I agree with Troy Baker my 1991 S10 has 200k on it and still runs excellent. 26mpg- cold air- cruise control still works etc. If you take care of your truck it will last.
my 1991 2.8 with 5 speed manual was amazing. combined average 25 mpg,30/31 highway. when a/c compressor died i installed smaller serpentine belt bypassing the compressor pulley, felt the improved performance immediately! hardly burned oil. hit a deer and t boned a car up North. truck fine after replacement parts/ paint. salted winter roads finally corroded chassis so severely, brake lines ruptured and electric circuit's kept losing ground. finally timing chain so stretched that original, fully stocked engine died at over 307,800 miles. rust also from poor body shop work also greatly increased rusty body panels. i still miss that truck. so wish it never left the sunbelt for the snowbelt.i would have replaced engine if body and chassis great condition. s10 in video looked ok for it's age but damn that hydraulic whine and engine rattle sounded awful!!! can hear that truck from next time zone!
Alex Pencek... I beg to differ!! I have a 91 Sonoma 2wd 2.8 with 325,000 plus miles original internal parts. Gave the truck to my grandpa for around 2 years. He didnt even put a thousand mile on it. Got the truck back in 03 and Hit 300,000 back in 2007. Drove it another 15 thousand then park it for 6 months before giving it to my Dad 5 years ago. It's still on the road. Not to mention I was really hard on the truck. It's proved itself very reliable. Sorry bout your dad's luck.
i agree there tough af my 93 2.8 has over 365,000 on it and the 5spd trans is the only major problem ive had in the almost 6yrs ive owned the truck and the trans still half assed worked i just lost 4th gear is all
I used the body off this truck (without the bed) to build a rear-engined S10 with a '74 Cadillac 500 cu. in. V8. This body was rust free and in excellent condition. I posted a RUclips video: "Rear Engined "Beast", '91 Chevy S10". Eric Seltzer, Sparks, NV
Please friend, do you make me a favor? Could you make a new video with vacumm hoses, mi track does not work it. And i did not find the vacum hoses diagram. My track is a CHEVROLET BLAZER 1991 V6 3.1, please
Well sort of, I cut off the frame behind the cab and attached the complete front frame with engine and transmission from a '74 Cadillac Eldorado, 500 cubic inch V8. See my RUclips post: "Rear Engined "Beast" '91 Chevy S10, Cadillac 500-V8 Powered ". Thanks for watching.
alex pencek Your dad must not take care of his trucks or he's trying to make the thing put out more HP than the engine components can handle. My '91 s10 is bone stock and has just below 300,000km on it, still runs and drives fantastic! I have replaced the intake manifold gasket once, but thats all... ...t's called preventative maintenance there bud.
mine was the stick shit. I just dumped clutch like no tomorrow. and floored it where ever I went. Did i mention that i didn't give a fuck about that truck lol

I raced the shit out of mine and the trans went before the engine had a chance to break. I beat the living shit out of the damn thing.
Oh and he replaced 2 transmissions on it by the third one he decided to change it to a manuel and that transmission lasted
