One of the most underrated bands on the planet. Every line up has been brilliant. Dave I's a god as are all the band and past and present members. You go to a Y&T gig ,you get two and a quarter hours of classic classic rock. Long live Y&T. Sad day today ,just heard of LEONARD HAZE passing away. Rest in peace rock legend reunited with phil. Rock on boys
PUHHHLEASE! That's why OZZY, Coverdale & Peter Frampton wanted Big Man Dave to join their bands and/or collaborate. One of the most respected bands by their music industry peers, PERIOD!
I loved Y&T I first heard of them in 1984 and my first album debut was the Black Tiger album and I was hooked and I’ve seen them live 8 times and they have never let me down on a live show,Dave gives his all in every performance.😎
Yep!! I can confirm this is true. Phil Kennemore is actually my great uncle. His sister was Gail which was my grandma! So Sick of a band!! They are both now in heaven rockin on!!! yesterday and tommorow!
From when I first heard them (as Yesterday & Today, at the time) play high school and college shows in Fremont, CA (once w/ the sensational first all-female rock band The Runaways as an opening act ) until today--Y&T is one of the greatest and most underrated rock bands of all time. And Dave's melodic voice rates up there with the best of the best in Rock ‘N Roll. Thank you, Dave for your awesomeness and keep on Rock’n’’ forevermore! I can’t wait to see you guys again!
GOD BLESS THE HAIR BANDS!!! I am 47 and some of the best times I ever had in my life was bands like this I look around me now and all I see is that this world is becoming one big shit hole!!
Because Y & T’s territory was mostly Europe and Japan, as well as being monsters on the West Coast. The rest of the USA had no clue unless you were really in the know !!!!!!
@@williambain2646 When I was 12 in Kansas we loved Lipstick and Leather and Keep on Running. This song never came up. If it would have, it would have been huge, imho.
@@Ardge26 Jimmy lived next door to my grandmother when I was growing up. I used to sit outside his basement window and listen to him practice. We used to swim in his pool in the summer too!
This song makes me conflicted. I love it so much - as DLR said about 80s rock : "the music smiled, the clothes smiled, good times".However as much as I love it it makes me bittersweet because it slams you in the gut that you can never experience it again. Not only have times have changed and rock isn't mainstream anymore (and what rock there is has turned it's back on 'good time' music so the chances of you hearing new music like this are zero) but the song represents your youth. When you were carefree, no ties, your whole life ahead of you and the summer was an event and one that seemed to lat forever. Maybe you never married and are 40+ and single, maybe you're hapily married, either way - this was from a time before all that, when you were young, vibrant, good music wasn't 30 years old (like this is), good music like this was mainstream, and you didn't have the worries of 'real life' let alone today's shitfest of ISIS, Syria etc.
@CAMARO30082 It doesn't seem that way....these teenagers have become soulless and devoid of passion...and the modern high-tech world and business mentality has caused this horrific plague!! I'd love to find a way to go back to the Fabulously Wild '80s!!!!!!!
I was born/raised in the bay area. Dave lived about 2 miles from my house. Watched them at a lot of local shows (bars, theaters, county fair, Monsters of Rock, etc...) and they rocked it every time. One time at the fair back in the 80s. the power went out in the middle of a song and they paused for a few minutes then said "fuck it" and then started singing acapella until they got the power back. Great improvisation and sounded awesome.
I love you My bro, Derick I Will always love you and Curt cuz blood is thicker than water Y&T need to stay together but also go home after tours sacurally , God loves ,Tyree, and you to Matt Dobbs ,you stay out of trouble thanks for the memories of Y&T and My bakini figure My sister got bathing suits for me and her by My brother.sweet again words sweety cant express my thanks to My childrens dad for his friends and the ones I met in eleverta God loves 😎❤️
I'd put this up against anything VH ever wrote. But if you watch the 2013 live version of the song, you'll see the band really come of age. Sounds so much better. I guess if you survive you younger years and don't OD you come out with you shit in one sock. Too bad nobody likes this kind of music anymore. Except me and a dozen other old metallers. Absolutely THEE most underrated band of the 80's.
I could never get behind this lineup or this god awful song that, IMO, was never a true representation of what Y&T was all about, but it's still pure gold compared to where we are musically in 2019.
@CAMARO30082 since international companies and people rulling this world, want vegetables instead of nations and people, they don't want them reacting at all! they want them being paraplegic so they bombart them with crap music and fake idols (bieber for crying out loud) in these critical momments when kids need idols they find thisCRAP, brother, I feel the SAME!
im a MAJOR Yesterday and Today fan... i can over look the crappy aduio.....but those harmonies are terrible... mostly the ooohs and ahhhhs before the choruses... i do this for a living...so i have a unique perspective other than just loving the band. sorry to be such a downer...just my opinion on this specific performance.
Yes for a very long time. I love this song. Just saying that background vocals sounded terrible. No more no less. Kinda flat in some spots. Vocals were good though, so we can even it out. Peace

Robert Short i couldn't agree more very underrated band. Just came back from one of there shows, 2 and a half hours of great music.
Sounds like shit here..i liked it cleaned up tho.

To know y&t is to love y&t... Anyone who says something negative about y&t is CLEARLY crying out for help
I loved Y&T I first heard of them in 1984 and my first album debut was the Black Tiger album and I was hooked and I’ve seen them live 8 times and they have never let me down on a live show,Dave gives his all in every performance.😎
The vocals are spot on! Incredible. All the singers voices mesh well and everyone is on pitch. Crazy!
I met the guys backstage in Oakland. My buddy Paul was Phil's brother. they were and still are great.
Yep!! I can confirm this is true. Phil Kennemore is actually my great uncle. His sister was Gail which was my grandma! So Sick of a band!! They are both now in heaven rockin on!!! yesterday and tommorow!
Obviously 9 people don't know what great music is!!!!
lol
Great. RIP, Joey, Phil and Leonard.
Talented guy, Dave's vocals kick ass and his guitar playing does too..!!

