The solution is: after a thorough cleaning of the kitchen, place bowls of white vinegar all over the home overnight. Replace in the morning. After two days, curry smell is gone.

How do I stop curry odors from entering my apartment? There is an Indian family two floors down from me and thier curry cooking comes through my open windows and makes my place smell strongly like curry and it makes my eyes burn and I sneeze like crazy. I feel bad saying it but it sucks. It takes awhile to get the smell out and I tried using sprays and closing my windows. But that doesn't work. They cook curry lots and I can't take it anymore. It feels like my eyes are on fire and I can't breath 🥺
Anyone have this issue and know of a solution?
Hi I am dealing with the same situation. They cook at 11:30 in the night. The smell takes forever to get out. I can’t breathe it’s ridiculous. I spoke to them but it’s the same situation what to do
install a fan right above the window facing downwards and keep it running, it prevents the air from the outside to get in, works for adjusting temperature too

All people who are writing bad comments about indian food here should know that in india either khichens will be in separate area of home away from rooms or there will be two khichens one open in the courtyard and one inside ..western homes are not suitable for that kind of cooking ..

Indian neighbor at below my apartment cook curry everyday. The curry smell stains my clothing when I stick outdoor for air dry. Feel like to tell them off, but I didn't do so. For fear that, they will say I am racist. Their Indian curry smell really awful 🤣. I rewash my laundry. I monitor their curry cooking schedule. They cook curry. I don't do air dry. I take in the laundry immediately when Indian curry smell waft through the block.

Just had new neighbors move next to me and now my unit smells like an Indian restaurant. It nauseating. Mind you it’s 9pm. Now I have to go to target tomorrow and buy a bunch of room deodorizers. I know it’s only going to mask it, but it all I can do. Now I’m ready looking forward to moving soon.
This is sold for walkers, campers to purify drinking water. A few drops from each of two bottles. It is very safe.

Some landlords have to actually repaint, change carpets, and use special cleaners to try and rid of curry smells and even then it's not always 100%. Curry smells are one of the hardest odors to eliminate. Even worse then cigarette odor. It's a big problem especially among rentals. I've been reading alot on it because my neighbors Curry cooking is seeping into my apartment and it's causing issues and I haven't found one solution yet. It's really sucks.

My University random roommate who is Indian (not purposely trying to be racist or offensive just telling the type of person) eats curry with a lot of onion cuz the smell is wild or oily fried food such as nuggets and I have nothing against his food but it’s just that since we live in a apartment lodge that is like around 50-75squares, since it’s not too large but enough for 2 people to live simply, the problem I’m facing is the strong mild smell from curry onions and oiled fried, and of course I dont want to tell my roommate since it would be offensive and I still have lock in contract until 2024/2/1 so I dont want to mess up the relationship. Anyways, all I want to know is there a way of removing the smell? I can’t open windows is because for some reasons it attracts these small black flying insects to my small room and the kitchen doesn’t have any windows.
You should really tell him. He should be mindful of other people. Over time they get used to their weird cooking smells so they need to be given an aggressive reminder

At this point you just have to tear the entire apartment/house down to get rid of the smell. Theres no other way.
Wells there's nothing we can do about it. We can't just say to them "stop eating" so I guess it's either you buy a different house or you just ask a constructor to build you a new house.

Problem is we bought a duet and didn't know how badly it smelled.
All grease gone, all cabinets wiped down three times, etc.
Still it reaks...its rotten that it was NOT disclosed. Two more drawers to go, clean carpet and paint. Drywall is out of budget.

@@reshmahussein521 diffuser you pour in any scent even cologne or perfume and water. then you turn on the machine works only for your room though so clothes are safe from the curry smell at least. also, I heard an air purifier is better cause it actually cleans the air instead of just mask the smell.

Hi sorry for the late response, I'm not getting notified of comments for some reason.
Unfortunately nothing can be guaranteed 100%. If it is curry odor in the vehicle I would first recommend hot water extracting all textiles with a deodorizer mixed in with the cleaning chemical. Wipe down all hard surfaces with a cleaner/deodorizer also. Only after the surface clean you could go with the CLO2. Depending on severity it could take a couple of treatments. Make sure to run the HVAC vents in the vehicle while the treatment is going.

Just just bring a small pot of water to a boil with a bit of fabuloso in it for like 15mins and the house is back to just smelling clean and good.

Do you think maybe for a second that you are just accustomed to your own cooking and therefore don't realise how strong the odour is? We can literally smell the cumin coming through in your sweat. Its insanely strong. I spent 4 years of my degree in classrooms and lecture halls around Chinese and Indians and I'll tell you for a fact it wasn't the Chinese who were assaulting us with their odour.

@Wolfreign Valenford lmao idk if you're being sarcastic but oudh or agarwood is a type of scent and is said to be the most expensive wood in the world it's oil can be used a diffuser to take any smells from your house, they're mainly used by arabs but since my ethnic background is central and south asian so i come from a muslim family hence i know about this scent

@@n8vckko515 Other people don't put as many onions into their curries and hence the smell doesn't linger that long. There is a reason why Indians (not Thais and Burmese) smell distinctively to foreigners.
How about ventilate your apartment,clean regularly, and boil water with citrus fruit or tea tree oil . This video has encouraged so many racist comments about curry, pretty sure fish and chicken dishes smell as much
