We never left each other, or we can't really, that's the joke. The awaking is just an acclimation of old knowledge, that is, that we are all connected. The true struggle at this point of yuga is battling with the body and leaving behind the judgment of the earth body. The truth I've found through enlightenment is that the only true way is through love and faith. Love is the antidote, and faith is the means in which you take action. I recommend anyone that reads this take time to re-evaluate your jaded mindset, identify what's negative and always challenge it with love 💙
How does this outlook coexist in a world where torture exists? People have kept kids in closets for years, not even teaching them to speak, and that is fundamentally equivalent to a loving home? That's a serious question but even if I'm missing the point the specific message "everything is the same" seems overly simple to a degree that is self-defeating.
Before enlightenment, chop wood and carry water. After enlightenment, chop wood and carry water. Spirits having physical experience learning balance. Cheers
The Construct that defines material life is so simple and that is the joke itself. We are flesh encapsulations of the nothingness of space. Space is divided into flesh embodiments. Contained within these embodiments is the same only space. But we forget and think we are the embodiments, instead of the space embodied.
I have to keep reminding myself ...how am I thinking atmo because things are just happening I am just witnessing and who is I anyway..easy for me to get caught up in my character/ego😅
I am new to the idea of nonduality. I have a question, humbly asked. It seems to me that the achievement of non duality is characterised in language by terms such as enlightenment, perfection, mastery. These words seem very grounded in ego(?) …so an enlightened individual is now separate from the unenlightened, but how can this be? That sounds live drawing a distinct line and therefore creating duality. This must seem a naive question, but if anyone could help clarify my confusion, that would be great. Thanks
Here is my take on it, for what it is worth. The unenlightened subdivide "their" reality into divisions. It is they who draw distinct lines and create separations, that are self-imposed and self-imposing. Enlightenment, perfection and mastery are not grounded upon the ego as they do not refer to the identity of the self, but to the attainment of an "identity" that has no self. (This are my thoughts. Whether the Ashtavakra Gita says this I do not know as I am fairly well unfamiliar with Hinduism.)
@@electronwave4551 thanks for coming back. I think I need to think a bit more about this. Sorry this is probably an unsatisfactory response, but it has had an impact. I will now listen more deeply as those who choose instruct speak of mastery etc, to see if I catch the nuance you take from how they speak. Thanks
Enlightenment means attaining higher state of consciousness.. There are 4 state of consciousness.. Jagrat, swapna, sushupti and thureeya...The 4 th state of consciousness is Ananda or Brahmananda. / blissful / Nondual state.
I truly need a better advice other than "complete detachment". I have witnessed first hand how that makes an individual cold and calculative devoid of true empathy or compassion. I need to understand how one would feel gratitude for/refect on their current circumstance without some form of healthy attachment. Please help! We are spiritual beings having a human experience so wouldn't detachment take away from that experience? If moderation is key, then where does it lie?
Where I'm at is something like if I'm confused or mentally suffering it's because I don't want to let go of something, and I probably know what it is but pretend I don't at some level.
In the spiritual marketplace, many terms are misleading. Detachment is one of them, along with “Enlightenment” or “Awakening,” and “Liberation” or “Salvation.” Detachment, from a ‘spiritual’ perspective, does not mean one becomes a cold, uncaring arsehole. To be detached from the world is not to adopt an anti-social attitude of “Everyone can go hang, or I don’t give a damn.” If this is the case, then the ego is showing one of its many faces. A Sage is detached in the sense that they are no longer deceived by appearances, therefore, they remain free and unattached to things of this world, but this does not mean they have no compassion for those who suffer. On the contrary, the cries of the world are heard more acutely, and they are more compelled to help those who are truly tired of seeking and suffering. Some gurus offer the practice of detachment to a seeker who is having difficulty breaking away from identifying themselves with name and form and falling into the many traps of the ego. To stand apart and take a more aloof position may open a space where clarity can enter in terms of the reality of the situation rather than to continue being a slave to thoughts and habits that are based on a delusional state of being.
The true meaning of ‘I am That’ is a pointing, a mantra, which is getting the I to collapse the binary between I and that, or the other. ‘I am that otherness’ is another way to say it. Once ‘that ness’ and ‘I ness’ are unified then we shed the mask and relax back into our underlying pre dual being
Jason I want to tell you something mind blowing. Im a yoga teacher in India I would love to connect with you personally. Jason Ashtavakra is literally the greatest book in the world, but the crazy fact is that it corresponds to the Schrodingers cat experiment, that means only the witness exists. Life is only a projection. I can explain it better this and more such crazy theories if you allow me.
