I have unforgettable memories going way back to 1982. Me at just 15yrs old, with our band being the support/openings act for Y&T's 1st European Tour :)
At Minute 4:00, Dave mentions the band was touring the previous year on the "Black Tiger Record"(1982), so this must be from 1983. Back in the Day, I was playing poker with friends from work and one(T.M.) said he was going to hire them to play, We dared him to and he did - at a skating ring in South San Francisco in 81. He was working a beer keg at the show and was handing out free beers to friends :) Y&T definitely one of the great unsung bands of the 80's. Radio pretty much ignored them despite having great songs and top notch Live shows.
Grew up in San Mateo. If they had better marketing they would be top 10! Dave is top 3 all time in my eyes. My friends and I lived our lives through Y&T. Shout out Fremont and Hayward them playing in a garage 1980!
Grew up in the Bay Area & can't remember how many times I saw this band, from Yesterday & Today to Y&T they always delivered! They had so much experience that by the time they changed the name & put out the LP's on A&M they were a pure powerhouse live. I do recall a series of shows at The Stone prior to the release of "Earthshaker" that were brilliant. They had an annual Halloween show & bands from LA would come up with all the flash, etc. & get their clocks cleaned by the boys from the East Bay. As for Dave I'd say he's not underrated by guitar players tho' he certainly is underappreciated & ignored by much of the general public
I was 13 when I saw them on this tour when they played Hammersmith Odeon and they were f**king brilliant - one of the top five gigs I've EVER been to and I'm an old f**ker now 🙂
Im older brother purchaesd his first 4 Albums... Yesterday And Today Live and Dangerous Strangers in the Night Powerage Hook every since i was 12 yrs old Saw them live at Lamours..in Brooklyn off of Mean Streak Right in front of Dave for 2 hours.. One of the best concerts ever !!

Probably the most underrated band/singer/guitarist of all time. Love Dave Meniketti.

Agreed their still great live today!
People overlook Leonard Haze's drumming in this band - an incredible powerhouse with an amazingly steady meter and feel
RIP LEONARD...you definitely were smoking on matters...and you're missed .😢
