im srilankan too . Im not saying mr sadugar lied i think he dont know real story .
True buddhism still have in sri lanka and its a philosophy we can see it own , and there is so many benifit and if you go in correct path its a miracle you can see you own you can feel it we can find iternal happiness. How ever in this story have many difference than true one. ( Sorry about my English I’m not fluent and I’m saying very shortly)
Lord buddha before become enlighten we say prince siddartha , so prince siddartha after he leave kingdom he followed different teachers "asitha" , " "alara kalama" uddakarama putta "
Like that very famous teachers who achive or reach to some kind levels.
Prince siddartha he learn from them but he understood by follow them he cannot find what he looking for .
Then he go alone to find truth .
This is moment that five person coming to help prince siddartha
    Kondangha
    Vappa
    Baddiya
    Mahanama
    Assagi
Are there names . They want to help prince siddartha to find truth and they also wanted to here the truth .
Same this time prince siddartha start yo do " dushkarak kriya" its mean not giving to body good thing giving only suffer , because he already knew by giving so many good thing to body cannot do it he is a prince of a kingdom before . So he follow that moment giving suffer to body .
And he become very weak and he realize this way he only will due nothing else will happen . If he want achive what he looking need to be good healthy . So he start to eat again and he followed middle path . Middle path is not giving too good to body and not giving suffer also to body .
When he start to go this path that five people thought prince siddartha stop that searching the true way . Because siddartha again eating .so they left siddartha .they thought he will not find anything after 6 years they left .
but one day siddartha when he keep going in middle path by his wisdome he awake 4 wise
    1 -Nevasancha nasanchayathana
    2-Pubbe nivasachanyatanaya
And two more wise talents i dont remember names right now .
How ever as a example one of this wise talent he can see all the past and futher . And when he keep searching from those wise talents he figure out satara satipattanaya
    Paticcha samuppadaya
And other all the truth of life and he search how to finish this all. How to end this all suffer and he figure out all the thing and he find niravana and became enlightment and become a lord buddha .
After he become lord buddha One god coming to meet him and requesting ,inviting respectfully tell to other that what he figure out .
Lord Buddha search his old teachers from his wise latents .but unfortunately they are not a live . Then lord buddha after 7 weak leaving to find that five people (we say them "pas vaga mahanun")
When lord buddha reach them first they thinking he's coming back to ask there help to find truth so we will not care when he come,
But when lord buddha reach them they automatically welcome him.
And that moment lord buddha first time first sutra
"Dammachakka pavattana sutra "included by "four iternal truth "
    1-Suffer
    2-Reasons for suffer
    3-How to remove suffer
4-The way of removing suffer ( that mean 8 fold path )
Every lord buddha is find same thing
And we are searching how to achieve nirvana.
    Brothers it’s really true path
If you catch from correct corner even on the way it’s will make you happy no place to suffer yes that’s true to totally end suffer we have to reach until at least “ rahath “
This is a process step by step we need to reach
Became rahath also person who achieve nirvana .
All Buddhist monk ( real monk) tries to reach rahath if they cannot reach at least first step we need to achieve .
    1 st achievement is
    “ SOWAAN“
    2-SAKURDHA GAAMI”
    3 -“ANAAGAMI”
    4- “ARHATH OR RAHATH
It’s ok to follow stories and there is so many stories but Lord Buddha said follow the path and achieve nirvana don’t be late even one second. And it’s possible.
TRipitaka is the three book that all what buddha told written. Until now it’s protected and still taking benefit Sri lanka you’ll find real one. But even our country also very less understand or getting benefits of it.

'The answer is very much implicit in the narrative itself ! What's absolutely required is - proper application of mind ! The meaning and significance of the deep thought underneath the noble ideals of Lord Gautama Budha, as reflected herein above, is so exhaustive, broad - based, and all - encompassing that it hardly leaves any scope for any further explanation, whatsoever ! However, it's an altogether different issue, if someone feigns ignorance intentionally !

