A BIG THANK YOU!!! Agreed, it's indeed a truly outstanding video, well articulated. Cheers to good health, good energy, good life! Amazing how simple it can be!
Excellent video, thank you for sharing your tips. A couple of things I'd like to add from my research & experience: 1) greens will oxidate when blending, and you will lose most of the minerals and vitamins this way; you can get a vacuum blender to prevent that. 2) you are absolutely right about water being the best liquid ingredient, but I don't necessarily think that smoothies with lots of solid ingredients taste worse. And for me, they actually simplify things: I put in most of the nutrients I need, make a huge smoothie, and drink it throughout the day. That and one solid meal is all I need during the day. Here again, having a vacuum blender helps to keep them fresh and prevent separation. 3) smoothies are great to ease your way into intermittent fasting, which is one of the best things you can do for your health.
Absolutely amazing diction. So clear and very easy to follow. I’ve just made my first green smoothie. Spinach banana pineapple flax seeds and water. Delicious. Now My go to morning breakfast. Thank you so much. Joan, Ontario, Canada
I’m so happy you don’t use protein powders I only want real food. Eating fake stuff is what got most of us in this mess. To me it feels processed and I made a vow to only ear food that comes from a garden or a field, not a jar. Thank you

Thank you so much. I tell my friends and family all the time that all I use is water (not almond milk) and they look at me like I’m crazy. My smoothies are always delicious. 😋
Great video! I'd like to add a tip. When using a Nutribullet type blender and FROZEN fruit your smoothie will blend quicker and more easily if you put the fruit in first and your greens last. That way when you flip it you blend your greens and liquid first helping the blender blend the frozen. If the fruit goes in last once you flip the liquid and frozen fruit can become a stubborn mound that just sits and whirls. At least in my experience. Happy smoothing!

Hello, Your videos are a favourite source of info for me, thank-you. I started making green smoothies to start my day about 2 months ago. I use a combo of 2 leafy greens , choosing from spinach, kale, cabbage, Swiss chard . I haven’t tried bok choy yet but plan to later. I also add celery and cucumber, an apple and a banana, 1 tbsp. cacao, I tbsp. hemp hearts, 1tbsp chia seeds , 1tsp.spirulina, juice of 1lemon, sliver of fresh turmeric and fresh ginger and 2cups water as I use a lot of veggies to make enough for 2days. After watching your video I will switch from using hemp to adding ground flax instead. I drink my green smoothies the first thing every morning. My question is, does eating all these raw veggies put you at risk of developing kidney stones as a friend recently told me it could and now I am concerned. I usually have a salad for lunch so have more raw veggies then.
Hi Claire, there is a lot of misinformation floating around out there unfortunately, and unless your friend is a medical specialist with an education in the impacts of nutrition, you always have to take such info with a grain of salt. There is so much fear-mongering out there for all the wrong reasons. Whole plant food diets, which are rich in fruits and vegetables are the MOST protective against kidney disease, stones, and pretty much anything else, including all chronic and acute diseases. Kidney stone risk is highest from low water intake and diets high in animal foods, and lowest in those who eat high fruit and veg diets. Please watch this video from Dr. Greger to educate yourself (and your friend) on this subject: nutritionfacts.org/video/flashback-friday-how-to-prevent-and-treat-kidney-stones-with-diet/ As an added tip, if you want to get the most out of your smoothies, I would definitely recommend that you make enough for the day to drink it fresh, instead of keeping for a period of 2 days. The longer that any processed or cooked plant foods sit, the more they breakdown, so we get the most nutrients out of the freshest foods.

