Miss hearing The Old Left Hander and Marty on 700 WLW The Big One during Summer nights with my transistor radio! A part of my late youth and early manhood!
Marty and Joe on Reds radio-there was nothing better to hear. I greatly miss those two and all their stories, memories, controversies, and insights. There was nothing better than to have the game on the radio while being outside or in bed listening to the games on the West Coast. I couldn't go to sleep until I knew the Reds had won. I greatly appreciate them memories.
Another Portsmouth, VA person hits a homerun on the national stage! A terrific guy, with terrific parents, from a terrific city, and the best high school class you could imagine. I don't think any of Marty's friends are surprised. And he still comes "home" for the high school reunions. Best wishes for continued success and health. P.S. - Vann sends his best! David Peck
Marty says he's never been moved to tears. But I sure have hearing his voice calling 'And this one belongs to the Reds' I was 15 years old when Marty started calling for the Reds. A life time for him and one for me.
Just say "Marty and Joe" anywhere around Cincinnati and people KNOW exactly who you're talking about. That's a real legacy. I also like Jeff Brantley, Tommy Thrall, Doug Flynn and all the present-day Reds broadcasters. They are first-class too.
