***Full Disclosure: taotronics sent me their mesh wifi router in exchange for a 30 second ad read.
What's your worst print fail? How many hours of print time did you lose?
mine was print in place gearbox that took like 14 hours
1 day 15 hours worst part was it was for a school project and I didn’t have enough time to do another
@@outofammo2446 that's terrible :( i've never lost any print over 24 hours but i feel your pain. thanks for watching
@@tadplayer687 ouch! sorry for your loss :(
Thanks, you've shown duff prints before, few channels do.. I remember someone said 3D Printers should be called, 'disappointment machines'..
It’s nice to know I’m not alone
Way
It happens to me so much idk what to do I’ve tried everything
I always thought that these cool channels like had perfect prints everytime and mine were failing so much it does feel nice to know I'm not alone phew
Yes there are 7 bilion people in the word ;)
Yeah, I have 3 ender 3s and it's a good 60/40. Print requirements vary greatly from print to print, and this usually causes issues. Changing resolution or the size of the print can cause failures. Looking at it too hard, having happy thoughts.... All these things will cause failures😝😂 Biggest thing is to clean/glue your bed for that first layer to stick well. But you don't see me uploading failures because I want it to look like I know what I'm doing😎😝 but as someone who prints, I enjoy watching failure videos more than reg time lapse.
should def do more of these. lets everyone know its not always daisy's and roses
i absolutely will! thanks for watching!
So sad yet oddly satisfying to watch... absolutely love the camera angles and quality!
I know it's not the focus of the video, but these filaments are gorgeous, and what you were attempting to print looked impressive! Do you think you could start sharing links to the filaments you use and the prints you make? I understand if some of the prints are paid files, but I'd still like to see what the finished ones look like
Ah yea. The dreaded sphaghetti
Very cool spaghetti! 👍🤣🤣
never forgetti
2:15 this Oof sounds its funny and this 5:05! 😂 continue with such sound 👍
I always managed to be closeby and fix the delaminated parts with painters tape :D
My print failed as I was watching this. :(

What was it
Could watch these on repeat 24/7 😁
Encouraging to know even someone like you has failed on occasion. My worst fail was while using Wood PLA for the first time, my printer jammed up and smelled like a forest fire in my house. The printer was never the same and it really did a number on the whole thing. Months later I finally diagnosed the cause being the heatblock fan was reversed and not properly cooling the heat throat and the PTFE tubing was getting too hot and causing the filament to expand and jam or under extrude. Once I fixed that, my printer was as good as new or even better seeing as I had replaced a ton of other parts trying to figure out the source of all my problems.
My kids love your videos. They say they're so satisfying especially before bedtime. 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
When a print fails, i use the spaghetti (extruded plastic)as a scrubber in my kitchen. Works like a charm every time 😅
One great thing about your videos is the clock in the background ty for that!
Most problems from not good adhesion and from Timelaps!
How from Timelapse ?
Watching these is a guilty pleasure of mine, not because I like watching hard work go to waste, but because I think its really funny when the whole thing just goes flying and looks terrible all of a sudden
You could become an italian chef with the amount of spaghetti you made.
I understand how hard you've done so far. I love so much your timelapses
How many hours?? No idea..around a week in time lost..endless lessons. Thanks for showing the struggle bro
This is the worst nightmare you can get if you make 3d models
Watching the 3d print get printed is simultaneously the most and least satisfying thing I've ever seen.
I really don't understand how you manage to actually break the part you're printing so often. Especially impressive they don't just pop off the build plate.
Another name for this vid shot on phone meme 3D printer edition 😂
i love these, its like watching someone fail at edging
The noise at 2:15 got me :D
the mark of humility :)
As someone with 3 Ender 3s, I find these more fun to watch than reg successful time lapse. 😝😂 Everyone has the great successful prints, but don't wanna show the true ugly side of wasting filament. 😝
The Spaghetti Monster can strike any time, anywhere😂😂
When you least expect it 🍝
One could also call it 3D Printing Nightmares :D This video is so different from all your other super satisfying videos! But I really like it! I'm following your channel for a while now and I am super impressed by the quality of your prints! I've got an Ender 3 too, but in the 2 years I have it now, I was never able to archive such a print quality - could you may tell me what slicer you are using? Thanks a lot and have a great day! ~ Robert
Even your fails are satisfying to watch! Do you not use the Spaghetti Detective plugin for Octoprint btw?
So much pain... Understand you...
Was printing a Voronoi vase, and after 20h figured out that overhangs are awful. Print head broke away some parts of the print.
yikes! pro tip for voronoi vases scale them on the z axis non uniformly to reduce overhang angles! ;)
It's so cool how the fibers materialize like that
Okay so, i got a 3D printer for Christmas yk and i tried making a dumpling 🥟 like the round ones and i left it for 5H and i wake up to NO DUMPLING all i see is a round flat circle and a big thick smear on top. I thought i would die bc my father got that for me- but luckily, its fixed now and I’m making a “mooncity” it takes 22H and yeah it’s halfway done and here are some facts ig.
“Is it safe to leave a 3D printer overnight?” Yes, it is possible depending on how big the item or file is, some files don’t work from some webs, and depending on your printer kind. I do have a “AnyCubic MEGA X” and actually my father got me a pro but someone gave us a MEGA X, well someone got fired ;-; and trust me you should get a 3D printer like you don’t even have to pay for the crap you make, plus it helps you to be patient. I mean I’ve sat right next to my 3D printer for five hours I’m not joking, just to make a fox.
