Yesterday & Today! They played everywhere around the Bay Area back in the 70's early 80s. Those guys worked their asses off. Great band. RIP Leonard, Phil and Joey!
Women walking around with their heads up looking around at guys checking them out. I would be happy with just that today. We didn't have much when we were young in the 80s, but we had everything!.
My brother and I spent a lot of time out at the lake during the summer in Vegas. We grew up and lived there for 36 years, and every summer he would bust out Summertime Girls!! 80's for life😎✌️
Saw them in 2014 at the cannery in Nashville. They were great! My ears rang for days. Dave kind of apologized for Summertime Girls admitting it was pop. But also underscoring how big it had been for them. For me Mean Streak was their peak record. 🤘😎
Why would an artist feel the need to apologize for their biggest hit? Yeah, I get it that it was a bit outside their regular genre, but I don't ever recall Eric Clapton apologizing for I Shot The Sherrif, or Tesla apologizing for Signs
@@jim2lane well, he gave a little background to every song before they played it which was a treat! But he said something like that he knew that some die hard fans didn't like it. Its like the Firm doing Youve Lost That Lovin Feelin. Y&T going a tad commerical for MTV isnt the same thing to me as your examples of bands or perofrmers doing covers. Clapton did a variety of styles and cover songs. Summertime Gilrs wasnt a cover.
@@FredPena-rd5cf In regards to Clapton, a rock artist having a huge hit with a Reggae song is a pretty similar analogy. Many of his die- hard fans could have been offended. And yeah, for Y&T, the video was a bit campy/cheesy. But the end result was a hit that brought in a huge number of fans that probably would never heard of them otherwise
@@jim2lane i disagree on Clapton. In that era even your concerts could be Bob Marley and Cream with Joan Baez opening. Covers were very in fashion back then. Hence Santanta making Black Magic his own. Y&T wasnt doing a cover. And it wasnt such a variance as going reggae. It was just a campy sellout for a hit to appease the record company. Clapton quit the Yardbirds over such a scenario. And perhaps short term fans did pick up on Summertime Girls and the band. But their record sales dwindeled after that.
Peacemaker had such an amazing soundtrack!! James Gunn has impeccable taste in music. The Michael Starr cover of Pumped up kicks is one of the best covers I have ever heard.

Wow it looks crystal clear and audio is amazing also Thank you so much. I can watch this one three times in a row. Same for Huey Lewis and the News. Great songs and the video is amazing. Thanks again. Love the channel.
Song reminds me of “Power Hour”. Much Music TV show. Great song. Also, brings back memories of an old HS friend. We picked up a lot of women together. Cheers y’all. 🍻
You really do see how Def Leppards song "Photograph" changed the hard rock scene....suddenly so many hard rock bands started doing songs such as this where it has heavy verse parts and then when it gets to the chorus, the music lightens and gets pretty and then the beach boys harmony's come in.
Lost count of how many cassette tapes of this album either got melted or eaten way back when in Phoenix AZ. My best friend Barney and I declared this to be our summer theme song. Lost Barney in 96. What I wouldn't give to go back to the 80's
Nice trunks, Dave. I guess you didn’t have anything smaller. Did you know back then, Dave, how iconic and big this song would come to be? (I don’t think so, judging by the shorts.) 😂 Give Jill my best.❤

Saw them in '84. One helluva live show. Great time for music.
I had the honor of partying with them in Milpitas. Great time back in 84’
Great song, Great band, Great upgrade! They should have been bigger in rock music.
They’re one of the few bands out there that still sound kickass live! And it’s really only Dave
Time to get drunk and eye girls with horny intent!
They were good live too!
This music is incredible, the production is fricken unreal!
I want to relive the 80s over again!!! Good Times!