Informative video! I wold love to know what you think about using 1. peanut butter (e.g., Smucker's natural peanut butter-sugar free), 2. cucumbers, 3. broccoli (frozen or fresh), or 4. celery in a smoothie.
Thanks so much for the nice feedback, Sammy. Here are answers to your questions: 1. Peanut butter - not the best choice for a green smoothie. Save that for your celery sticks or a healthy bread or similar something. Peanuts or peanut butter will distort the pleasant smooth and sweet flavors of the green smoothie and more importantly, they are easy to eat in other ways, and do not provide the health benefits that the chia, flax, or hemp seeds do, which are not as easy to eat in other ways. In fact, too many peanuts or peanut butter products can work against our health. For example, the seeds I mention are all high in omega-3 to lower inflammation, whereas peanuts are high in omega-6 and when the diet lacks enough omega-3 fatty acids, those fatty acids increase inflammation. So I would definitely not recommend putting peanut butter or peanuts into a green smoothie when there are better uses for it and more important ingredients to focus on for the green smoothie. 2, 3, and 4. You are listing various vegetables and I don't recommend these in the type of green smoothie that I am teaching for 3 reasons: 1) They will ruin the beautiful and delicious flavor of the green smoothie. 2) They are easy to eat in other ways, where they can be normally chewed and used in other meals. The point of the green smoothie is to maximize the amount of leafy greens in the diet. 3) Too many different ingredients cause more problematic digestion. We want to keep the mixing of any fruits and vegetables to a minimum, namely fruits and leafy greens. As I shared in the video, keep it simple. There are other meals in the day for such other foods. For more informaiton on what NOT to put in a green smoothie and why, including various vegetables, I address all this in the following video class: ruclips.net/video/aFnWc4A4WgM/видео.html
Thank you so much for your great feedback! With regard to the avocado pit or seed, no, not at all. If you are going to use the avocado in your smoothies, you would just use the soft fleshy part without the skin or pit. While there is lots of info out there and videos with people trying to tell people to eat the avocado seeds, it is not exactly the best thing for many reasons that range from palatability, safety, preparation, tool requirements, etc. If you choose to use it, just be sure to research it well to decide if it is the right thing for you.
Grapes and melons must consume on their own because they ferments in the gut and turn to alcohol. Try mixing them and eating them on an empty stomach especially if you are not a drinker of alcohol. My friend did and felt tipsy 😁😁.
How different foods digest predominantly depends on the person's usual diet AND intestinal health. I cover food combining guidelines in this video: ruclips.net/video/kugr_7xwKLE/видео.html
If you are referring to dairy milk (i.e. milk from a cow or goat), then definitely NOT, as it would defeat the whole point of drinking a green smoothie, which is to help, not hurt, your health. Dairy, especially modern dairy that is industrially-processed and which comes from some of the unhealthiest cows that are full of drugs and hormones and fed GMO foods, is well-known by now to be very problematic and disease-causing for human bodies. Such milk and other foods are amongst the top allergens, top mucus-producing substances, hormone disruptors, and have been proven to turn on cancer genes. So again, adding such a substance would go completely against the point of drinking a green smoothie. Plus, dairy and fruits make some of the worst food combinations for our digestive system. If this information is new for you, I provide more detailed info about this in the following resources: 1. Article: What is the problem with cow's milk and dairy: www.evolvingwellness.com/post/what-is-the-problem-with-cows-milk-and-dairy 2. Thank you so much, lots of important information.. Just 1 question, what do you recommend someone with diabetes? Same kind of smoothies or should cut back on the fruits.
You are most welcome Rita. In general, it all depends on how advanced the diabetes is, but fruits have been now proven to be part of healing diabetes and should not be feared. Please explore the following resources about reversing diabetes with diet. Diabetes type 2 can be reversed in many cases completely with the right dietary approach, this being whole-food, plant-based, and there are lots of resources with backing science out there to help you do that. Some of the best are as follows below: 1. Dr. Fuhrman's diabetes healing program: www.drfuhrman.com/library/eat-to-live-blog/109/reversing-type-2-diabetes 2. Forks Over Knives: www.forksoverknives.com/ (If you have Netflix, start by watching the film "Forks Over Knives", and "What the Health" 3. Thank you for the feedback Atia, and good to hear you enjoyed it. With regards to raw greens and IBS, that all depends on who you ask, as there are many theories about that out there. What I can tell you with working with people with all kinds of digestive issues is that there are many differences in what each person can best tolerate, BUT all IBS has a stress component that is reflected by our mental/emotional health and anxiety. This is why there is no, one, consistent diet that works for all IBS people, because different foods set them off, but the underlying issue is not the food, but the emotions and how we are coping in our lives. So see if raw greens work for you, pay attention to food combining too (ruclips.net/video/kugr_7xwKLE/видео.html), but most importantly work on the root issue: the stress and emotional trauma. Best wishes!
Great video! I normally do my green smoothies during Sunday night. Make a good amount, put them into five sealed jars and drink them every morning. I will put three into the freezer and two in the cooler. I will normally take the one from the freezer to cooler one night before. Is this a bad practice? Thanks :)