Painful is birth again & again. House-builder, you're seen! You will not build a house again. All your rafters broken, the ridge pole destroyed, gone to the Unformed, the mind has come to the end of craving." - Dhp 153-4 He was alone. Buddhism is not a religion.
Buddhism is a education of wisdom.
    Buddha is our teacher.
Teach us how to leave sufferings and attain happiness.
    Teach deluded to become awakend.
    Teach ignorance to become wise.
    Teach selfish to become compassionate.
    Teach greedy to become generous.
Teach shallow minded to become magnanimous.
    Teach superstitious the truth.
All these benefits will bring you instant happiness.
These are the current benefits one will obtain.
If one cannot enjoy these benefits now, what is the point of learning?

    already left him

The end of seeking is enlightment, realizing there was no answer or solution in the first place, yet we will continue to seek an answer or a way for our life.
Life's meaning is simply what you make it and nothing else. There's nothing to find, nowhere to get to. You are already there, but you just don't know it yet.
Keep seeking...one day you'll understand if you're really being honest with yourself through and through 🌗

Needless to say that true enlightenment is synonymous with simplicity, humility, sagacity, and wisdom - as exemplified by the legendary gurus of yesteryears - like Lord Gautama Budha and Swami Vivekanandji - for instance - among others ! For such divinely traits, they are still being remembered by the people and held in very high esteem ! Someone of the caliber and brilliance of Lord Gautama Budha and Swami Vivekanandji is born only once in several centuries !
It goes without saying that it's not absolutely necessary on the part of someone to indulge in - any sort of chest - thumping - or - shout from the rooftop - to get noticed ! Real greatness comes out into the open on its own ! No one can cover it up for long - however hard and long one may try !
How right was someone in his assessment in saying - "Respect has to be earned ; not commanded !"

Hi Everyone, I’m usually not a person to comment these things on RUclips. But, With all respect I must say this story is not completely true.
Buddhism is not a joke. It is the only true discovery of life, existing in this world, for this world.
Therefore one should not make false statements about any event of the life of Supreme Buddha, because people are listening to learn the truth but not some jokes to laugh.
Five of his companions left the Buddha long before his enlightenment, because they did not like him starting to follow the middle path. They thought that he is falling in to a luxury life giving up his effort-fulness.
Lord Buddha was all by him self that night when he stood against the whole universe of unwholesome, and conquered the entire world and became enlightened. Not a single sole was brave enough to stay anywhere near while he was winning the war against Maara all by him self.
After that night, he spent 7 weeks revising what he realised and confirming that what he realised had never being realised by any human, god or Brahma ever in the past, present or in the future.
After he confirmed that this is the ultimate liberation of mind, the Nibbana, first thing he thought was, “there will be no one in this world who would realise what I just realised, because, the effort I’ve put in to this is not something everyone can do, or everyone wants to do. “ lord Buddha did not really want to tell this to anyone, because there was no one who could understand what he had to say.
“ He opened his eyes and said cook something” ????
That is an insult you’ve done to the greatest teacher in human history.

If you are a bhuddist then you know its not good to influence another persons beliefs. This isnt the way to go. I am coming from a different perspective that is unique. This man saw Bhuddhi went enlightened he seperated from his 3 dimensional body. By then he perceived his subtle body but before that he saw his body as seperate from that. When he became enlightened he seperated himself from the etheric body which was rooted into his physical body. The tree was his subtle ever growing body and the ground it was rooted to was his physical body because it was from the earth. or the material. When he could seperate himself, he knew his ego or that highest self or higher self that we cannot see because we can become too attached by these ideas an concepts. He didnt see the tree. He was away from the tree and there fore he knew what he was. This person who you look down upon has gone beyond concepts and he understood this great imagination. The more you argue with what I said the more you solidfy your concepts and the more you are from bhudda. you can be a bhuddist but this man is more bhuddist than you

The reality of a samma sambudhu was to transcend the two natures through vipassana, which is the emancipation of turning towards oneself and discovering who one is.
The obtuseness caused by not knowing one's own ignorance, part by part, little by little, is the practice of being honest with oneself.
Many things were spent by you, Sadhguru, in that great message as a blessing.🙏
If it is a blessing to go deep within oneself, then it must surely be a blessing.
If everything is wise, simple and ordinary.
    Buddha is nature itself.
It is not to used to make a story .🔑.🔑.

To those making negative comments. Please know you will come across so many stories and characters in Vedic scriptures. Have you read the Bhagavad Gita? There are many interpretations. For example, Swami Mukundananda is a good story teller. I enjoy Sadhguru's talks very much. I don't think there is any reason to think he is trying to mislead anyone. Was the title of this video 'click bait'? Yes. Are some parts of this story made up? No doubt. But there is inspiration in the overall message. Peace and love to you.

