Thanks for the video, Rob. I have had my RC600 for a few days coming from a 500, so still wrapping my head around it. I tried the MEASURE settings. A second stationary loop seems to start..... depending on where you press....with the 12, 3, 6 & 9 points of a clock. So unless you engage in the 6 o'clock position, you will be 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 out of phase. OTOH, if use the LOOP setting, the loops are always running in sync with each other. Stopping one, then restarting it results in the starting exactly in sync with the other loops, as it was originally recorded. It wont wait for the beginning of the measure to start though....its always immediate. My only issue is....unless I am missing something.... there seems to be no option to arm the loop beforehand so it will kick in at the start of the loop. Only option seems to be immediate (or FADE). If its in MEASURE mode, when you engage the loop, it will only come in at the points of the clock (measure) & at loop start point, so will be out of phase unless you engage just before 6o'clock position. Please correct me if I am mistaken.....
Just a quick question, what version of the firmware are you using? I have stayed on 1.21 as it has been the most stable and works exactly how I want. Any update beyond 1.21 for some reason has completely jacked up my synch settings.
@@robworkmanmusic3881 I updated the firmware as soon as I got it, so have no experience of any firmwares before 1.4. I have had no sync issues for the way I am using it. Cheers!
Jim, thanks for watching and glad it was helpful! I assume you are referring to vocal harmonies?? If so, I don’t use the RC 600 for that. I use a TC Helicon pedal to get those. However, to do so in the RC600…it is the same thing I went over in setting up input effects. Just assign the harmony function to the mic only input and you will need to assign a button to control it. I would recommend one of the boss extension pedals for that function. Hope that helps, if not let me know.
Hi Rob, Thanks for the video. I wanted to know if there was a way to set all the tracks to just auto repeat off the first track's bar length. (This is the default of how the older RC300 worked.) Eg. I record Track A for 8 counts and let it play. I start Track B and record 4 counts and let it play. What would happen is that the second half of the bar would be empty. But the reason I want this is that I want to directly record multiple layers above each other without worrying about the start point. For example : I want to play a rhythm on track 1 for 4 bars, and then record a beat on track 2 for 4 bars starting from the 2nd bar and loop it into the 1st bar of the next line to avoid waiting for 4 bars to play and then start recording cause this would make the looping process quite long during a live show.
That´s exactly what I´m trying to figure out. This used to be the setting on my RC 30 and now I can´t find a way to replicate that on the RC 600. @Rob do you have any idea to solve this? Best wishes
That’s actually the way I have it set up now. For example, I record an 4 bar rhythm on track 1, I then either record keys, bass or guitar on track b. The length of track b depends on how I’m setting up the loop. It can be 4, 8, 16. Doesn’t really matter as it is set to “free” and not tied to the loop length of track A. The only thing it affects is everything is quantized to track A for synch purpose. Your actually problem may be with which update version you are on. I have stayed on version 1.21. For some reason Boss changed the way things work in subsequent updates (they may have fixed it now, I just haven’t looked). Long ramble, but let me know if that helps!
Hi thank you for the great video I have just recently acquired one of these and I'm just getting into looping I wondered if you could tell me what the simplest where to set this is. I'm still having hassle getting to hit the loops at the right time . Is there a kind of lineup quantize?
Thanks for the listen and comments!! Congrats on jumping into the live looping rabbit hole. There is a quantize function as I mentioned I believe in this video. The best advice I can give you is practice, practice, practice! Lay down a simple beat, then a simple bass line and practice over and over again until you get your feet working together with your playing. Also, check out @mattboltonmusic if you have not already. He gives a master class in live looping everytime he goes live. Let me know if you have other questions!! Good luck
Thanks for listening! Do you mean as you record them or on playback? When recording you still need to start on the downbeat. On playback, the way this is set up you can hit play and it won’t come in until the downbeat of the first recorded track.
@@robworkmanmusic3881 thanks for the valuable information ! I used a 1 track RC-3 for years where everything was a overdub of the first track. The 6 tracks of the RC-600 opens up many opportunities ...
Thanks
There are so many tutorials for the RC 600! I am waiting for laptop/bluetooth function where I can catch problems early on; especially on stage!!
That would be a game changer for sure!
Thanks for the video, Rob.

Thank you for this. Cant wait tp try it out later
Thanks for the listen! Let me know how it works for you!
What I would like to know is how you get harmony set to a button.
Nice video. It helped me a lot with my looping.
Thanks