Happy 60th birthday...
I'm 60 and totally agree with you
2024 here and Im thinkin this band is pretty damn good. Its really weird though i grew up in the 70s and 80s but never heard of Y and T.
Because Y & T’s territory was mostly Europe and Japan, as well as being monsters on the West Coast. The rest of the USA had no clue unless you were really in the know !!!!!!

one of the most underrated bands/singers/guitarists/song writers.. in metal history..imho... you rock dave!!
I agree!! They have talent in spades and deserved more respect than they received and they put on one hulluva good concert!
I liked this lineup the best. The drummer was awesome.
flashy5150 That's Jimmy DeGrasso. He is awesome.

Long live to rock metal.Muito bom.😎😎😎
I like how he goes back into the verse after the solo. Classic!
Rest in peace Phil Kennemore and Leonard Haze.

unbelievable how good these guys were (ARE) live!!!!!!!!!!!!!
cool, that must be a great feeling. this is the perfect summer song, and a good time song.

Great post Kathryn !
Rattmaster86 Y&T ARE ON TOUR
When I think back to my high school years this is one of the songs that come to mind.
Yes , class of 1984 😎🎸
Totally cool 😎

Fantastic voice and guitar chops
Still listening in 2020. Memories........ahhhhh

Sounds like a classic DLR Van Halen tune. No bigger compliment to VH.
Who's listening in 2021???
@Brianndlo4 I agree. Ability and talent went out the window when the 80s became the 90s.
Dave is awesome 😎 Great band
What a band!
I know Dave personally good friend he still rocks must be rough Dave
these guys were great; I saw this show at the old Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City. Nothing like Kansas City concerts
I have seen this band in 84', and 87'. They are so good live and so underrated as a part of the sound of the 19080's!
Great memories for sure!!
Ha! Love this! Like the way Dave starts to shake his ass at about 4:28. I also like Joeys Oakland tee. These were the good ole 80's!
Unique voice rules!
That guitar rocks
I was at this show. Great time!
Best 80s rockers hands down!!
Who's playing drums
Jimmy degrasso plays in this video, leanord haze was the original drummer on the studio version
I remember the y and t open up for motley what a awesome show
Yeah I saw them with Motley Crue and Accept at the Revere Bowl in Massachusetts, great great show 🤘
He still had his voice back then....
The hair bands...these guys were coming up the same time as GnR on Sunset....but didn't make the big jump....still great song though...
I'm pretty sure I was at this show. They played with Ace Freley and Faster Pussycat.
Brilliant stuff.
Cant wait...theyre coming to tailgaters in bolingbrook in march....great band live...gonna miss seeing phil with em though
Great harmonies - awesome!
@CAMARO30082 A million thumbs up brother, they were magical times and we had it made, we still do having these wonderful memories... : )
you cant be a huge rocker and not know y&t.
Still listening 2017? Still 2020!
You might as well not even attempt backing vocals if they are going to sound like this.
@CAMARO30082 Wow, well put. Thanks for bringin it up....it is very true. You certainly make a great point. I am a musician that is 45 years old.
Amo !!!💙🎶
Pretty awesome, I love this band!
cool pop metal, perfect summer song
this is great
Great tune!
Good time rock n roll!!
Did they open for the Crue in 87. I saw them but can’t remember who with
Crue was 85
@@MetalMaster101 oh yea. I remember now. Theater of Pain. Thanks
Yeah I saw them with Motley Crue in 87 Accept played with them too, Revere Bowl, Revere Massachusetts 🤘
Dave's the man
Dave is so young here. You can hear the youth in his voice.
Magic
@Johnnyrod19666 I have a 22 y/o son who uses his computer to make "music", piecing together samples to create "techno-songs". Bleah!
dave Meniketti rocks
2021 5 april
Daves the last surviving member of the original line up.
Only Meniketti can play better live than studio.
Thats for fuckin sure!!!
2020
Yesterday and Today
0:07 that kick!
2:12 greatness!!!! Ya gotta love a bra flyin onstage
To the people putting down the quality of the sound. Are you sure that it was recorded by the band and not someone in the audience?
I heard this Song On 103.1 JACK FM.....
I could never get behind this lineup or this god awful song that, IMO, was never a true representation of what Y&T was all about, but it's still pure gold compared to where we are musically in 2019.

great band!!!Pure live, backing vocals are not the best I ve heard:)
yea...they suck like most bands when they play live. But Dave is great!
NOw 14 people who don't know S%&% about music.
im a MAJOR Yesterday and Today fan...
i can over look the crappy aduio.....but those harmonies are terrible...
mostly the ooohs and ahhhhs before the choruses...
i do this for a living...so i have a unique perspective other than just loving the band. sorry to be such a downer...just my opinion on this specific performance.
Dave shoulda hired some musicians that could sing the harmonies
At this moment,a little irrelevant band calling themselves “pen cap chew” or “ted ed fred” or “Nirvana “ is being formed in Aberdeen Washington..
Yes for a very long time. I love this song. Just saying that background vocals sounded terrible. No more no less. Kinda flat in some spots. Vocals were good though, so we can even it out. Peace
Absolute pop cheese. LOL
Those backing vocals are terrible
Wow they r really bad backing vocals..........
Capper. Van Halen isn't a pimple on the ass of Y n T! Y nT forever!!!
I love Y&T but this song just sucks.
No pocket. No groove. Dave fired the foundation of Y and T. Leonard Haze, Drums, Percussion and smoking on matters.