Uhm, no. first words of Guatama after he became Buddha were very different and very significant. he touched the ground with his hand and said: "The earth is my witness." which in context might look like the same, because of anamayakosha being the food body and the earth being its source, but it is not the same. how is it different? Guatama becoming Buddha is an ultimate witness. and yet he said:"the earth is my witness." there are two ways to approach this. one way is to say, the earth is the first one to witness and celebrate his transformation. i like that one and it is a valid one. but I like the second one even more. becoming Buddha he is the ultimate witness, but he is still in a human body that belongs to Earth. therefore, the Earth itself is witnessing him as a Buddha.
it is both. the Earth was the first to recognize him as a Buddha (as a witness of this event) and the Earth being the witness of a Buddha. the Earth being the conscious being, greater than any individual being as long as they are in the body that came from the Earth. in other words, what Buddha is saying is: "I'm witnessing everything and the Earth is witnessing me."
"cook something, let's eat" is a fabrication and frankly a BS ." Earth is MY witness" is a profound message.

If you don't know buddhism, please don't talk about it.
As per advice:- Well, after the enlightment, Lord Buddha preached the Dhammachakkappavattana Sutta. This teaching is about the four noble truth.
    1. Truth about suffering.
    2. Truth about the cause of suffering.
    3. Truth about the end of suffering.
    4. Truth about the way to end the suffering.
    (Truth about suffering)
Birth, getting old, gettig sick, death, grief, lamentation, physical pain, emotional pain, exhaustion, having to live with things and people you hate, having to separate from things and people you like, not getting what you want.
(Truth about the cause of suffering)
Attachments - Your love, your desire and your greed for everything and everyone including yourself is the cause of suffering.
(Truth about the end of suffering)
Eliminating your all attachments that cause the suffering, so you will never be born in this samsara filled with pain as you attain nirvana.
(Truth about the way to end the suffering)
In the world, in the same way that there is light to end darkness, cold to end heat, and medicine to end disease, there is also a way to end suffering, and that path is called the Noble Eightfold Path.

    Do not believe what you have heard;
do not believe in the traditions, because they had been handed down for generations; do not believe in anything because it is rumoured and spoken by many; do not believe merely because a written statement of some old sage is produced; do not believe in conjectures; do not believe in that as truth to which you have become attached by habit; do not believe merely the authority of your teachers and elders. But after observation and analysis, when it agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and gain of one and all, only then accept it and live up to it.

Enlightenment has "light" word in it. That light was shining from Buddha's forehead 2600 years back in that moment and still is shining and spreading far and beyond. It has another word "lighten" means we have to lighten our hearts from the baggage of Anger, Greed, Lust, Delusion, Jealousy, Hatred and Selfish Desires. Today If we lose 10 dollars we regret and feel bad about it. Him leaving a palace and wandering like an ascetic in forests in search of truth takes courage, dedication and extraordinary willpower. What Buddha has achieved 2.6 millenia back no human can ever achieve. He is the greatest man ever walked on earth.

Like an eagle which can spot an ant from kilometers away. People are unnecesssarily commenting on what he talks or relates etc etc without knowing the essence of his talk. They are slaves of the critical critic mind. Sees everything around with suspicion and not as they are. Try to be child like, then you will see the universe as it is and an enlightened human being in an ordinary looking human being like Sadguru.

if sidharta gautama still live today , he will realy sad to see how his teaching become division , mahayana , theravada , etc etc, and people claim this teaching is better then other , many people learn to become buddhist , with aim to become liberated / moksa ,and forget there is many way to become moksa , from extreme version of suffering to extreme version of debauchery, that why Gautama call his way is middle way , do not speak dharma , because dharma just word if one just talk without doing anything, and to be honest , what Gautama practice and teaching is called sanatha dharma . and he try to create the simple his own version how to apply that in real life situation so even commoner or nobody can do it also , and attain nirvana simply by creating peace of mind , for nirvana or dukkha start from human mind . I dont know about Sadghuru who he is , but he clearly walk in the path of dharma and practice dharma everyday, for he do the same Gautama done thousand years ago , by try inclusive people into to his plan , the dharma plan , doing something that help many people. Welcome to the Kali Yuga everybody , the end times , when Gautama real teaching will become forgotten , replaced by dogma and dharma just word without actual meaning anymore nowadays