Thanks so much for the feedback LuLu. In general, your practice is fine if this is the best case scenario for a busy lifestyle. I always encourage people to do the best they can in a way that balances the most healthy and practical approaches for them. The main tweak I would recommend is to freeze 4 of the 5 smoothies, and only keep 1 for the next morning, not the first 2. The freezing process will delay more of the nutrition breakdown and oxidation, which begins to occur as soon as we peel, cut, or blend our food. Also, I assume when you say "cooler" you mean the fridge, and not a cooling lunch container of some kind. When you store your smoothie for long periods of time, like overnight, it should definitely be in the fridge or freezer. While fresh is best, all of these tips are to optimize the nutrient integrity, and can help you if this is what is required to make green smoothies work in your diet. Cheers!
No, it is not really a good idea. Please understand that green smoothies, as I show in this video, are amongst the top choices for healing inflammation and offering anti-inflammatory benefits. And while turmeric and black pepper have such benefits too, so do most other whole plant foods. This does not mean that we want to add them to everything or eat them all together. You have to consider the flavor and palatability of your final product. So for best results, save your turmeric and black pepper for savory or spicy meals, instead, and don't mix them with fruits or sweet flavored meals. You will get better tasting smoothies by keeping these ingredients out of them and better tasting other meals, which would actually benefit from turmeric, black pepper, AND any other spices or herbs, which are all beneficial. As a summary: all whole plant foods are naturally anti-inflammatory, and all processed plant foods and all animal foods are inflammatory. When we eat the right diet, we get the most benefits, whereas focusing on just one or a few of the right foods will always limit your health potential.
Zina, all fruits and leafy greens help to regulate bowel movements and treat and prevent constipation because all of them contain fiber, cleansing, and anti-inflammatory properties. The key is not to focus on any specific one, but to eat LOTS of fruits and vegetables that you have available in your area as part of your daily diet.
Wow, this is the best smoothie video I have ever seen. So well structured and packed with content. Eliminates a lot of confusion for me regarding the subject. And no waffling. Like a breath of fresh air. Am definitely subscribing. Very well and clearly articulated too. I can't wait to see the other videos on your channel.
Woman you are gifted!! Your presentation is spot on. I wish today’s generation would embrace leafy green smoothies than all the junk processed food/snacks sold in shops. At the end of the day we all need to stay healthy and happy. I’d try out your ideas. I dread the taste of kale uncooked but will brace up for the challenge. Shalom!
Thank you so much for your positive feedback and enthusiastic comment. This is so very appreciated! And yes, I do hope you try it as most people are pleasantly surprised by how enjoyable these green smoothie combinations are.
The best tutorial I’ve seen so far about smoothies. Clever woman sharing useful knowledge respecting her viewers. I watched it twice in a row.Thank you so much. Cheers from Poland
OMG, the 1st healthy video I have finally come across that actually makes everything not seem so complicated and very well prepared. Thank you so much!! I am a beginner and definitely excited to start this journey.
This has to be one of the BEST most informative video on RUclips. This is the most fluid well made video packed with everything need to know about smoothies and the pitfalls. Amazing!!!
This is exactly the kind of green smoothie template I was looking for -- whole foods and simple ingredients -- thank you! I've been having smoothies for breakfast almost every morning for a month since I got my Vitamix and how I've been doing them isn't that far from what you do, but it's been a lot of work calculating the nutritional values of different combinations and figuring out if I have enough greens or not in relation to the fruit. This is definitely going to simplify the morning routine. One little suggestion I have for folks is a replacement for the ice cubes if they want a chilled smoothie -- frozen celery. I wash and chop a huge bag of celery, freeze it, and then add a small handful to my smoothies. I can taste the celery, but not as "Ooh, there's celery," but more, "Ooh, there's a lovely and fresh and light flavour behind the rich banana." My Vitamix completely breaks down the celery, just like it does other fibrous produce. I've also used green beans in the same way, but the flavour is a bit more pronounced.
I have been looking for a video like this for quite some time. They are so many videos out there but this one is very clear, no nonsense and very informative. Thank you for taking the time to make sure a video 🙏🏽
I learned so much watching your video!! Thank you for the step by step reasons and performance of making the smoothie. I have been not making my smoothies simple, I just couldn't figure out why they were a hit and miss. Glad I found you, thank you! High five to you too!
Thankyou so much....what a fabulous informative video on going more green for a change. Im going to shop tonight for more greens as of tomorrow in my smoothie. I've just subscribed here too. Thankyou.
This was the best explanation of what to use in a green smoothie. Now I have a better understanding of which blender to use and how to layer the ingredients. Thank u
Thank you so much for this in-depth and brief explanation of green smoothies. I have been struggling with ingredient lists for years, thank you again for making it simple and doable for everyone! 😊👍
The Gold Standard for Green Smoothie / Nutrition information. Wow! I am new to learning about nutrition/healthy eating and I have spent too many hours on RUclips looking at folks make green smoothies. Look no further. Detailed information on both “how”, and more importantly, “why” of green smoothies and all the nutritional backup. Split screen with video and audio of the presenter on right half and clear, legible, text on the other half. I think this person knows a thing or two about teaching. Added bonus: Clear audio, perfect diction of presenter (you won’t miss a single word); doesn’t have distracting, loud music playing in the background competing for your attention. Well done - and Thanks so much for all the hard work you must have put into this.

