Just a quick note to say a HUGE THANK YOU for figuring this out and sharing it in simple easy to follow instructions! It is awesome to use this inexpensive app to add so many more features for using my IPAD to work the BOSS RC600 with out needing to bend over. i just created a template and i’m off and running with so much more greater control. well done!
Awesome!! Really thinking about doing this for my FX banks! Just FYI.. CC1 is general midi mapping for mod wheel.. be careful what CCs you are using. (Wish I would have known this back in my mapping days).. a simple google search will help you decide which CCs to use.. My issue was if I use the same midi channel from an external controller then oh poop!
@@5721chevy I run iPad synths/keys / samples so my stuff gets confusing… I just wanted to point it out incase you decide to add more midi connections Really cool idea!! Keep at it!
Hi. Great tutorial. Thank you! I followed all of your instructions. Everything looks great. One problem. The iPad isn’t seeing the RC-600. I’m using the Yamaha MD-BT01 for Bluetooth to midi. Thoughts?
It might be the bluetooth adapter. I have the lightning connector hooked to the iPad and a standard usb cable hookup to the lightning connector to the 600. When you went to each assign did you turn the switch to the on position?
@@5721chevy I did. I’m m trying to control the boss RC 600. I have the MD- BT01 plugged into the midi slots in the RC 600. It’s strange because there’s another program out there that sends and receives cc controls from the iPad and it works just fine. However, on that program there are menus to select the Wi-Fi signal you’re on. as well as a menu to select a Bluetooth connection. I don’t see that on touch OSC. I only see the MIDI menu. Thank you so much for your response.
Matt, Make sure you assigned a midi number on the touchosc editor. It is on video 2 at 12:28. You have to set channel to 1 and number is the midi number you assign. Go to video 3 at :34. Click assign , switch set to on, Source is your midi number, source mode is moment for sliders and toggle for on off buttons, Target set to what you want to control. That should do it. Dont forget to save it. Keep in mind the assigns are not global, they are only saved to the memory you have selected. Best way to do it is set up a template with all your assigns. Name that memory template. When making a new song use the template but save it to a new memory. That should do it!
Thanks for the video! I feel like there's a part missing though, where do you assign the midi events in TouchOSC? For example you start this video saying that CC#01 is All Start/Stop, but I think I've watched all your videos and you never set that up anywhere in TouchOSC. Thanks!
Thank you. Start watching video #2 at timestamp 16:00. This is where you enter the Midi number you are going to assign to the RC600. It is under Midi tab and goes in next to where it says number. I hope this helps.
@@bsmusic3460 Ah, I'm using TouchOSC, not TouchOSC Mk1 so the interface I was looking for in the video was quite different. Here's the correct timestamp if anyone else is looking for it however ruclips.net/video/jI5TD_1JeXY/видео.html Thanks again.
Boss should definitively provide an officIal App. If you want to use the pedal with your feets you can't change settings by hand. There must be at least a button to change effect banks and a button for the forth effect on the input and the track. There should also be a button to change memory banks.
These videos have been super helpful. Thank you SO much!!
You are welcome. I have been using this set up at gigs for 3yrs now. Getting ready to change the OSC layout a bit.

Thanks Mark. You could make different layouts for a batch of songs. Enjoy!
Mark, check back tomorrow as I am doing one more video on how to control the memories 1-99.
Genius. Thanks for sharing your progress and taking the time to explain so clearly. Much appreciated.
Thank you. I hope it helps.

Doesn’t look like TouchOSC supports Bluetooth. Enjoy the weekend.

I can’t get mine to work can you show what your midi settings are on the RC? (The general settings?)