Very educative. I love your videos. Please allow me to interrupt. I do research on how Buddhism disappeared in Bihar. I realized it never disappeared from Bihar. Buddhists simply failed to research Indian Buddhism. They looked at Buddhism through the sphere of their own cultures searching for only the Buddha. Buddha had a myriad of names in different villages according to his teachings there. Example. His favorite teaching was 'Lust and desire causes pain. Remove lust and desire, and pain is removed'. Translated into Bihari (where the Buddha story took place) it is DHUKH HARAN meaning to remove dukha. Three dozen villages pray to DUKH HARAN Baba. Its clear that DUKH HARAN Baba is none other than the Buddha. Problem is Buddhists are searching only for the Buddha. In the real Vaishali the Buddha begged for alms. The locals there pray to 'BHIKHAINI' Baba (Beggar Baba). Bhikhaini was mispronounced by Buddhists as Bhikshu. Who is BHIKHAINI Baba. The Buddha no doubt. But people are searching for a man called Buddha. In the real Vaishali, in Beluha the Buddha suffered a sickness and felt he had grown old. The locals pray to 'BURHA' Baba (Old Baba). Who is BURHA Baba. The Buddha no doubt. In the real Vaishali the Lichavies pressurized Buddha not to die. They trailed him to Bandagawan pressurizing him not to die. To put pressure in Hindi is DABESHWAR. Three dozen villages around the stupa where Buddha gave the Lichavies his patra, the villagers pray to Baba 'DABESHWAR NATH' meaning the man who won the pressurizing game. It was the the Buddha no doubt as he gave the Lichavies his patra and succeded in sending them back. But Buddhists are searching for the Buddha. In Pidhauli (Vaishali) the local deity is Bardiha Baba. Bardiha means the Baba who didn't allow us to stay where he was staying. Bardiha Baba is the Buddha no doubt because he didn't allow the crowd of Lichavies to stay with him in Bandagama. Forgive me for commenting out of the topic. I just wanted to impart this information to Buddhists.

“Jesus said, 'Let one who seeks not stop seeking until one finds. When one finds, one will be troubled. When one is troubled, one will marvel and will reign over all, and having reigned, one will rest.'”
Regardless of who actually spoke, notice that even though separated by culture, language and 500 years, two separate individuals declare precisely the same insight! Peace to all.

Listen to your own voice first.
And then the reasons he constantly made your self
    find out
Through all the hurt through the experiences so far.
The mind is happy, sad, or happy
    Hurting in life
    That it was a distraction
Being felt is also a blessing.
So, turn to yourself and self-study about yourself, in a way that you have never thought about before
It is good to wake up with your own mind to break your delusion about stopping. 🔑
But it is not sidelined, but finding oneself while adapting to everyday, practical life, if it is good, then it is the way of reality.
Getting the key is a blessing.
The voice within oneself (Dhamma) is the manifestation of one's nature to you through that voice.
To stop and turn to oneself and to make one's own liberation is to search for oneself beyond the visible and to overcome one's restlessness 🔑🙏
    Pranam jv .
    Amashanthi 🔑🙏 Srilanka 🔑

Sadhguru doesnt read Taisho Tripitaka. The first words uttered by Buddha after His Perfect and Complete Enlightenment are: "strange indeed! (3 times); all living beings have the Buddha nature. All can become Buddhaa. It is only due to false thinking and attachments that they do not certify to attainment."

    AFTER WATCHING THIS VIDEO:
    1. The five ascetics who followed Prince Siddhartha, were in Sarnath (154.7 miles / 249 km away) when He attained complete Enlightenment in modern-day Bodhgaya.
    2. It was in the early hours of dawn. He had no company, no "people waiting for him to speak" at that time.
    3. By claiming that the Buddha collapsed after attaining complete Enlightenment at that time, that He asked "Let us make some food": This is a subtle attempt to belittle, and mock, a landmark event in human civilization.
The fact that the audience is laughing at this shows they have absolutely no idea that a historical fact is being knowingly or unknowingly misrepresented to them.
This is also a subtle dig at this same audience, telling them 'I know you fellows know nothing about Indian history, and I can spin you all I want.'
    4. He had collapsed in such a way, once, as Sadguru says. That was much earlier. It happened at the point when He realized spiritual liberation does not come from practicing austerities alone. He had been doing record-breaking austerities and penances, for six years, till that point. (It was at this point that He started accepting wholesome food and the six ascetics, who had followed Him in admiration till that point, deserted Siddhartha and went away in disillusion.)
Hence that incident did not happen the first thing after His Enlightenment, as Sadguru claims. He makes this claim just to make a crude joke about the highest point in Prince Siddhartha's life and one of the momentous events in human history.
From these verifiable mistake on facts, it is clear that Sadguru is not accurate on facts about the Buddha and about Buddhism in this and in almost all his other talks about Buddhism that I have watched. These factual inaccuracies also suggest that, wonderful as he is at captivating Western audiences in subjects they have no familiarity with, Sadguru has hidden animus against Buddhism.

    1. Do your art (profession/worketc) with full passion and concentration, don't wait for results even if it is going to destroy you. Master your art.
    2. Have resolve to make plan of your work and see to it's completion 100%
    3. Be flexible in your art, you should be able to learn things from experience and become malleable.

Guru ji imparts interesting stories.