All realize value. Few value realization. The realization of being is of value. Existence is of everything in the process of being. Experience being (the verb). The realization of being is in the experience of being. Simply be. The Creator is in the process of being: join in.

Another great video which speaks to the self rather than the mind, thank you Jason. I’ve been getting some video recommendations from people who are recovering from what they call neo-advaita. I’d never heard of this before. Would you care to share your thoughts on neo-advaita? Is it a trap that we should worry about falling into?
I imagine there is a singular conscience viewing itself through distorted mirrors, kind of like a funhouse maze, and the distorted images are interpreted as 'others', when in truth it is viewing itself, but filtered by time and space. The joke is when that conscienceness becomes aware of the funhouse and laughs at the sillyness of the whooe charade. In that moment, I imagine the realization of lonelieness once the laughter wears off leads them to reenter the funhouse again in search of truth.
I wish i could get a reading order on the most important books about self realization. I started with the upanishads, bhagavad gita and basic Buddhist text, but it would be of great help
No. Good and evil are not just "points of view". There's tons of interpretations on good and evil which truly are points of view but the things in and of themselves are not. What is truly good is fairly easy to spot, it's evil that's the tricky bit, which fits with it's nature, but when you see it there's no mistaking it. If you don't think it's real then you've never seen it, and if someone calls something that's evil good because it benefits them or they're something like a sadist then it's their lens that's distorted. That doesn't prove it's not real. I hesitate to even mention this due to not really wanting to spread knowledge of it around and if you actually go looking for it you'll probably get noticed by more than a few government agencies, but there's a recording that exists called "Daisy's Destruction". I've never seen it and do not want to but the descriptions I've heard are more than enough to make anyone physically ill. All I'll say is it's child abuse of the worst kind and it apparently goes on for a long time, to the point where the child becomes mentally broken. Ever hear of the "pit of despair" experiments with monkeys? It's like that except worse. That is what evil looks like. That's not "a point of view". That's evil and it's real.
If, for whatever reason, I am banished to an island and am only allowed to take one book (preferably also a pair of reading glasses) with me, then that is the Ashtavakra samhita. :)
When you find true bliss that's when it's time to start to pay more attention to what's going on in the real world! If you don't eat, you will be eaten!
Actually the ultimate truth of Oneness is irrelevant to the purpose of the Universe and Human beings. The One that we are all little parts of, went to great lengths to form the illusion of individuality so we could find out how it feels to meet a mysterious other. Why? Because the One was over being One. The One had done everything that's interesting as One. Then looking for something new and interesting the One wondered how it would feel to meet a mysterious other. I realized this while in full samadhi. This means that each human being and the universe was formed to explore meeting mysterious others and what makes that possible is duality in which the One divides everything into opposite polarities that emerge from the central Oneness that is all that actually exists. However, with a dualistic reality and individual humans who express masculine and feminine qualities like light and dark, hot and cold, hard and soft, etc. we are able to discover something the One didn't know, how it feels to meet a mysterious other. In fact, the One designed the Universe and Humans so that we would effortlessly explore meeting mysterious others. We do it all the time, and through us the One is learning about relationships of all sorts. At this point, love has become the most interesting relationship dynamic of all. So to explore love more fully, a new era is about to begin. Most of humanity will be removed from the Earth to fulfill their desires in the astral heavens. Meanwhile, those who have learned to open their heart (the atman or inner god who resides in the heart), follow their heart (intuition and conscience) and open to love will inherit the earth to experience a new era of peace and love. Obviously the so called spiritual masters who think that escaping the illusion of individuality it the goal are very mistaken. They are actually cheating to avoid their purpose. I've had three full samadhi experiences, I know how glorious it is. However the most wonderful samadhi came while I was practicing Red Tantra with my beloved for a week, making love for hours every day in nature. We became one and the Universe disappeared leaving my awareness in a dark void, then the explosion of an infinite orgasm produced the most amazing experience ever. My solo samadhis where less amazing, far less. It's all about duality, embracing the other and opening to love. That is our purpose. Escape if you want. Forgo your purpose. You have free will.
