Wow, you captured gold right here!! What a band, Daves's voice is killer, and Leonard Haze, kicking COPD, and those drums' asses sucking on oxygen no less, what a show!!
Such a humble band for the rock stars that they are. I met Dave here in Portland OR a couple years ago and he was super down to earth, they had a fan meet and greet after the show, for anyone that wanted to stay. I was blessed enough to meet Leonard back around 2012 or 13 in a little blues bar in San Leandro, CA. Needless to say, I was enamored and went up to say hi, tell him that I had grown up in the East bay and on his drumming. I then asked him if he would show me how to play Barroom Boogie, I thought it was a longshot and he would just laugh me off. Low and behold, he pulled me behind the kit and proceeded to give me a live lesson, right there in the bar, before his blues band went on to play. Wow, SO much cowbell, so much precision! Machine gun Haze we used to call him in the Black Tiger days when he was active in Y&T. What a great guy who loved his fans and performing, without a huge ego. I'll never forget you Leonard! RIP
I thought leonard was already dead by early 2000s? I was wrong, so many stories of Leonard hanging out at ‘the stone’ falling down. Not as bad as joe Biden. I fall down too if took me fifth of whisky just to crawl out bed just to go out cop enough dope, without sharing with anybody
RIP Leonaard Haze :( You were a KILLER, under-noticed drummer like Denny Carmassi and other excellent drummers out there in the Rock genre. Go jam with Randy Rhoads! ♥♫
Starry Night Club Portland Or. 1985?Front stage. So close to Dave I could strum his guitar. THE BEST LIVE SHOW IVE EVER ATTENDED! (Other than being on stage myself lol) THANK YOU GUYS! will never forget that night! One of if not my all time favorite band. Now the Roseland Theater!
I remember in 1983 when I was a sophomore in high school my mom let cut school to go to the California State fair up here in Sacramento the fair ticket included the concert which was the Sammy Hagar red rocker tour including Y&R and Stevie Ray Vaughn Y&T was awesome.
Was at that show as well. My first concert. I got to meet Dave a few years ago and asked if he remembered that show. He remembered it like it yesterday and even recalled that the crowd wasn't very nice to SRV. I also remember Sammy apologizing 'cause the ticket was $13 or thereabouts. But it did include entrance to the fair.😀
That was one of the best shows of my life, with Sammy being on the three-lock box tour, and to this day blows my mind that the crowd was booing Stevie Ray. When I tell folks that, they are in disbelief. I was there and still can’t believe it. Y&T Forever R.I.P Leonard Haze🙏🏼
One of the best bands from the metal era! I saw these guys here in Denver at a little club called M-80"s in 1980. This was just after they changed their name to Y&T. I had their first 2 albums, and I was shocked that they were playing in a little 3.2 beer club! One of the best shows I've ever seen! R.I.P. Joey, Leonard, and Phil. 🤘
I recommend to all aspiring hard rock drummers to give a good listen to Y&T's first album, titled Yesterday and Today. Leonard Haze puts on a masterclass on hard rock drumming.
Heard he asked Dave if he could play knowing it would be his last live show ever. Dave was concerned about Lenards health, but not his drumming abilities. Lenard reassured Dave. Dave being the great friend he is said if course. Lenard struggled a bit with his breathing, but his drumming was on point. What a great human being Dave Menikety is to take a chance on his friend Lenard, Knowing he's in failing health but would come through to receive one more chance of glory in front of a live audience. (True friend).
WHAT happened to mr HAZE ? He was 😎 cool to OUR band in 81 he hung out with us all NIGHT in Sacramento we be jammin it was SUCH a BLAST GREAT GUY killer drummer
I would love to see them in concert again they were so underrated as a rock band because they are so great I love their music it sucks getting old especially when you are not able to play or tour around the world doing something that you love
Doesn't play for how many years, then comes out and bangs it out like he wrote it this morning!! What a pro!!! All idiots + posers take heed and watch how it's done. 👍👍
Met Lenny way long time ago at Frenchy's when they were doing a gig there. Lenny and Phil burned the candle at both ends with the not unexpected results. But do you want to live a long boring life or a short fascinating one? Long live rock and roll.
I love Dave Meneketti / Y&T, but much like Pat Travers, and Peter Frampton they don't have a live band that is at their talent level. With the notable exception of this gig with Leonard Haze on drums :-)
What are you talking about? His tempo and fills are all on. Mr Haze will be remembered for a long time as rocking til his very end even while struggling with COPD. Who says shit like this? Let me guess....you get on Def Leppard vids and rag on Rick Allen because he can't play a tight snare drum roll??? WTF
R.I.P Leonard Haze!!! You were truly one of the greatest!!!
We WERE jammin rich derek lynyrd HAZE was in town we got him over to play he beat the living tar outta Ritchie s. Drums rip mr haze
Wow, you captured gold right here!! What a band, Daves's voice is killer, and Leonard Haze, kicking COPD, and those drums' asses sucking on oxygen no less, what a show!!
Leonard Haze. Heaviest right foot in the business. R.I.P.
This made me feel good. God bless Leonard. I'm sure he was having a blast behind that drum kit. He played great!
Way to go Leonard! You got to give the guy some credit for guest appearing in his old band. Simply amazing! Y & T Forever!!!!!!!
Thank you Leonard for the wonderful memories, and thank you Y&T!
leonard haze is one of a kind. those 1st 2 albums; nothing else like that drumming.

I bought my first car from Haze's uncle. I found this out because I wore a "In Rock We Trust" concert T when I picked it up.
Holy shit, it,s Leonard Haze - on oxygen, no less. These guys tore it up back in the 80's. Glad they're still doin' it !
And in the '70's.

Terrible de revoir Léonard dans cet etat...merci Maestro pour tout...RiP..
RIP Leonard Haze
This recording is live magic.
We will always love Y&T and god bless Leonard.
Barely able to move, sucking oxygen, probably hasn't played in months or years... and he's still better than 99% of the drummers out there.
SpikeFlea exactly
Great talent

I love Dave Meneketti / Y&T, but much like Pat Travers, and Peter Frampton they don't have a live band that is at their talent level. With the notable exception of this gig with Leonard Haze on drums :-)
You're crazy, Phil Kennemore on bass, Joey Alves was one of the best rhythm guitarists in the business. Plus, Joey and Phil's harmony vocals
He's doing ok - just getting a little older. The oxygen helps when he plays.
0:08 Cat?
Who's on rhythm and bass here?
seamus2112ophelan That’s John Nyman on rhythm, and Brad Lang on bass 🤘
@@jesseriah Thanks man!
@@seamus2112ophelan brad was replaced by aaron leigh in 2016...Aarons a monster bass player...
They kind of look alike which is crazy
Is Leonard sick?

Cocaine - it's a fucken shame. And the people around him used him and spit him out when they were done. RIP Lenny.
Y&T Has NOT been the same since they let Leonard go....
Im Sorry to say it but Leonards days as a drummer are over. he can't even play with a click track and he's on oxygen, terrible.

What are you talking about? His tempo and fills are all on.
Mr Haze will be remembered for a long time as rocking til his very end even while struggling with COPD.
