"I have absolutely zero scientific evidence to back this up" I'll take all those years of practical experience as evidence enough. Such great down to earth advice, sorely missed.
me presenting in class 💯👌

Man what an awesome coach John was . RIP John and I hope his beloved family is well.
I’ve been applying his teachings for 7 months and been seeing great results. Thank you to whoever continues to throw these videos up!
John's heavy partials are what completely transformed my delts 100%
me too
Partials were a major game changer! 💪🏼 Long live Mountain Dog!🙌🏼
Who cares
Yeah, built my way up to sets of 25 and u can definitely feel the pump in your side delts for sure!
Every other youtuber is now posting science based evidence on lengthen partials for muscle growth, but John knew this just from experience!
Anything this guys says, I do it!
Experience is the best teacher!
My physique has changed drastically in the 3 years I have been watching these videos. Thank you for keeping this channel alive. John is so so missed.
Who cares
John was the best teacher on RUclips….Rih John!!!!!
Been implementing John's side and rear delt techniques for years, great stuff
Everything piece of information John give is 100% accurate GOAT 👑
I wish John was still around. What a great man.
Dude is uploading videos from heaven
Thank you for the re/continued uploads, I watch everyday!
I’ve had good success doing bent over laterals w head resting lightly on a 45 degree bench, and also circles while holding 25 lb plates making 12-18” circles. 15-25 reps for 3 sets each. I’m a 63 year old bodybuilder- been training since ‘79
He had a mountain of quality videos. ❤
I love this channel. I'm training better than ever, hitting some PB's and the extra little bits like the over and back movement between sets means I can train more comfortably for longer.
Thanks John!! I did the heavy partial sides today and they work awesome. You will be missed!!❤
Glad to see the channel is growing, I really enjoy watching and learning from John , Really love this channel.
love learning from this man. thank you so much
Damn I miss that "Alright everybody"... Thank you for keeping this channel going! 🙏🏽
John Meadows is a legend
Thank you for continuing to post these amazing videos. You always seem to post the perfect video for when my muscles are plateauing. 💪
John’s training is better than any stab-attempt at a “scientific-backed” “research”, all because his training advice works!! You are very missed, John Meadows. Rest in Peace!!! ❤️👍💪🙏
With new leghnted partials studies coming up, johns work like the lateral partials and other stuff its getting back up with data
he was ahead of his time
tat disclaimer was so wholesome . miss you Mountain Dog ❤ ❤
Heavy partial laterals have been the only way I could get my shoulders to get sore & make progress in weight with my strict form. I stopped doing them because I listened to someone else's "expertise"! I'm about to start doing them again. Thanks 💪
What did the other guy say that made you stop using partials? Just curious since i want to try it myself
@@100Predator "Injury is in your near future" I think was his exact words.
@@ddayfitness Maybe its a case of "listen to your body" If it feels okey do them or if you do them while your arm is in serious pain maybe stop. I dunno, i started doing them, and man my shoulder is sore but not like pain-pain
12 reps of how many?
@@matthewellis7284 I warm up with 12, 8, 4 reps then do 2 working sets- 1 set 20-25 reps, 1 drop set 15-20 reps each drop
One of the nicest people with some of the best advice period. RIP sir 🫡
The great John Meadows: missed first as an example of a decent human being, and next as source of lifting/bodybuilding advice.
his advice has done wonders for my shoulder development mainly rear and side dealt… R.I.P John you truly were a great person ...
Who cares
RIP Brother…..Always great advice.
This let me train as never before with results and no pain, ❤
Awesome info! R.I.P Big John! You’re still the Best man!
Partial is one he show couple years ago. And it has put some size on my shoulders. Always the best teacher !!!
Great video with excellent info. RIP John
Hi thank you for the education it's really kind and so important.
My go to guy for honest info.
Such a damn shame he's gone. Im so happy these videos are still being uploaded.
thankful for the frequency tip because I'd been wondering how often to hit side delts, 2 days for 3 sets of 30 sounds like a good standard for side and rear delt work. also definitely going to start doing those over and backs with the band, shoulder flexibility has always been an issue for me, even on dips i get a lot of front delt pain unless i warm them up pretty good. coach John still a huge blessing in Heaven
Fantastic tips I am incorporating all 3 into my shoulder workout
The Best ! he had a lot to offer more ! Love from Greece
high rep sets 0:35
heavy partial laterals 1:44
mobility 4:03
One of the Best!
Gone waaay too soon! 😔
Will try this next workout, thanks Mark Hamill
I could watch his lessons all day
Don’t think i’ve ever done a shoulder day without heavy partials and over and backs cause of you! Miss you man!
We're all gonna make it brahs
💪
Making insane progress in size and strength with the heavy side partials
Partial rep flies are fricken absolutely insane
So much knowledge RIP 🐐
I've been kind of lost in my training the past 3 months. Getting it in, but no real plan or progression. Started Johns Warlock program, and it's definitely the kick in the ass I needed! Love you and miss you big guy.
I was literally watching this video when another popped up by an 'exercise scientist' which was funny to me because of the first line in this video but the best chest presses I've ever did was after watching John's videos. I was listening to him for a long time before I found out he's no longer with us. He's the only lifting youtuber I listen to. RIP champ.
Miss this man
I did those partial lateral raises and that was the first time my lateral delts got sore.
I'll definately start doing them again.
