  • The gardening season is in full swing. We have so many planters and flowerpots everywhere, we're running out of space 😀 We keep planting more things and the garden is slowly filling up. But it's also time to start harvesting our produce! Come check out what our garden looked like in May.

    I love how excited Peter gets for thunderstorms. You are positively incandescent. Do you get tornadoes? Tommy, ever so practical, always finds solutions to the challenges of nature. You guys work so hard. I’m happy when you have wonderful results ❤❤

      Thunderstorms are so fun 😁 Of course when they don't cause any damage!
      Tornadoes are rare, but they can occur. You might remember this video from 2021, when a strong tornado hit parts of the Czech Republic. We explained here: ruclips.net/video/EyMLvzk3-hI/видео.html
      Tommy can handle anything in the garden 😁

    Tommy, what a good idea with the netting to keep the birds out of you seedlings. Everything is looking so lush, to me. I hope it stays that way all the way to harvest time.

    Wow, spring taken possession of every corner of your beautiful farm. An a lot of work, always, but it's worth it, right?
    Talking about petunias, the Mayans and the Incas believed that the scent of them had the power to ward off underworld monsters and spirits. And with those flowers they prepared magical drinks. So... you are more protected now.
    How nice to give a new chance to those old objects that you have found in your barn and fill them with flowers or veggies.
    Always a pleasure guys. See you soon.

    Hi guys! I love seeing your country home coming to life again with all the flowering plants, trees, wildflowers and vegetables! Your little forest will be amazing someday when all the trees mature. We too call the one flowers you have Petunias. They come in a nice variety of colors and I love them! Another beautiful, fun video! Thanks for sharing! Take care!

    Thanks for the update guys. You've been incredibly busy by the looks of your garden and the hard work is paying off.
    We have Darren's dad visiting for 3 weeks at the end of the month and then his best friend and his family visiting a couple of months later...all of course from the USA. I am frantically trying to get the house and garden ready before we leave for Sorrento next week as his dad arrives just 3 days after we get back. There's never enough time for everything 🫤
    By the way I loved the pathways through the 'meadows'. I thought that was deliberate...but of course your broken tractor-mower was the reason.

    • @tommyandpeter
      @tommyandpeter  2 месяца назад

      Thank you 😉 Yes, we know such situations very well. When someone is supposed to visit, we want everything to look better than usual, and it's a lot of work and pressure, haha 😀 We are sure, you will manage in the end somehow. Good luck 😁

    I do not like rude birds digging up seedlings, but I used to love playing Angry Birds video game😊 I think those Guinea fowl look like a free dinner😂 I think I would gather all that tall grass, once cut down, and use around those bushes that you are mowing around to keep the weeds down? Thanks for sharing❤

    • @tommyandpeter
      @tommyandpeter  2 месяца назад

      Haha, you would eat all the birds or play games with them, Michael 😀 We use all the grass clippings for mulching, as could be seen for example around the planted conifer trees, but it's not enough for everything 😉

    I enjoyed you garden tour. You do a lot of work but with some lovely rewards. On the middle flower box in the post, you called the jump ups I think. In Australia we call them violas I believe. Most of all I enjoy seeing you both as a couple. You are a wonderful example of a same sex marriage which so special.

    • @tommyandpeter
      @tommyandpeter  2 месяца назад

      Yes, luckily having a garden can be quite rewarding, so it's been fun 😊 The 'Johnny jump ups' are a funny English (American?) name. They are from the viola family; we call them similar in Czech. Thank you 😉😊

    You are fortunate not to have deer invade your garden! It is a problem for us at our place in Northern California. Also glad do see you are using electric mower and weed wacker!

    • @tommyandpeter
      @tommyandpeter  2 месяца назад

      Yes, luckily no deer here coming from the fields. The electric mowers are quite practical, but alone they are not enough for our big garden, so we also need a bigger riding lawnmower.

    Thank you for sharing your garden and all the work you two are doing. It’s a beautiful environment. Yo are growing a lot of vegetables for just two people. Do you sale at farmers market, share with neighbors, or consume it all the two of you?

    • @tommyandpeter
      @tommyandpeter  2 месяца назад

      Thank you, Jerry! It might look like a lot but we don't grow that many vegetables. You need a lot if you want to eat them throughout the year. It disappears quickly. For example, we had a lot of potatoes stored from last year but now they are coming to an end, and the new ones are definitely not ready yet 🙃

    We are getting similar weather in England and Ireland,
    I am visiting my Irish farm and tending the gardens nine month after my last stay , if there was a prize for well grown weeds my garden would win , I would love to send pictures of my efforts, but I'm only on What's app,
    Can't see how to send photos to other U tube members ,

      No need to send pictures, we can imagine well grown weeds in the garden since it happens quite often in our garden too. It's a constant battle 😁