I don’t know if I am “awakened” or not. I have no way to tell. However, I do remember in the first grade, my mother driving me home, I realized the nature of concept duality. I think it was basic things - colors like black / white, or hot / cold. I much later I realized that our brains operate exactly like a computer - which is based on “0” vs. “1” - e.g. binary duality. All your perceptions are comparisons of neural circuits in your brain, so ultimately all your ideas, thoughts, ideas are dualistic at their cores. Basic feelings like pain or grief or ecstasy are different - they are what they are and not derived from memory. So, you can’t avoid thinking in dualistic terms. You just have to treat ideas like tools - a hammer, a level, a tape measure, so on. Everything you think is relative. The bigget snow-job though is the “Mind/Body” problem. There’s no “real” difference between them - just two concepts with different associations, and thinking they are fundamentally different is just an illusion.
It seems obvious what is said in this video. Not that I can master this mindset or no mindset but maybe because I’ve seen and heard so many videos saying this 😅👍 even from this channel
This seems to be the crux of spirituality. I struggle with this whole subject that you discuss in this video. These teachings seem to come from a central source and spread out around the world. That being said…….. here’s where I take some issue. We are facing organized evil that is set to digitize humanity. Do we just sit and allow this? The warrior faces this evil. We swat flies and we fight evil-not out of fear. The Scythians saw everyone as brothers but they beat down evil as it reared its ugly head. I’m reading that I am in duality or is it reality? This organized evil has highjacked the holographic world we find ourselves in. Can we swat the fly? Did MLK waste his and our time? Help?
The warrior most prepared to fight the apparent evil in the world is the one who has no violence within themselves. To talk of peace while refusing to have it themselves is absurd. I believe a wise of old once said, “Be the change you wish to see.” The more clarity we have regarding reality as viewed from a personal perspective and reality as seen from the standpoint of the Absolute, the more effective our responses are to the challenges of life. When we function from our natural state, every action is far more appropriate and efficient than one coming from a place of confusion and conflict. To protest, or join marches for or against what you feel is right has little to do with living in freedom. Freedom is not for the person but from the person. Get yourself out of the way and the web of confusion about what to do or not to do are swept aside. The takeaway is to not contribute to the madness and chaos we see in the world by taking yourself out of it. A Sage who knows who and what they are is no longer capable of intentionally harming another because they inhabit a different world to those who are bogged down in duality. A Sage is free from delusion. This does not mean he or she won't take up the sword if that is the most compassionate and wise thing to do.
@@Hermit-lo7bw wow. Thanks for sharing and please work with me on this. It seems crazy to do nothing while our fellow man is being abused. I’m seeing rabbi’s who are into the Kabbalah saying we need to help our fellow man right now-speaking in the context of Israel destruction of Palestine. I see a crime against one being a crime against all. So interesting that we are consciousness putting on a meat suit to enjoy materialism and the goal of the sage is to be less than we are outside of the meat suit. What a disappointment for the creator that enjoys his view through the eyes of all his creations……. Having one go offline doesn’t seem like the goal. So am I understanding that the sage is going to do nothing to help his fellow man or countryman. If this is the case then I am opting for the illusion because it seems like a more human and just way of going about this life. Help?
@@Hermit-lo7bw I am really interested in this line of thinking but I cant grasp the doing nothing part. We are here to create from what I read. Can’t do that by doing nothing. My car doesn’t wash itself when it’s dirty. I have to discipline my child to instill in him the way to live on Earth and not suffer an early death by doing stupid things. Where does doing nothing fit. I know Rammdas had issue with the suffering and he spoke of the duality of being the victim and the criminal and then being the singular perfection behind the two. I love both but wrong is wrong and needs to be stopped. Help
@@paulewog857 Ultimately, the Sage is the only one who can truly help another because he or she is operating from reality. Seen as they are functioning from a position of truth, whatever they do can only be helpful. However, compassion can cut like a knife and also appear to be as cold as ice. The Sage, like nature, can often appear to be ruthless in the eyes of one who lacks clarity. The invitation they extend to the seeker has the very real potential to free them from suffering once and for all. They do not offer a mere relief from sorrow that lasts for a moment but for the rest of their life. An ordinary person, lost in duality can never really know if their action will lead to help or not. They are not in a condition to see the wider picture. So many times have people tried to help only to make the situation worse. At some point, we must be humble enough to admit we don’t know what the correct action is. Not for this reason do we stop trying to help if within our hearts we are moved to do so. If we see someone suffering, help them and be quick about it as my guru would say, but don’t do it in expectation of reward or result. A selfless motive is all important. In fact, if we do not follow the intuitive urges we feel deeply within ourselves, we may invite all manner of suffering in the form of guilt, shame, anger, anxiety, despair, etc. The key here is to realize our limitations, do what we can, and then leave the result in the hands of God (so to speak). Consider the natural world, where necessity decides the action. In nature, we observe that life tends to meet the needs of the moment. If any system, including the human body, is out of equilibrium, natural forces work in unison to restore the lost balance, harmony, and unity. A Sage functions in accord with their natural, selfless state. It is in this way that we are to understand how it is possible to do without doing. When we act without selfish intention then the action is not personal and effortful but an impersonal, effortless doing….performed by no one. This is how nature acts and how we can align ourselves with the Dao, Way, God, or whatever other name we wish to call the Absolute Reality.
