Awesome once again Ross. I bought the midi from Amazon still £16 but I’m glad I watched this video because I had no idea about needing the extra app for the iPad. This is fantastic and to be looking at about £19 to get it all working is brilliant. Thanks again for all the effort much appreciated.
So Ross unless I have all 6 inputs plugged in at once I get a stereo input on Inst one left...YES i am set to mono aka stereo off..this is valuable info for many who mY have struggled and spent hrs on figuring out the issue
Hi Ross so far you have been the only one I can interpret for best set up. However: My current goal is all 6 outputs of my band are going to 6 inputs of my Bose TS 8 mixer..which as you know is a much detailed setup from RC600. Correct me if I'm wrong. There are mainly 3 controlling areas..the menu -output- routing then choose either track or input/ rhythm..not to forget Loop- track- scroll all the way to rt and adjust each track accordingly. Somehow tra k 3 is going out on both sub one and two..back to the drawing board again.
So you have to set their signs for every song or patch? That seems like a lot of work can you set the assigned to work for every bank like a global setting?
Unfortunately, it isn't possible to save assigns across multiple memories, but there's a couple of ways around it. You could have one of your memories as a template, and then 'copy and paste' this template to a new memory. I use this method a lot when I want to keep all, or most of the settings and then just make the fine adjustments if needed. Or alternatively, you could purchase the RC Editor here, payhip.com/b/xfU5Q/af64989808c63ee which will give you the option to do many more things with the RC-600, including saving assigns to multiple memories. Also, you can use the promo code ROSS5BUCKS to save 10%. Hope this helps. Ross
Great job - Is it possible to connect two ipads to the RC? I am also sending messages from Onsong for program changes and wondered if you have two devices talking to the RC or just switching between apps? If so is it buggy? Thanks for all!
Thanks, hope you're finding the videos useful. Regarding 2 iPads, that's something I'm looking to do myself, so will take a look over the weekend and let you know. I don't really use OnSong anymore, and mainly use SongbookPro now, which is much more stable. Have you considered using this instead? Ross
Hey thank you for this video. Do you need to use the usb stick in case of wireless or it works via bluetooth with M-vave ms1? Is Onsong better option for creating setlist? Thx
I've never used the M-vave, so I wouldn't know I'm afraid. I don't actually use OnSong anymore, and create my setlists using SongbookPro, which works great. Ross
@peterszikszai4678 ahhh of course! For some reason, I thought you meant the M-Vave footswitch controller. In that case, yeah it works great wirelessly via Bluetooth and the iPad. I just use Midimittr to connect the devices and off we go!
Hi mate. G'day from Australia 🏄♂. Trying to use midipad2 to operate 'tap tempo' on my RC-600 (just to keep signatures in the right neighbourhood for my delays. Do everything live). Just can't get it going. Any thoughts? Cheers.
I've not tested it myself, but it may lie in the MIDI settings menu. You will probably need to change the Midi clock settings so that the internal clock isn't being used, and you can then control the tap tempo externally. Fingers crossed.
is there a list for the rhythm notes for all the different drums. and where did you get the list if there is ... i want to use a keyboard with pads to get drum pads eg midi channel 10 note mesage c2 = kick \ d2 = snare
There is indeed! Check out the RC-10R MIDI implementation chart here...www.boss.info/global/support/by_product/rc-10r/owners_manuals/ab0c5555-7a8f-43ca-9d34-3ae6fe63c17f/
Hi. Mind blown just a touch. I am buying one of these loopers. However, you seem to have given me some food for thought. If I have got this correct, from what you have said in this video and another, I should be able to wireless midi connect my electric drum kit to this RC600 device and use the drum kit to control the rhythm kits?
Thanks for the kind words, and I'm really glad you're getting something from the videos. In answer to your question, if your electronic kit had a MIDI Out, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to connect this to the RC-600 to play the built in rhythms, if that's what you want to achieve. Regarding wireless MIDI though, you'd just need to make sure you purchase the right adapter. My wireless MIDI setup in the video is using Bluetooth within the iPad, so if your kit had Bluetooth, then that should be fine. If not, you might need some sort of WIDI adapter to go wireless. Hope this helps! Ross
