I had a friend that was somewhat of an egocentric, megalomaniac. He had a live-in girlfriend for many years. So, when cell phones became affordable, he decided to get one. If it were me? I would have bought it for the girlfriend so that I would know she was safe, in case she broke down along a lonely highway or needed it for some other emergency. But my egotistical friend? No way. He bought it for HIMSELF. Big, masculine, tough guy that thought the world of himself.
My advice is: feel good wherever you go, listen to the music that motivates you, wear your favorite clothes everyday, just be yourself and have fun and make friends with everyone you meet, never avoid eye contact, try to make jokes with colleagues at work, even with the ones that you don't usually meet, be always nice to your family and pets. That will increase your confidence 1000%. Give also genuine compliments to the people you like: tell a female friend she looks great, tell a male friend he is awesome at his favorite hobby, tell your boss you respect their work.

Here’s a very good tip a wiser man than me told me once. If you chat to women you’ve never met before, like in a bar, it’s very important to make sure you leave the conversation and walk away FIRST and not her but say something like nice talking to you next time I see you I ll buy you a drink, very casually. Then 2 things will have happened, first she’ll see that she wasn’t in control of the conversation, situation but you were. And secondly you won’t have come across as either needy or predatory, which she ll like because you didn’t try and hit on her. Chances are the next time if she sees you she ll feel much more comfortable approaching you as a result. This really does work.
Another strategy that is more lazy that I use, is to talk to all the women around you that come near you by just making small talk and it can just be useless stuff like.. "Oh you drink angry orchard... I can't believe it.. [some stupid shit here]" . Each woman you talk small talk with, the one that was interested in you may actually walk up to you because she will notice you've talked to multiple women and she doesn't want to lose the chance to talk with you.

But yeah, now I get it! Duh. It was right there in front of me the whole time. Butterflies? Now that I'm single I stuck with that same attitude I had when I was married and it works very well. That "I don't care how this conversation turns out" feeling attracts women. I've tried explaining this to other men and they all claim they do this. Then I probe a little more and it becomes obvious that they still don't have any real confidence inside, so they're not really doing it at all. Then when I explain this, they dismiss me and continue being alone and miserable. Some people just refuse to believe they're still doing it wrong.

I built up my self confidence learning to accept who I was and trying to work with what life gave me. If you chat to women you’ve never met before, like in a bar, it’s very important to make sure you leave the conversation and walk away FIRST and not her but say something like nice talking to you next time I see you I ll buy you a drink, very casually. Then 2 things will have happened, first she’ll see that she wasn’t in control of the conversation, situation but you were. And secondly you won’t have come across as either needy or predatory, which she ll like because you didn’t try and hit on her. Chances are the next time if she sees you she ll feel much more comfortable approaching you as a result.

Another strategy that is more lazy that I use, is to talk to all the women around you that come near you by just making small talk and it can just be useless stuff like.. "Oh you drink angry orchard... I can't believe it.. [some stupid shit here]" . I realized this when I was married and stopped giving a crap about how I came off to anybody because I was already married. I didn't need to attract women. when you approach, be simple and sincere with your attempt, little smile and a quick look down and up then away as you listen when you expect a reply. always think as if you know them already for better delivery and try to side/not face the person, as you advance in talking to give a body language sign that you offer space for surrounding check (adrenalin goes back to normal) and things still comfortable , for a further smooth push.
Today I was at the supermarket and I talked to a friend of mine in a very weird accent for the whole time, and didn't gave a " ... " what others thought about this! It felt so good!!
Learning that 90% of the equation is your vibe was a game changer for me. No more social anxiety trying to think of what to say next, not being in the moment listening and processing what they are saying (because you're struggling to come up with the next topic)....just maintaining and focusing on having a relaxed, chill energy (with a few jokes/teases thrown in) is the key. It's amazing how this simple shift in focus has allowed my brain to do the work for me...I never struggle with what to say now or experience pregnant pauses -- it's so natural now. If you can somehow facilitate this "mental click" change, you're on your way fellas.