@@Hermit-lo7bw thank you so very very much. I can say that I love hard and I highly dislike hurt of anyone or anything. I’m stuck in duality. I can see the perfection in the singularity and it’s nice when I can get and stay there for a moment. I just feel like it’s not enough. When I had my awakening I took every red pill I could. My world turned inside out. I studied the evil ones in hope to see them coming. I hear of their handiwork every minute of every day. I also see the beauty of the sunrise, a tree, a plant in my garden my friends, etc. I heard what you said about help perhaps being a hindrance. I want to say I understand but I just can’t live it. I’m understand that I’m not ready as a sage or a guru has not found me…… is it okay for me to seek them. I really enjoy Taoism but perhaps I’m just going through the motions
Its all in the level of bodmas (÷×+-) so in this space there exists God divided and multiplied himself into man animals trees and insects which can only add, while death or the devil subtracts This world is just an expanded bracket ) Being reduced shows the experience of how big it is 😊
to say 'do not of life and act not in life, and you'll be the best alive.' is to: "be not of life and not live in life, and shortly therein after you'll crash un-alive." most critically acclaimed monks seen in interviews and presented over social media in a non-actin format oft times don't smile, and yet when they do, "most" of those monks force their purposed happiness for the sake of the 🧿 on the front & backside of these newage electrical bricks they're so worried about...
As the saying goes : “ when In Rome be as Romans “ So when the consciousness is trapped in the human body then the consciousness has to follow the rules of the human body but doing so should not mean that the trapped consciousness should identify as the human body because the consciousness has qualities so pure and superior that no biological entities can keep up with and that’s the driving force that animates all biological beings.
Effort is exactly what it does not take to achieve it. You simply cannot do anything to achieve enlightenment because the desire itself is another obstacle. It's more accurately - an emptying. A realisation of truth, via letting all go. How you do that cannot be learned or described. Hence why Buddha pointed at knowledge and didn't explain it. Because he knew that one must obtain from the exact opposite of their own experience
Is achieving happiness at any cost a purpose for life? These Buddhist-like detachment teachings can make you delusional and unrealistic about the harsh realities around you. What if "happiness" itself was an evolutionary illusion, as a defense mechanism to survive?
Division, duality is the mechanism by which the earth plane exists and motion and evolution happens. It is far from stupid. Although as an enlightened individual you can see duality from a higher perspective and not be controlled by it, you see it for what it is which is sacred in the process of creation. I would select another word other than stupid.
Um.......so what's the universal joke? I kinda feel mislead from your thumbnail.....should it be more about "duality explained"? Ananda is cool! And I think I've found it,it also is a funny joke. I am plagued by negative thoughts, Embarrassing moments, stupid stuff ive done. After enduring so much, just to not think becomes extremely pleasurable😂

Thank you for this information. You presented it very clearly and I enjoyed listening to you. I think I need to hear more. Thank you
Beautifully explained. 🙏🏽
Thank you!
Blessings 🙏🏼💜💫
This vairagya is easily possible after Enlightenment, but struggle is the only way until we achieve the enlightenment.
That which comes of itself. ANANDA... thanks first i've heard it this way.
Thank you, that was very helpful!
❤YES AND AMEN 🙏 THANK YOU...!! "GOING WITH THE FLOW."..I PAINTED A PAINTING OF THE OCEAN WAVE AND NAMED IT THAT....MEDITATION IS A MUST...!!!
The Construct that defines material life is so simple and that is the joke itself. We are flesh encapsulations of the nothingness of space. Space is divided into flesh embodiments. Contained within these embodiments is the same only space. But we forget and think we are the embodiments, instead of the space embodied.
Amazing!!!
Very well said, even some indian gurus can't explain this so easily but you did very well 🙏🏼
I have to keep reminding myself ...how am I thinking atmo because things are just happening I am just witnessing and who is I anyway..easy for me to get caught up in my character/ego😅
@@india9unknown thank you for your reply
@@peterweston1356 Appreciate your contribution THANKS
I felt an understanding of what you are pointing to, like a recognition and a glimpse of deeper understanding 🙏.
