Maybe I'm alone on this, but Sadhguru has a way of rarely actually directly answering the question made by the Rabbi. When asked a challenging question, he immediately goes to storytelling-but the story, while impactful, doesn't actually address the question being asked.

It's not like other religions that some person is imposing their beliefs into u. It's a way of life, it teaches to seek answers by urself. Back in the day before we came up with filtered water everyone was drinking beers wine and ciders instead because it was safer, even the kids. Humans have always struggled especially under "natural" conditions.

He has always been pleasant even when faced against Atheists in conversations like IQ squared debates on NPR. Rabbi Wolpe is a leading thinker in the Jewish community. I can say that as Christian hes very enlightening brother.

You do have to give it to the Rabbi he not only remembers Sadh's points but formulates questions while still processing more info, it's called active listening, but essentially what you have is fluidity meeting rigidity I don't follow Saddhguru but I still like to observe presentation and see what's going on behind the debate like body language and how to cleverly weave out of trick questions.

The Rabbi was so humble in his engagement with Sadhguru. He was truly trying to understand Sadhguru's lens and experience which brought out so much wealth in the discussion.
In this video, Sadhguru was asking someone "Do you believe in God", and he was encouraging people to not to believe anything unless you see it. There are so many things we can't have empirical experience, but they are there. Because humans have 4 defects. There is Supreme personality of Godhead/Krishna who has created the whole creation and so merciful divine father for all of us. If I have never seen my father, can anyone say, that I came out of nothing. He is the biggest fool or rascal number one. It is a 4 day crash course into yoga practice and at the very end he "plants the seed" on your mind. Its not one o one. Large groups instead but still very efective. I am much more self aware, meaning I can stop negative thoght processes in the beginning (b4 they would last for days). Considering those thoghts drove be to suicidal depression on the past, it has been a huge progress for me. On the down side, made me rethink all my carreer choices and leave everything behind. Trying to figure out what to do next.

those were not the last lines. and you misunderstand light, in this case. light only reveals what is close to you. light obscures the stars...the whole of the universe. light is selective. what the guru said was that his partner onstage had seen the light and it blinded him....to which there was no response.

The Guru seems to be concerned with people knowing the absolute truth and knowing they have control of these truths rather than allowing emotions to run you.. I agree.
I appreciate the Rabbi heard him out each time, even if the answer appeared to be a little far-fetched. Patience is rare these days. Many modern interviewers just ask questions in order to make their point, camouflaging their own statements as qestions, for the purpose of getting confirmation. Yet the Rabbi really exploorded the mind and wisdom of his conversation partner. Much to the benefit of the audience.

@@matsyadevidasi i agree with you, I am a gnostic Christian. It is important to me to acknowledge the Supreme being that we are all drawn to and that is inside of us. Without these notions, it is hard to understand things like Matrix control system, presence of angels and demons, and even the presence of ill willed extraterrestrials and good willed extraterrestrials. Not everything is mysticism, not everything is only inside of us. Let's say I suddenly get horrible violent thoughts. Chances are there is some outside influence and I have to deal with it and "fight" it. Psychic attacks, possessions do happen. Not long ago, I got rid of an entity during one of my cultivation methods. These things should be known and acknowledged. If you simply ignore something, it does not mean it will avoid you.

A Sadguru, is a Guru. You do not prefix it with any such salutation. In Indian tradition a Sadguru is defined as a True Guru who is made by this creation for you. And as per this tradition it is said that when you reach that stage of “evolvement”, he comes in search of you to nudge you in the right path. It is left for you to figure out if he truly is a Sadguru or not.
Mortal men at best are men. Who eventually will die. Hence pls don’t place your trust in mortal men. Find the one who is immortal and faithful even when we are unfaithful .

Sadh is supposed to guide you towards a state of mind where you will not need anyone else to teach you anything or tell you how or when to react. Instead, You would be able to make decisions on your own. So you dont need to see towards Sadh once you learn that thing from him.
Try to ask answer of your question from inner you and validate it with outer world. If that answer work out for all similar question, You are on correct path/answer.

