Zephii MSP It baffles me that I've only recently realized this. It's so obvious, like a lot of other things in life. "Be yourself and you'll be happier", that's not just a cliche. It's thrown around everywhere because it's so simple and true. Make something of yourself and you'll gain confidence and respect from others.

The Ferrari comparison really hit home, because when I was young, I was a 4 cylinder economy car for sure. I was small, skinny, weak, shy, insecure etc. In college, I became determined to become that Ferrari and started a years long journey that saw me packing on 60 pounds of muscle and achieving a superhero physique, transformed my persona and attitude into a guy who was strong, confident, charismatic and outgoing, and eventually became that Ferrari.
But despite doing that, I still failed to get interest from the women I was interested in and saw no positive affect on my career or anything else.
In the end, it became a source of massive depression for me. Because when I was that 4 cylinder car, I at least understood why I got such poor results. But after becoming a Ferrari and going out for years, getting no results, it broke me, as I couldn't understand how it was possible to still fail after making such a transformation.

Yep. The anxiety builds a wall between me and the girl and if I force to break it, it becomes worse. The quick solution is called MDMA but you can't use it often. The permanent solution is called EMDR therapy but it takes time (and money). I strongly recommend EMDR. Much better than CBT and SSRI drugs. Personal opinion.

Honestly focus on your own shit and don't ever chase girls! Sooner or later one of the smarter girls will realize what you are up to and come to you. And those are the ones you want anyway. True confidence is not something you can fake. Its something you earn for yourself through adversity and having the courage to back yourself. But once you get the love of a beautiful confident girl it doubles up. Just remember most of us are lost in this life at one point or another. Do not be so hard on each other. How about becoming actually confident? Women who are attracted to men who only "appear" confident have something messed up going on about themselves. Probably low self esteem combined with other baggage. On the other hand, high self esteem girls/women will only be attracted to guys/men who are truly confident.
In any case, I learned this the hard way, and I guess many people will have to go through the same. If you are a fraud, who only appears to be confident but is brittle on the inside, you might attract gorgeous women, but after a while they find out who you really are. Women have an exceptional sense of smell for "fake confidence". Your true self will eventually shine through and you will end up on square one again :)

I think you'd be surprised because when you fake confidence (or anything for the matter) for a little long while you will eventually become confident. It's just a way to trick your mind. Besides, you can never be really confident on everything, there's always large uncertainty in all stuff.
The need to impress women is stronger than the need to impress men that is why women in general are less confident. There is a girl I like who is more confident than me and I’m pretty sure she likes me too and I wasn’t that confident to begin with but I’m just saying anyone is attracted to confidence and depending on the person you are it makes you more confident in return. I am more confident now because of her and other factors that followed. Life is brutal.
