Thank you, Ross. Excellent video. For us older, not so computer literate people, this kind of instruction makes so much more since than the owner’s manual every could. And thanks for the shout-out on the Sonicake toppers! They are wonderful.
Thank you so much for this video. I have had my rc600 for 3 months now, and this was the best explained video on this unit I've seen. It will make learning to play guitar loops so much easier. 😊
My wife just bought me one of these, and this is the best video I’ve found on it. When it arrives I’ll use this as a reference point to set mine up how I’d like it 😁
Thanks dude, this video is awesome. This pedal unit is seriously understated in terms of power. This is essentially an entire studio in a small red box.
You're very welcome! I hope you're finding use from some of the other videos, too. It is indeed a very complex piece of kit, but that's what makes it such a fantastic device for us loopers! Ross
@@RossGallagherMusic yeah thanks man, enjoying the content and I’m happy that so many others have videos on the unit as well, the way one uses this unit is totally up to them, I’m a little frustrated at not being certain how I want to go about things since I’ve never owned another looper and don’t have any established preferences for how they should work. I fully acknowledge tho that this is a good thing and my uncomfortableness is a sign that I’m doing what I should be doing in order to grow into this device.
Thank you so much, Ross. My RC-600 has been staring at me like HAL 9000 since I bought it - it's quite intimidating out of the box with all the buttons. I've just done my first loop, thanks to your video.

Thank you very much for this video Ross! It’s the reason i ordered one last week. It arrived yesterday and i set it up just as you described here. Works like a charm. I bought and sold loopers for years. I’ve used several boss rc models, a boomerang, singular sound aeros loop studio, etc. Your array of 6 single pedal loopers in mode 1 is really what sold me on this looper. I’m looping forward to the simplicity and versatility of this configuration.
Thank you so much for your kind words Andrew. It means a lot that this video had reached people like you and helped you out in some way. I hope the device is all you expected and more and best of loop for the future!! Ross
I'm really new to looping. Of the ones you've tried which was your favorite? I'm drawn to the 600 because it has effects and it seems that you could get a good enough bass tone on your guitar with the provided octave effect. Do any of the others have built in effects? Thanks for your time.@@andywason3414
Thanks, this really helped me understand how to navigate through the endless menus and options. You really break things down into small understandable parts that build on each other. Great job!

Thank you for such a clear concise video, especially for those of us just starting out. This set up makes total sense to me and this is where I will start. Just purchased the RC 600 and have been immersed in videos for a few days now, but your explanations are among the best I have seen, not to mention the camera work and being able to read the lcd screen on the unit. Thanks for taking the time to put this together. Well done!!
The downside of making six single-button loopers is that when you clear a track it plays for a second or two while you hold the pedal down. Even if that track isn’t playing at the time, it comes on for a bit before it erases. Could ruin a moment or two. Better to have a dedicated stop/erase button for each track.
Thank you so much!! Without the help of your video I wouldn't be able to comprehend what this machine is about. This saved me from a lot of trouble and frustrations. Cheers!!!

Nicely done. I wish all tutorial videos were like this - clear instructions, we can see exactly what you're doing, and no unnecessary waffle. It's a complete contrast to another video I just watched, where rapid jump cuts were used, even between button presses when changing a setting. With the unnecessarily rapid narration, by the end, I was no wiser how to do what he suggested, or why. With your video, everything was so clear, I don't think I'd need to watch it again to make every change you made.
Thank you so much for taking the time to watch the video and indeed for your kind words. When I first made this video, I had no intention of creating a RUclips channel. Absolutely brilliant teaching video. I knew nothing about loopers until I watched your video. Think I now feel confident enough to go out and buy the Boss RC 600 and also do some little 'tweaks' One thing I saw in another video was that you could turn off the BIG blinking dial that is aligned to the tempo when nothing else is going on. Hi John, many thanks for your kind words. It's greatly appreciated and hope you've also found some use out of the other videos. To answer your question, I would say it's definitely possible for you to achieve all of those things. With respect to triggering backing tracks, it's not something I've personally done, but because the recorded audio files are .wav files, you should be able to add those to selected TRACK folder and use that particular track to play back your backing track. Hope this helps?