This hurt us all ... :(
Successes !!! ... and ... Thanks for sharing :) :) :) :)
:) thanks for watching
i like how it has no failure detection and proceeds to create vermicelli noodle dish.
Nah the printers just giving the creations a dope hairstyle
I love these vids please keep them up. Can you print on the Artillary sidewinder x1 if you have one?
Yeah! I just received the latest x1 and I’ll have a bunch of content for that shortly!
I admire how good is yours video edition, and of course the slicer profile in all yours printers, so clean and perfect, please share a video how test the accuracy of a print, best regards from Argentina
I've had a few prints fail on me, but I've never had one break
Very good
THE SECOND ONE GOT ME
This is really cruel to watch 😭
sorry!
The tentacle monster comes for us all
How do this situations apear ?
Hardware fail ?outside factors (heat/wind)?
Error in the program ?
All my prints fail, I can't get anything to stick to the buildplate, etc. So frustrating.
I don't know very much about 3d printing so can you please explain why these fails happened?
This hurts to watch 😢
Although it's a shame your prints failed, I've gotta say it's a relief to us mere mortals that masters have it happen to them too😆😆
The first one tho be like Uraraka when she be out of money lol
I dont own a printer, but dang this hurts.
Medication against depression for 3D printer
What makes watching this video even more painful is knowing that a hefty portion of the time on these prints is all dedicated to the timelapse itself, moving the print head out of the way. Big woof.
I have had only one fail so far but I know I'm going to have more.
Very lucky! Fails are becoming less common as the tech evolves! Happy printing :)
0:26 Hey you are from Wham Bam Tesla Cam? haha
Cool Vid as always, could you please also provide the links to the failed print files as you did with the successfull ones?
What is the price of the 3D printer that you brought
Yeah, I work as a CNC programmer and people also think it's simple, you just draw something and machine will magially do it, I guess it's not that simple even with 3D printers and people who program that have to think about that more than just to draw 3D model and click on print. 😀 I am thinking about buying some 3D printer, is it possible to send these fails back to filament manufacturers to recycle it or you just throw it away?
The best of Italian food! 😋😋😋
I have used Octopi to control my 3D printer. How do you like Timelapse? I use the other time lapse, but it does not home the head on each level. Do you see that reducing the quality of the print of the layers? Why do you feel some of the larger items failed at the bottom and snapped off? Head collision?
Yeah head collision from slight overextrusion! yeah octolapse diminishes print quality due to the long retractions.
Hello it's awesome, sorry what camera do you use in the octolapse, congratulations on your work
The good news is: The Spool of filament is now much longer. The bad news is it has horrible wrinkles and a lower diameter.
Supports my dudes, use 'em.
Today I had my first spaghetti monster in a long while. Just in time for this video.
I'm curious. Is it possible to recycle failed printer builds?
I think so cause it could be melted back?
1:00
I don’t get it, what was wrong with this one?
Cause of failure: the 3D printer eats too much spaghetti
A life was like a 3D printer
I don’t have 3D printer
I didn't know it could go wrong like that, what is the cause of those malfunctions? And what do you do with the failed pieces? Can you remelt them ?
That’s why we need build plate adhesion.
im happy to find out that im not the only one that prints spagetti sometimes
I printed a mega lego mug and the base plate chain broke:( now i have a bad looping lego mug
Don’t you love when something doesn’t stick to the print bed properly.
Could this be the forbidden spaghetti?
i felt that last one haha
What causes the random “growths” on the orange vase at 1:46? Having the same issue and can’t figure out the cause
I enjoy these but surely the 3d printer manufacturers can add some sort of sensor to see if its failed to stop spunking out wasted filiment
This hurt my heart lol I've been there.
Were these all from the same printer though?
I love how as soon as it gets bent it's just like h a i r
Even the fails look great what slicer do you use
Hey I have no idea what's going wrong in here any explanations for why this happened??
the spaghetti detective can help, the app will scan a fail and then stop the print automatically.
if your lucky enough your fail can be a piece of art thats impossible to 3d print!
You can make internal structure.
How long does it take to make one thing from a 3d printer
I am curious what the one at 3:14 was supposed to be. Well, before it completely fell apart into filaments.
I am a bit curious of what kind of camera you are using.
💀 = man im dead
I'm thinking about getting into 3d printing is their anything u can do when a print fails or do u just have to start again and accept the loss?
yea but, how we can reuse this filament?
@David Chen YES! such a good video from Devon!
Hi, great video.
Thanks for sharing.
What do you do after each fail? Do you change any settings and try again?
Thanks
Some of these i can lean back and internet expertly go "oh yeah that's what happens when you don't use a support structure"
But man, I'm really just trying to cope with the raging pain these fails can give you
Just hours into the print one tiny thing
Please design the anatomy of the body with SolidWorks...tankyou😘😘😘😘😘
2:00 it looks like an egg yolk was thrown off by the table
Have you never had your complete hot end covered in filament?
Why? 😭
Its still satisfactory
thanks Simon!
1:05 what model is this? It looks awesome
I just had my last one do this. 5hrs into the print and it randomly did this. Very annoying
What's the reason for fail? Is it design or printer itself?
