own lantern."

Great and I am very much impressed by the explanation of our true self "Atman". This is what the Vedas say, the saint Astabraka says, and Bhagawat Gita says. The "Atman" inside every one of us is a small part of universal and super super conscious all pervasive, character less form less "Brahmha" or "Paramatman" or Super Soul. The goal of every spiritual seeker is to try to realize this Brahmha.

Beautiful Jason, I need to be jolted out of how much my mind gets bogged down when I never give it a chance to assimilate true words. I listen and watch everything that Swami Sarvapriananda puts out. And I truly love the way he explains simple and complex aspects of Vendanta. But this video stopped my mind and when one hears the truth the mind does stop and is able to assimilate. And like Babaji says the three things that your life should be made of are; Truth, Simplicity and Love. Simplicity is really such a gift, Truth is obvious and Love that’s what this is all about. ❤️

I witnessed my "atman" or soul whatever you wanna call it after a tough break up. The pain was so deep I just wanted it to stop. I knew about spirituality and the soul so I began to just observe my thoughts. This time with clear intent but I wasn't forcing myself. I began to just relax my mind and let all my worries just drift away. I began to feel calm, serenity and peace. It felt wonderful and all my worries and stress about my past relationship just went away. It didn't bother me anymore I became peaceful and content.

    Tat Tvam Asi
    That Thou Are
The beautiful mahavakia - great utterance (truth)
btw, tvam is pronounced as if v, vacara, is w. When the v occurs after a consonant, it is pronounced as w, i.e. tvam is twam (twum), advaita is uh-dwite-tuh.
Dvaita = dual, multiplicity. As is often the case in English, in Sanskrit putting the a in front of a word gives the opposite meaning. e.g atypical. advaita is non-dual.
With deep gratitude for this wonderful channel.

I don’t want this to sound trite, I recently had this awakening, if only fleeting. The fact that I was high doesn’t negate the momentary awareness that I am you, I am Brahman, I am “it” experiencing the universe through this physical vessel. I am everyone experiencing everything right now, just as a single ray of light can be split into a rainbow of different colors (wavelengths). Yet it appears to us as a single ray of light. It sounds a bit like “stoner babble” but the experience felt profound. Great video by the way. :)

It is the watcher, the awareness that is like a camera lense, beyond thought, beyond ego, beyond the conditioning and emotional dysregulation. It's being pure awareness with no judgement or labelling things good or bad. Project neither into the future or past, there is only ever the now and that's where we easily deal with our problems, even injustice.. In the present moment. When the worst things happen, it can provoke this. I was arrested and it brought me into present moment awakening very strongly (it was exposed in court as a fallacy). To lose your freedom as a victim, that shocked me into awakening.

@@dr.kenmiller4227 Eventually the laughter and feeling of joyful bliss wore off and life started to look normal again.

For you to keep reading it so many times, means, basically, that you haven't got it yet. :) Meaning to say that you haven't fully understood the message. Had you understood the message, you'd never go back to the book. Rather, you'de try to understand the message this time from your own personal experience without any external guidance. It's time to take action and let go the theoretical aspect of it all, i say. You will figure out what works for you and how different it may be to you compared to someone else's perspective.