Brilliant video. I usually get frustrated and pull my hair out trying to watch videos like this, but yours is amazing!! Any chance I could ask a few questions? Happy to pay for some 1 on 1 tutorial work? Please. Having awful trouble
One more question (as your tutorial as literally been EXTREMELY helpful!) - You mentioned you could control individual loop volumes with your volume pedal. How would you set this up? Thanks!
You could control your individual loop volumes in a few ways; you could use an expression pedal, use a midi contoller/keyboard with knobs or faders, or even use a MIDI app such as Touch OSC on an iPad. You will need to set up a few assigns to do this but is certainly possible. The easiest way though, would be to use the knobs on your RC-600 to control a few loop volumes. If you get to MENU>SETUP, you could do this here. Hope this helps.
Hi Lyndon, I'm not entirely sure to be honest as I don't own either of those units. But if I can get my hands on one, it's definitely something I'd like to look at in more detail!
You're most welcome! I do try to break down things as easily as possible, so please check out other videos I've made on RC-600. Hopefully you'll find those useful as well. Cheers, Ross
This was excellent! I switched from Boss RC 300 (which I sold) to Ableton Live which we use for live streaming. But I miss a looper pedal for live gigs. Ableton and the cables for audio interfaces is just too much to set up. This just saved me a ton of start up time.
Ahh, you're very kind. Thanks so much for your comment. The caps are called footswitch toppers and come on all sorts of designs and colours. Fantastic! You're very welcome!
Great video dude, thanks! I just got mine a few days ago, have been having a blast with it but I'm ready to buckle down and get serious. This helped a lot!
Glad I could help!
This video is a treasure! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Very good en in depth review.. Thanks.. Regards
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much for this great tutorial. It was very helpful for me as a Rc600 newbie:-)
Fantastic! That's great to hear!
Great information. I upgraded from a Boss RC-50, so the RC-600 was a head-scratcher at first. This really helped. Thanks!
Glad it helped!
Clear explanation, thank you so much! I wish to see one more video about how you combined with FS7 for harmony?
Thanks so much for the comment and I'll be making a video very shortly aboutt using the FS-7 to switch on/off harmonies so stay tuned!
Awesome, informative video! Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
OMG Man Well Done !
Cheers Dave!
Thanks a lot. Very clear. Just got one. Flute player. All the best!
Thank you so much. Glad it helped!
Thank you so much ! What a great video! Helped me a lot :)
You're welcome! Glad you've found it helpful!
How would you incorporate The QuadCortex and the GT1000 through this device ? Thanks. Great video. Highly informative
Hi Lyndon, I'm not entirely sure to be honest as I don't own either of those units. But if I can get my hands on one, it's definitely something I'd like to look at in more detail!
Thanks for starting with the basics. This is great. Why don't others do that with complex items?
You're most welcome! I do try to break down things as easily as possible, so please check out other videos I've made on RC-600. Hopefully you'll find those useful as well. Cheers, Ross
This was excellent! I switched from Boss RC 300 (which I sold) to Ableton Live which we use for live streaming. But I miss a looper pedal for live gigs. Ableton and the cables for audio interfaces is just too much to set up. This just saved me a ton of start up time.
Absolutely brilliant! Glad I could help out in some way. Cheers, Ross
Awesome video, thanks Ross!
My pleasure!
So helpful! Thank you for making this!!
You're so welcome. Glad you've found it helpful!
What do you call those caps for the footswitches and where do you get them? You do a great job at explaining the rc 600. Thanks
Ahh, you're very kind. Thanks so much for your comment. The caps are called footswitch toppers and come on all sorts of designs and colours. The ones I use in the video are made by Mooer, and the ones I have now are made by a company called Sonicake. You can find a link to both in the description if you want to buy them. Ross
super useful video. thanks
You're very welcome. There's plenty of other content on the channel you may find useful, too!