Fantastic 💕🙏🌏
Detachment is one of them, along with “Enlightenment” or “Awakening,” and “Liberation” or “Salvation.”
Detachment, from a ‘spiritual’ perspective, does not mean one becomes a cold, uncaring arsehole.
The division between Maya and Brahman is also part of this.
wow!!!! amazingly explained,
Love it, subscribed. HariBol
The true meaning of ‘I am That’ is a pointing, a mantra, which is getting the I to collapse the binary between I and that, or the other. ‘I am that otherness’ is another way to say it. Once ‘that ness’ and ‘I ness’ are unified then we shed the mask and relax back into our underlying pre dual being
Very good. Thank you.
The mind is a physical thing. All physical things can be altered. Life is, quite literally, what you make it.
All realize value. Few value realization. The realization of being is of value. Existence is of everything in the process of being. Experience being (the verb). The realization of being is in the experience of being. Simply be. The Creator is in the process of being: join in.
Ashtawakra geeta ( Sri Ram time.. end of *Tretayug*) came before Krishna Geeta ( Mahabharat war time ..end of *Dwaparyug*).. we are in *Kalyug*..
Osho says Krishna Geeta is for 95% of people and Astawakra Geeta is for 5%..
enlightment is not far .. it can happen right here right now.. it has always been.. u cant find anything which u have never lost.. its there.. -Ashtawakra
Local from Mt. Kailash 🙏
To many words and name droppings to explain a simple truth. 😊
School - I sure don't want to come back to the human zoo ! learnt to detach and watch the show , characters indeed !
3:20 holy shit the story of Adam and Eve and the tree of knowledge of good and evil makes way more sense now when you connect this to that
Enjoy duality. Life is experience, adventure, chills and thrills, gamble, hazard, risk, challenge, not boring, and then you die.
I knew someone who did the opposite but they still died.
Ahhh... You seem to understand that all which is born of fertile maya matrix is dukkha...samsara!6:13
Om Namah Shivaya

Be happy

what is opposite of Ananda?
I believe a wise of old once said, “Be the change you wish to see.”
The more clarity we have regarding reality as viewed from a personal perspective and reality as seen from the standpoint of the Absolute, the more effective our responses are to the challenges of life.
Its all in the level of bodmas (÷×+-) so in this space there exists God divided and multiplied himself into man animals trees and insects which can only add, while death or the devil subtracts
This world is just an expanded bracket )
Being reduced shows the experience of how big it is 😊
to say 'do not of life and act not in life, and you'll be the best alive.' is to: "be not of life and not live in life, and shortly therein after you'll crash un-alive." most critically acclaimed monks seen in interviews and presented over social media in a non-actin format oft times don't smile, and yet when they do, "most" of those monks force their purposed happiness for the sake of the 🧿 on the front & backside of these newage electrical bricks they're so worried about...
As the saying goes : “ when In Rome be as Romans “
So when the consciousness is trapped in the human body then the consciousness has to follow the rules of the human body but doing so should not mean that the trapped consciousness should identify as the human body because the consciousness has qualities so pure and superior that no biological entities can keep up with and that’s the driving force that animates all biological beings.
Are the antological concepts of truth and justice affected by this?
Duality doesnt even come close to time. Progression and reflection do. Might as well throw the marriage blanket out the window on inspiration as well.
Pls tell about Sankhya Yog and Dvait Vedant

Good Luck with that effort
Effort is exactly what it does not take to achieve it.
You simply cannot do anything to achieve enlightenment because the desire itself is another obstacle.
It's more accurately - an emptying. A realisation of truth, via letting all go.
How you do that cannot be learned or described. Hence why Buddha pointed at knowledge and didn't explain it. Because he knew that one must obtain from the exact opposite of their own experience
I neither liked nor disliked this video
It only looks good on paper
Is achieving happiness at any cost a purpose for life? These Buddhist-like detachment teachings can make you delusional and unrealistic about the harsh realities around you. What if "happiness" itself was an evolutionary illusion, as a defense mechanism to survive?
it's also a state embodied by the fish in my fish tank
I bought a pizza and it said you can not cook this pizza in a microwave. I just did😊
Unattachment is still duality
Division, duality is the mechanism by which the earth plane exists and motion and evolution happens. It is far from stupid. Although as an enlightened individual you can see duality from a higher perspective and not be controlled by it, you see it for what it is which is sacred in the process of creation. I would select another word other than stupid.
👌❤️
Its almost a pity an Australian knows Ashtavakra Gita but I never met a Hindu who does.
