Just punished my rear delts yesterday and got a really good workout using your tips. My rear delts were screaming and I haven't felt that in a long time! Thanks for the tips.

I love how all trainers want to charge for Information, who have okay bodies. And with technology these days, we can learn for free from this pro body builder. Who would have thought one day that my personal trainer would be John Meadows!! Free knowledge.
I understand the spirit of what you're saying. When a trainer charges for information it's not a matter of gate keeping and profiting off of the access though, it's an energy exchange between their effort of organizing that information in a way that provides objective results and the work you put into making that extra money to exchange for their services. The information becomes THAT more valuable because you both had to invest a bit of yourself into giving it context and application. Not saying that somebody can't be self driven enough to figure everything out for free (RUclips, free classes, books), but even the best trainers have paid mentors in the past or exchanged energy with them in some way to find value in that info. The amount of info that John and trainers like him share is amazing though, I'm stoked it's becoming the new normal to be educators rather than salesman! :)
It's just a matter of how studious you are and how much time you have. Can you research, find the information you're looking for, filter out the good from the bad information, and apply it without external support? The average gym novice doesn't even know who John is, let alone what a barbell is for.
Best combination if you need it is a decent trainer in real time combined with information to give you more of a background. i self taught a lot of my training and had decent gains at times but there were gaps in knowledge that i had to fill by ongoing reading and watching and occasionally using a professional

I've always had smaller shoulders, but I started using the heavy weight partials and the seated front raises about 2 months ago, and have definitely seen gains. Thank you!

Man.. these 21 Reasons videos are absolute gold mines of information!! I agree with his comment about training shoulders first before chest. I usually do a light, high rep set of Arnold presses before bench just to get the engagement as my shoulder joints and anterior delts have always been (working on it) the weakest eccentric point of my bench press. R.I.P. to an absolute legend. Thanks for passing on powerful knowledge!

My trainer has me use 5lbs and a LOT of time under tension & my shoulders are popping. Shoulder pain prevents heavy lifting but it's amazing what you can achieve with light weights. She knows what she's doing 💪

Thank you, John! My shoulders have been lagging behind the rest of my body, and it's because I typically feel a lot of pain in the front of my shoulder near the Acromion process. I tried your deltoid tips today, and I slayed my deltoids - all three heads. They still feel tired hours later. And no pain in my shoulder!!! Thanks for sharing.

My God this high-quality content!!! Just when I think I know it all, this channel how little I do actually know... I tried your shoulder press variation just now and it made a massive difference in my shoulder joint pain. I thought it was because I was weak in the lift, but I'd never questioned the assumption and I'm not weak at anything. I was doing full range of motion, and pressing vertically with a behind the head alignment with dumbells... No wonder it was painful!. Thank you for this.

I’m a 25 year weight/ bodybuilding/powerlifting guy.. Arnold’s Encyclopedia was my first bible. As a 50 year old retired police officer I’m always looking for tips. I do Highland Games Strongman events during the summer months so I still do a fair amount of heavy training. I really learned a few things watching your posts. Just wanted to say thank you. I am doing the nucleus overload tactic on side laterals, where I do 100 each day (bodyweight) and add 5 more reps every day, I am starting to get some serious gains and my overhead standing press is also improving
The fastest I ever solved a rubik's cube was 17 seconds. I've commented in the past about this, and I just love that you are so proud of your son. He's very smart and talented. He would probably have an amazing musical brain as well. Great job with your gains and career. But, even better job being a great father and showing off your kid. The "partial lat raise" you demonstrated is BEAST!!! I forgot where I learned that oe from, but this one idiot, I mean dude at the gym, tried "correcting" me & I looked at his build & laughed. It actually helped to get my regular lateral raises stronger. Good tips like always.
I learned all the shoulder "safety" stuff the hard way. But this guy explained everything i learnt and i just wish i watched this guys vids before i got injured. I really appreciate this guy ❤️
Good stuff! I've been doing delts before chest for years. Right now I do OHP, chest, triceps, then high rep DB laterals to finish. I do rear delts on back day as a finisher. It's unconventional, but it works for me.

You're, the best. I use resistance bands because they're cheap, light weight and mobile. Also keeps me from a gym membership and taking up space in my house. But I take the information and workouts you provide and apply the same range of motion using bands. Thank you very much.

I'm lucky to a really good connection to most of the muscles in my body just naturally, but not so much of one in my shoulders. Do you think you could have a video on developing the mind muscle connection?
John Jamison try doing a 1/2 second iso at the top and hold the weight at the top of a lateral raise. 10-20ish reps maybe, you should definitely be feeling it. Stop any swinging and keep good ROM and you should kinda just feel it naturally tbh

This is one of if not the best shoulder routine advice I've seen. John is obviously concerned about shoulder damage and how to effectively train them without long term negative impact. I can't imagine why anyone would give this vid a thumbdown but I try not to concern myself with negativity anyway. That's a polite way of saying that there are a lot of idiots watching youtube.
Excellent video John. Im 55 years old and last year I had my supraspinatus and my infraspinatus repaired as well as my bicep reattached, I have since then fully recovered with a slight range of motion issue that is still in progress. I totally agree with avoiding behind the neck pressing and focusing on the rear delts first has kept me pain free. I appreciate you share this with us all!! Thanks again!!

I am doing the nucleus overload tactic on side laterals, where I do 100 each day (bodyweight) and add 5 more reps every day, I am starting to get some serious gains and my overhead standing press is also improving

The "partial lat raise" you demonstrated is BEAST!!! I forgot where I learned that oe from, but this one idiot, I mean dude at the gym, tried "correcting" me & I looked at his build & laughed. It actually helped to get my regular lateral raises stronger.

Good stuff! I've been doing delts before chest for years. Right now I do OHP, chest, triceps, then high rep DB laterals to finish. I do rear delts on back day as a finisher. It's unconventional, but it works for me.

You're, the best. I use resistance bands because they're cheap, light weight and mobile. Also keeps me from a gym membership and taking up space in my house. But I take the information and workouts you provide and apply the same range of motion using bands. Thank you very much.

In all seriousness, how do you suggest developing a mind muscle connection in shoulders? I'm lucky to a really good connection to most of the muscles in my body just naturally, but not so much of one in my shoulders. Do you think you could have a video on developing the mind muscle connection?

Try German volume training - 10 sets of 10 side lateral raises with the cable machine, I'd say you'll feel your shoulders after set 10!
You could also do pause reps at the top of each rep to keep the tension on the delt
For me. Dumbells and no lockout. On seated military press, pull your front delts together to raise the dbs, no lockout high reps
John Jamison try doing a 1/2 second iso at the top and hold the weight at the top of a lateral raise. 10-20ish reps maybe, you should definitely be feeling it. Stop any swinging and keep good ROM and you should kinda just feel it naturally tbh
you're a great father John, it's always good to see your son smashing out tricks, rubix cube is hard i use to try when i was younger but gave up haha i was rooting for him to finish before the buzzer!

This is one of if not the best shoulder routine advice I've seen. John is obviously concerned about shoulder damage and how to effectively train them without long term negative impact. I can't imagine why anyone would give this vid a thumbdown but I try not to concern myself with negativity anyway. That's a polite way of saying that there are a lot of idiots watching youtube.

Excellent video John. Im 55 years old and last year I had my supraspinatus and my infraspinatus repaired as well as my bicep reattached, I have since then fully recovered with a slight range of motion issue that is still in progress. I totally agree with avoiding behind the neck pressing and focusing on the rear delts first has kept me pain free. I appreciate you share this with us all!! Thanks again!!