Excellent, i have been looking everywhere to find a complete tutorial, about the ideal and not so ideal combinations, for both smoothies and juices. This video is a great help for beginners!!!
Hi Hakeem and thank you so much for your great feedback. Yes, I wish I had the time and ability to make more videos here too, but as it goes my work spans many areas, and I cannot usually dedicate much time to youtube. So a new video will come out every so often. Cheers :)
This is great!!! Thank you so very much for making and sharing this video. You truly explained everything I need to know in details. Much appreciated!!!

me too. your message is clear, detail and you try to make it simple, easy to follow. You got another subscriber. I had a problem before trying to come up with my own green smoothie. thank you for your excellent presentation!
Awesome video! Your're the first one I've heard address the issues of people who have a problems with chewing vegetables, and allow for that. I needed this video, to try and figure out how to make smoothies for my adult daughter with special needs and serious health issuses. Thank You. New Subscriber, here.
Wow! The most comprehensive explanation ever of doing a green smoothie; thank you though drinking them for years; first time getting clear instructions. God Bless
Thank you for sharing this. It’s very well explained and has simplified the green smoothly for me. I always felt I needed to stock up on Greek yoghurt, soy or other specific milk, plus fruit and veggies and it all became confusing and just too darned hard. I feel now that you have supplied a simplified type of index card for me to follow. I am so needing to improve my health amd have tried using green smoothies in the past, but failed feeling the whole process too difficult. I think daily of my need to step up and this is a very good way to start. Again you have my gratitude. ❤️
You are super welcome, Heidi. The key to best health is definitely simplicity. These green smoothies that I demonstrate only add the things that are most essential and proven for best health and weight, such as fresh fruits and vegetables. Our digestive system also does not want or function at its best when we put in too many different ingredients at once. The key to any optimally healthy eating is not about adding "more stuff" and complicating meals with too many ingredients, but about *"eating more of the right stuff".* Best wishes :)

Here are answers to your questions:
Thank you!
Fantastic! Thanks for the info 🤗😀
You are most welcome!
Evita, this was an excellent and very educational video. When using the Avocado, would we use the core/seed of the Avocado as well? Thanks.
This is so wonderful RECEPIE.. wow
Glad you like it, thanks !
I like your flow.
Thank you!
I just have my kale smoothie. It's so yummy 😁
Great to hear! Thanks for sharing!

Can I use a regular milk (not almond or coconut milk) for smoothies? This video is really helpful for a smoothie beginner like me :D
If this information is new for you, I provide more detailed info about this in the following resources:
1. Article: What is the problem with cow's milk and dairy: www.evolvingwellness.com/post/what-is-the-problem-with-cows-milk-and-dairy
2. Video: What to avoid to make healthy green smoothies: ruclips.net/video/aFnWc4A4WgM/видео.html
thank you for your videos. Love you
My sincere pleasure, and thank you for your kind comment.
Some of the best are as follows below:
1. Dr. Fuhrman's diabetes healing program: www.drfuhrman.com/library/eat-to-live-blog/109/reversing-type-2-diabetes
2. Forks Over Knives: www.forksoverknives.com/ (If you have Netflix, start by watching the film "Forks Over Knives", and "What the Health"
3. Nutrition Studies: nutritionstudies.org/how-i-lost-weight-and-reversed-diabetes-with-diet/
Thank u awsome video, highly educated .
It is really wonderful to receive your feedback. Thank you!
love it...specifically for detailed information. ....however, are raw green leaves good for ibs patients?
Your awesome. Thank you!
That is super kind of you to share, thank you, Trinity.
Cheers!
Thank you so much for your reply!! I will definitely try it! :) :)
Is it a good idea to add Turmeric and black pepper for anti-inflamation?
Please what fruit and green leaves is best for person with chronic constipation??
Thank you so much for your meaningful and heart-warming feedback M J.

Great video. It's like summarizing a whole green smoothie encyclopedia:) Thank you!
Glad you liked it! And thank you for your fantastic feedback :)
That is really great to hear, Rae. Thank you for taking the time to share your nice feedback and personal experience with tips for others. Cheers :)

The Gold Standard for Green Smoothie / Nutrition information. Wow! I am new to learning about nutrition/healthy eating and I have spent too many hours on RUclips looking at folks make green smoothies. Look no further. This is the top RUclips video you will find discussing healthy advantages of green smoothies and one of the top videos I have seen on RUclips, ever, on any topic. The presentation is perfect. My new vita-mix arrived yesterday and now I have my go-to resource for all my nutrition needs. I am now a new subscriber and look forward to seeing all of your other training videos. Well done - and Thanks so much for all the hard work you must have put into this.

Glad it was helpful, and thank you so much for your valuable feedback and nice comment :)
Thank you for explaining everything so in-depth I’m new to this and can’t really find many people who going into detail like you.
You are most welcome, and thank you for your comment.
The key to any optimally healthy eating is not about adding "more stuff" and complicating meals with too many ingredients, but about *"eating more of the right stuff".*
Best wishes :)
Just made a smoothie following your tips - best one I have ever made! Thanks so much!!
Mark, that is so wonderful to hear! Thanks so much for taking the time to share this feedback with me.