@Ross Gallagher Music Thanks, Ross. I appreciate the reply. My kit only has midi out, so it seems that it might do what I want. It is a Roland Drum kit, so there is no need to mess with it too much. Just midi out to midi in. Channel 10 is native for drums on the Roland gear, so my kit already outputs on channel 10. I am just weighing up my options for synchronized pedals - rc300 as master, rc600 as slave. Speaking to people like yourself, owners who have had the rc600 a while, I am gleaming a lot of information that is arming me for my first loop with the 600. Thanks again. Jake.
Hi Ross, thanks for that excellent video. I have just downloaded the app today - do you know if it is possible to set the rhythm tempo via a control change ?
Hi Ross 🙏🙏🙏 so much. I bought that Bluetooth Midi Adapter and followed your video. Everything works. Awesome! One questions: I have set all the midi Control Changes via Asignes. So far so good. But are they related to only every single memory slot? Not a system wide setting? Notes like a kick drum seem to work system wide. 🤔
Excellent! So glad it helped you out and it's all working for you! Unfortunately, it's not possible to set your assigns across the entire system, but I do have 2 things that could help you out. You could... 1. Save a template you're happy with, which has the assigns set you wish to use, and then copy this template across to whichever memories you intend to use it for. 2. There is a fantastic piece of software out there called the RC600 Editor, which allows you to do many cool things including, copying assigns across multiple memories. You will have to purchase this but in my option, it's worth every penny. You can find it here www.rc600editor.com/ Or do what I do, and do a combination of both! Hope this helps! Ross
OK. Got it. Thx. I will check out Regedit. One more thought of mine: I know the idea of templates and i used it before. But at the end of the day that means, if I am going to update my major template for whatever reason later at the RC600 itself (new fancy stuff or ideas) and copy this to any other memory where for example i already recorded a baseline, instruments, synth pad, etc. this will be deleted as well and i have to start from the scratch😢🤔 Or is there a way to only copy settings, asignes and not overwrite recorded tracks?
The best way would be to get hold of the RC-600 Editor! It will make life a lot easier for you in the long run and should allow you to do everything you like, with ease.
Yeaps, i already checked the demo version. Seems to manage what i was searching for. I am going to purchase the full version tomorrow. Already 01:00 pm. 🙈Thank you so much Ross. This makes realy fun. 🎸🎤
Hi Ross, l have set all the midi control changes via assigns. It worked but after somehow all settings on the Rc600 returned back to previous default setting. What l am doing wrong. Why assigns not saving automatically to RC600?
@serhan kalabak you will have to save the assigns to each memory, otherwise they will revert back to default. Press ENTER and EXIT together to save the memory settings.
Of course, I don't know why I didn't think of that. 🙈🤦♂️ I think buying the RC600 editor will save a lot of time for these processes. I will get it asap🙂
The best way would be to create a template that you're happy with, and then use this template to write to memories you'd like to use with the assigns set up. Or you could download the RC Editor which is a great tool to have and make your life a lot easier. Ross
Mat, you're a superstar. Thank you so much for contributing to the channel in the way that you do. It's people like you who give me the motivation to keep making these videos. Cheers, Ross
Thanks for going all the way and exploring beyond the obvious! May the art of live looping live long and prosper.
My pleasure, and same to you!

Yet another outstanding vid Ross, great job! 🙌
You're a gentleman and a scholar, Pete!
You LEGEND! You did it. Thanks man. APPRECIATE you work with all this. Can't wait to copy and do it myself. Cheers😀👍🙏
You know me, Mat! Got to give the people what they want! 😄 Hope you find it useful! Ross
Super helpful, thank you!
You're very welcome! And thank you so much for your contribution via buy me a coffee. Its truly greatly appreciated! Ross

Hi Ross, thanks for that excellent video. I have just downloaded the app today - do you know if it is possible to set the rhythm tempo via a control change ?

is there something for android pads>
Have you looked at TouchOSC? My latest video talks about how you csn use it to control the RC, but It's also available on Android. Ross

How can you see what midi message has been sent?
Or if its a sysex command?
Почему нет настройки переключения Bank A. B. C. D.
Педаль boss прекрасна и одновременно плоха.
Is there an app for android?😢
I think the app is just for iOS at the moment, unfortunately.
DO NOT buy the Lekato wireless midi, it is crap, it only works intermittently
Thanks, Brett. I haven't personally used the Lekato wireless device, but the one I'm using in the video has worked fine for me, without any issues.
Does the wireless midi have any noticeable delay compared with the wired USB?
