About a year ago I've started with doubling the reps and halving the weight for all my shoulder movements and slowly increased the load. The burn is insane but my joints feel OK, so this was a golden tip from John. R.I.P. brother.

Aww, this came up in my feed. RIP John, gone too soon. I would have liked to have known you as you seemed like a genuinely nice person. Not too many people on these channels respond to people personally but you did. Thank you, that was awesome.
Really love this vid and miss John, love the knowledge he had and nobody can replace him in my eyes! Still hard to watch and know he’s gone, but I will putting all of this to good use!
Jay Cutler did a MuscleTech dvd with most of this info. Jay loved the cables for delts. I’m not a big guy. Never have been. Never will be. But since mid 2000’s when I saw Cutler talking all about the rear delt… made me focus hard on them. Before it begin to be “the thing” to preach.
John's advice here, is absolutely priceless. It's easy for lifters and fitness folks to identify exercises for each body part and just crack on. But John's tips on technique can be a 'life saver' in terms of reducing the risk of shoulder injury. Shoulder injuries are notoriously difficult to get over. Also, equally valuable is John's observation about not overdoing press work for shoulders, due to the hammering those joints take through chest work. I only discovered John's work a couple of months ago, and I quickly became a big fan. It's very sad that he had already passed then, taken far too early. RIP John.

I think this video is a repost, but the first time I watched the bit about partials with momentum in the stretched section for the rear delts, I thought it was pretty silly advice. Fast forward to this year when I finally started implementing those and holy crap, John was right as always. What makes those so nasty is the momentum. Normally, you want to avoid momentum, but using it in this specific exercise forces the rear delts to activate in order for the DBs not to hit each other. That's what makse the exercise absolute fire. Thank you again, John! RIP.
