    It's possible to assign rhythm variations to your pedals in single mode but in this video, I will show you how to actually record rhythms to your loops so they can play back without even having your rhythms turned on. This way, you can record different kits, beats, variations and bring them in and out as you please. Enjoy!

    if you are loking for how to record the rythm, and want to save 10 minutes of your time, to record rythm to loop press:
    menu -> output -> routing -> input/rythm.
    press right arrow a few times to "rythm out"
    set to "loop"

    Thanx for this video about creating rhythmns with RC600. My question is : is it possible to import simply my own rhythms (built in Reaper for example), like it was possible in the RC 300 ?

    • @RossGallagherMusic
      @RossGallagherMusic  7 месяцев назад

      There is a tool called the Boss Rhythm Converter, which will allow you to create and import your own rhythms. Another way would just be to import a .wav file for a rhythm/backing track onto one of your tracks. This would only work if you have a spare track you aren't using though. Hope this helps.

    Hi Ross! you are the "Boss"! haha, thanks for your videos! just have one question about something that I tried yesterday but was not able to make work. Let's say you have 2 tracks, #1 for the verse and #2 for the chorus and at the end, you repeat the chorus a couple of times, and then you want to have a repetition only with the percussion or rhythm so the audience can sing along, and then a final repetition of the chorus with the track 2 and the rhythm on. So I tried pressing button 9 in mode 1, for "Start/stop all" function and it worked to stop the track, but when I pressed it again to restart it, it always sent me to track 1 and wouldn't resume the last track that was playing....is there a way to do it? I know I can press the particular start/stop button of track 2, but I was wondering if such a central start stop button existed, because, you know, I could have multiple tracks in parallel and want to stop all at the same time. Thanks in advance.

    • @RossGallagherMusic
      @RossGallagherMusic  Год назад

      Haha, thanks so much for your kind words. Have you thought about using the 'mark back' feature? That way, you could set the mark on the track for just the percussion parts that you'd want the audience to song along to, add the remaining layers for your chorus part, and when you want to revert back to the percussion, you can do so. Would that set up work for you? Ross

  • @brutexrp7207

    Can you have the same button start and stop the loop instead of one to start and the one beside it to stop? Aslo how did you get the little fill on the start/stop button at the end?

    • @RossGallagherMusic
      @RossGallagherMusic  10 месяцев назад

      Absolutely! Just change the functionality of the pedal to REC/PLAY 4 in the CTRL FUNC settings. For the fill, you can turn on/off a fill for an ending in the settings. You can also have a fill play at the start of a recording if you wish. Cheers, Ross

  • @AKustik632

    Hi! Great videos. I was just thinking of one thing. Why do you record them instead of just playing, then assign for rythm variation maby or what do you want for chorus for example? Am i missing something? 😮 also if you rcord the tempo stucks at recorded tempo?

    • @RossGallagherMusic
      @RossGallagherMusic  Год назад

      Good question - if you record them to your loops, you have the option of changing the kit instead of just a variation.

  • @williepurificacion2474

    How can you put up the volume of the drums (rhythm) when you record it? The problem is the balancing because the volume of the drums is usually much lower than the newly recorded instrument like piano or guitar much more with blowing lines when you dub them!! The drum volume is just too low compared to the others!! Do you have any advice for that? Thanks a lot in advance.

    Hi Ross, thanks for this video! I'm interested in this looper but can I ask you a quick question please? Can I setup drum tracks as you have done here but also record a verse on top of the first track, loop this for a few bars then switch to the 2nd track and record a chorus over a different drum track, then switch back to track 1 for verse etc?
    Also, I use an rc30 but there is no way to stop/start the rhythm with your foot so I'd also like to record a single loop with a drum track but turn drums off for the verse and on again for the chorus. Looks like I should be able to do this by using the rhythm stop/start function? Thanks man 😊

    • @RossGallagherMusic
      @RossGallagherMusic  Год назад +1

      Hi Ian, thanks for the message. Yeah, that all sounds doable to me. After you record the rhythm to a track, let's say track 1, you could then just overdub this with whatever you like and use that for a verse. Then move on to track 2 for your chorus etc. You can also use the 'mark back' feature which would then remove any layers that you've added, if you really wanted to. This is a nice way of reverting back to a certain point in your loop without having to start again. I will stick a video up about that in due course.
      Anyway, I digress! Regarding the rhythm start/Stop function - this is certainly possible to do with a pedal on the RC-600 or by assigning this to a seperate footswitch like the FS-7, which is what I tend to do. However, if you record the rhythm to the loop, it just means that you would have to stop the track you have recorded it to, which would also stop any additional loops you have added to it. But if you don't record the rhythm to a track, then that would be your best way of starting and stopping with the footswitch. Does this answer your question?
      Apologies if it's a bit long winded. It's a complex piece of kit after all! Cheers, Ross

    • @ianmoore4213
      @ianmoore4213 Год назад +1

      Thanks so much for the quick response Ross, I think this answers my questions but as you said this seems to be a very complex piece of kit! I don't think I'd use 90% of the features in this unit but I just need a simple 2 track looper like my rc30 but with the option to turn rhythm on/off at different parts of the song and to add chorus or bridge sections with a second track. I guess I could use the 3rd track buttons to turn on/off rhythm in this case?
      Also, have you used the harmonies on this unit? I use rc30 and a separate tc helicon harmoniser but I think I could possibly replace the tc helicon with this unit and assign a button to activate vocal harmonies per memory patch?
      Also, is it possible to assign onboard buttons to move up/down through memory banks or would I need an fs6 or 7 to do this?
      Again, thanks so much for your extremely helpful content and quick response. I really appreciate it 🙏

    • @RossGallagherMusic
      @RossGallagherMusic  Год назад +1

      @Ian Moore no problem at all. If you're only using a couple of tracks, then you could certainly use the remaining tracks to start and stop your selected rhythms. Plus, if you do record rhythms to the tracks, then you also have the option to choose from the many different rhythms built in to the unit.
      I have indeed used the vocal harmonies and you can achieve something decent when you play about with EQ and FX. But your TC Helicon might be better for this. I know a few people do struggle when they compare the harmony FX to other units they have.
      Yes, you can also assign pedals on the unit to change memory banks on the RC-600. If you get chance, have a look through my other videos and you'll see a way of how to set this up. Hope this helps. Ross

    I own an RC-50 and just upgraded to the RC-600. On the RC-50 I could start the Guide/Click before recording to help me get the timing correct. The cool thing was no matter when I started recording that moment became beat one. With the RC-600 if I start the Guide/Click first and then I record but it happens to be on beat 2,3,4 of the guide then it starts recording on beat 2,3,4. I want everything to quantize but I would like it to behave like the RC-50 and whenever I hit record button then that becomes beat one. I looked in the Manual and couldn't find anything to change this. Is there a setting that can fix this? Am I missing something?

    • @RossGallagherMusic
      @RossGallagherMusic  Год назад +1

      Thanks for the comment. It is possible to preset the amount of bars that are recorded, meaning you won't need to manually hit the stop button. However the first loop you record will require you to manually set the length, but subsequent loops can be predetermined.