The band exercise in between sets sounds really good. Gonna try it next time. Rest in peace John
John was the new iron guru
My husband loves and follows John for years. Please watch his videos in their entirety and DO NOT skip the adds to support his wife and children.
Miss you John.
ChatGPT generated routine based on this video:
*Exercise 1: Rear Delt High Reps*
Dumbbell Rear Delt Flyes or Reverse Pec Deck
Perform 3 sets of 30 reps or 3 sets of 25 reps (twice a week)
*Exercise 2: Heavy Partial Lateral Raises*
Dumbbell Lateral Raises with heavy weight (significantly heavier than your normal lateral raise weight)
Keep a slight bend in your elbows and raise the weights about 6 inches up
Perform 3 sets of 25 reps or 3 sets of 30 reps (twice a week)
*Exercise 3: Shoulder Flexibility and Joint Health*
Over and Backs with a resistance band
Grab a resistance band and perform over and back movements
Aim for 10 reps (over and back counts as one rep)
Incorporate this exercise in between sets of the previous two exercises
*Additional Tips:*
Warm-up properly before starting your shoulder workout to prevent injuries.
Use proper form and technique for all exercises to avoid strain or injury.
Adjust the weight for the heavy partial lateral raises as needed, ensuring it's challenging but manageable.
Stay consistent with this routine, performing it twice a week, and gradually increase the weight as you progress.
Listen to your body; if you experience pain or discomfort beyond normal muscle burn, adjust the weight or stop the exercise.
One of the the best ever bodybuilding coaches, sorely missed.
Yeah. Real healthy dude 😂
Good video guy! Thxs
We miss you !!!❤
Ive been doing these for about a year and can confirm, they work very well. As John said, slightly bent arm, go heavy, full control (no swinging)... once I get real tired I use a little "cheat" to get the weight up and do more... then once my technique gets TOO sloppy I'm done, but if you aren't struggling it's not hard enough
started training rear delts real heavy and the did grow, but not like they did in the beginning when I did like John was saying in this video.
I‘ll start doing them with high reps again!
I've been doing the band thing for over a year and have noticed a lot of improvement event though i have one bad rotator cuff. For some time, I couldn't barbell back squat because of my shoulder pain but now I can.😊
These vids are great
You are amazing much obliged 🙏
100% accurate.
My goal with rear delts was face pull or rear cable crossover for 100 reps in as little sets as possible. Maybe 40-50 first set, rest 30 second, another 20, and so on. That intensity twice a week made them grow like crazy.
Another option is banded pull aparts 100 reps a day. Morning, before bed, doesn’t matter just do them and your shoulders will be so much healthier and rounder.
We miss you John ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I do partial side debts, 3 to 4 sets, and I do all drop sets...20, 15, 10 lbs, about 8 - 12 reps each and it explodes my shoulders. Best thing I ever got from John.
Best sir ji all band exrsie shoulders safety with out ingery s
Man I miss this guys content. Rip thank you
Great tips John. R.I.P. Wider shoulders can change a physique tremendously.
I do a partial John did with Jeff Nippard one video. Took super heavy weight like he states and I’ll do as many as I can and then run the rack. So, I’ll start super heavy and work my way down the dumbbells and by the time I get to the end I’m doing full ROM but those 5lbs feels like 100 when your shoulders are spent haha
Scaption half way between front raise and side raises. Works medial delt more that straight out to side !!!
Im rethinking mt route now i been on mikes plan for about 6 weeks ish give or take and im shown great results on a few lifts tho this one in particular i lack and tend to skil because i have a bad right shoulder kinda. I tried this its actually very comfortable for me 😃
Love John 😢
I so miss John I still can’t believe it😢
I do high reps 20-30 reps on rears and sides works wonders also use drop sets👌🏾
Goat
Missing you Coach
Were John's videos shot in Columbus?
"zero scientific evidence to back this up" and now we have the evidence on long-length partials. John really was ahead of his time. RIP
Mountaindog! Looking good! I hope you are doing well, your looking healthy!
You dont know henpassed away ?
@@redstang70 yoooo wtf I didnt. I haven’t visited this side of youtube in a while! 😔
What about heavy partial side laterals using cables?
agree
I miss this guy
interestingly enough the scientific evidence is here now, with recent studies on lengthened partials. John was ahead of his time!
I came for the hi everybody but rest in peace miss you John never will you be forgotten
Ahead of his time. The lengthened partial has recently been shown to be the most hypertrophic part of the lift. So by eliminating the shortened portion, you save energy to do those higher reps getting closer to true failure of the muscle. Because of the force vector due to gravity making the lift easier as the arm (lever) becomes parallel to gravity, using a higher load makes up for that loss of tension in the muscle.
Long-length partials are now backed by studies as sometimes superior to FROM for hypertrophy. Taking Nippard's word.
Por favor traducelos a español. Un saludo desde VIGO (España) 💪💪🎧👍
So 25 with a lower weight and then go to heavy partials straight after ?
Lots of gear is the key.
rip mountaindog
I never do above 15 unless it is a warm up. One of my goal is to have the biggest should that I have ever had. Thanks, will incorporate this.
With rear delts try a 20-30 rep range. 3 exercises 3 sets each...
This is very true, i’m a living testicle💀of this ideology
My go to guy now, been watching videos on each muscle group from all kinds of channels and this gentleman was recommended to me and I am glad. Covers everything I question before I can question. Simple down to earth guy. Great advice and I am doing this now in the gym for a month and noticed big gains just by changing form and reps.