The King Is Like Other Mortals
7 I also am mortal like everyone else,
a descendant of the first-formed child of earth,
and in the womb of a mother I was molded into flesh,
2 within the period of ten months, compacted with blood,
from the seed of a man and the pleasure of marriage.
3 And when I was born, I began to breathe the common air
and fell upon the kindred earth;
my first sound was a cry, as is true of all.
4 I was nursed with care in swaddling cloths.
5 For no king has had a different beginning of existence;
6 there is for all one entrance into life and one way out.
Respect for Wisdom
7 Therefore I prayed, and understanding was given me;
I called on God, and the spirit of wisdom came to me.
8 I preferred her to scepters and thrones,
and I accounted wealth as nothing in comparison with her.
9 Neither did I liken to her any priceless gem,
because all gold is but a little sand in her sight,
and silver will be accounted as clay before her.
10 I loved her more than health and beauty,
and I chose to have her rather than light
because her radiance never ceases.
11 All good things came to me along with her,
and in her hands uncounted wealth.
12 I rejoiced in them all because wisdom leads them,
but I did not know that she was their mother.
13 I learned without guile, and I impart without grudging;
I do not hide her wealth,
14 for it is an unfailing treasure for mortals;
those who get it obtain friendship with God,
commended for the gifts that come from instruction.
Prayer for Wisdom
15 May God grant me to speak with judgment
and to have thoughts worthy of what I have received,
for he is the guide even of wisdom
and the corrector of the wise.
16 For both we and our words are in his hand,
as are all understanding and skill in crafts.
17 For it is he who gave me unerring knowledge of what exists,
to know the structure of the world and the activity of the elements,
18 the beginning and end and middle of times,
the alternations of the solstices and the changes of the seasons,
19 the cycles of the year and the constellations of the stars,
20 the natures of animals and the tempers of wild animals,

The Nature of Wisdom
There is in her a spirit that is intelligent, holy,
unique, manifold, subtle,
agile, clear, unpolluted,
distinct, invulnerable, loving the good, keen,
23 irresistible, beneficent, humane,
steadfast, sure, free from anxiety,
all-powerful, overseeing all,
and penetrating through all spirits
that are intelligent, pure, and altogether subtle.
24 For wisdom is more mobile than any motion;
because of her pureness she pervades and penetrates all things.
25 For she is a breath of the power of God
and a pure emanation of the glory of the Almighty;
therefore nothing defiled gains entrance into her.
26 For she is a reflection of eternal light,
a spotless mirror of the working of God,
and an image of his goodness.
27 Although she is but one, she can do all things,
and while remaining in herself, she renews all things;
in every generation she passes into holy souls
and makes them friends of God and prophets,
28 for God loves nothing so much as the person who lives with wisdom.
29 She is more beautiful than the sun
and excels every constellation of the stars.
Compared with the light she is found to be more radiant,

Love for Wisdom
2 I loved her and sought her from my youth;
I desired to take her for my bride
and became enamored of her beauty.
3 She glorifies her noble birth by living with God,
and the Lord of all loves her.
4 For she is an initiate in the knowledge of God
and an associate in his works.
5 If riches are a desirable possession in life,
what is richer than wisdom, the active cause of all things?
6 And if understanding is effective,
who more than she is fashioner of what exists?
7 And if anyone loves righteousness,
her labors are virtues,
for she teaches self-control and prudence,
justice and courage;
nothing in life is more profitable for mortals than these.
8 And if anyone longs for wide experience,

Wisdom Indispensable to Rulers
9 Therefore I determined to take her to live with me,
knowing that she would give me good counsel
and encouragement in cares and grief.
10 Because of her I shall have glory among the multitudes
and honor in the presence of the elders, though I am young.
11 I shall be found keen in judgment,
and in the sight of rulers I shall be admired.
12 When I am silent they will wait for me,
and when I speak they will give heed;
if I speak at greater length,
they will put their hands on their mouths.
13 Because of her I shall have immortality
and leave an everlasting remembrance to those who come after me.
14 I shall govern peoples,
and nations will be subject to me;
15 dread monarchs will be afraid of me when they hear of me;
among the people I shall show myself capable and courageous in war.
16 When I enter my house, I shall find rest with her,
for companionship with her has no bitterness,
and life with her has no pain but gladness and joy.
17 When I considered these things inwardly
and pondered in my heart
that in kinship with wisdom there is immortality,
18 and in friendship with her, pure delight,
and in the labors of her hands, unfailing wealth,
and in the experience of her company, understanding,
and renown in sharing her words,
I went about seeking how to get her for myself.
19 As a child I was naturally gifted,
and a good soul fell to my lot,
20 or rather, being good, I entered an undefiled body.
21 But I perceived that I would not possess wisdom unless God gave her to me-
and it was a mark of insight to know whose gift she was-
so I appealed to the Lord and implored him,
and with my whole heart I said
This debate changed my mind, the way the interact the opposite idea is so natural and no offensive.
This is absolutely the best discussion between two very knowledgeable and intelligent people I've heard and the depth of questioning and reasoning is mind blowing and doing it with humor is in a class I have not seen among 2 people. Best debates ever I heard so far ...was laughing so hard when the rabbi told sadhguru just say yes as he is working here...The rabbi is so cool and compose! And kudos to Sadguru of knowing how to answer to the rabbi's question without getting defensive or angry. Instead he even made the whole audience laugh including the rabbi! This is something I'm learning how to do it as well cos I'll get quite defensive whenever ppl doesn't agree on what i have to say.. but Sadguru inspired me to change that and ....Thats the whole reason I decided to take up his online inner engineering program ...Highly recommended BTW!

Well, we become defensive or angry when someone disagrees because of our ego...a child will never become angry if we disagree..because he lacks the ego of knowledge.
