For my first grader's geography lessons we usually read about the topic she's learning about and then do a small amount of book work (like a fill-in-the-blanks activity or answering questions about the topic). Do you think it's a good idea doing some book work for every lesson, or would it be ok to sometimes skip the book work and just do some reading/fun activities online related to the topic? I'd love your advice :)
You are welcome, these books are great and easy to use. We sometimes skip the book work. I will just read the chapter aloud and the children will recite back to me what they have learnt. Sometimes it’s good to mix things up to add variety for the kids, keeps them interested
