    Great video! Have been putting off adding it to the new home base until I knew for sure what additional benefits it would give me.

    The anti theft detection feature which triggers the alarm on the camera itself & the homebase is kind of important to me as I've had a camera taken before (thats $300 AU stolen as i see it, so they can add it to their own Eufy security system) though at that time the alarm was only sounded on the camera itself & not the Homebase too, something I let Eufy know about. As this thing doesn't have anti theft detection, be sure to mount it nice & high & in a corner some place where people can't approach from behind it while also ensuring its placed somewhere it gets enough sunlight to power it. Best practice is to have one of your other cams (which does have anti theft detection) covering the area around this camera if where its location needs to be mounted for direct sunlight is not ideal anti theft wise.

    How would the homebase 3 and camera work in a unit with brick walls

    Hi Scott, great explanations.
    I’ve got the original home base and doorbell camera. Wanting to add 2 cameras that are compatible. Or upgrade to home base 3? Eufy is frustrating by making homebase upgrades incompatible.ugh. 9:31

    Hi Scott, I love the review. I have a Home Base 2, which has S220 SoloCam as a selectable camera. Does this mean S220 SoloCam is now compatible with a Home Base 2? I would love to know if you or anyone of your fan base have tested.

    Hey Scott, great videos and amazing quality. I'm planning to buy my first camera set up, so I'm a total newbie. I'm ready to prioritize quality over getting a new camera in 3 years. I'm not sure if the new bundle from Eufy with the Homebase 3 and 2 solar cameras might be excessive for me. What would you suggest to a friend? Excellent job. Thanks in advance.

      The Eufy bundle was originally recommended to me by a friend and was the first ‘real’ system after having a couple of indoor nest cams. I’ve never regretted or looked back and as you see, still using them today.

    I have this camera and it goes offline a lot . I’m not very tech savvy can you give me some clues as to why? Thanks

      @@Debbyg64 my one of these doesn’t intermittently and it’s because of the distance form the Homebase for me. It’s slightly on the edge limit. I could move my HB more centrally but I’m too lazy to run the cable to do so :-)

      I’ve read reviews not to use SSD drives as they will die quicker. Your best bet is a Seagate 2.5” 5TB Barracuda 5400rpm Drive. You don’t need a SSD as the HomeBase 3 doesn’t require fast speeds to playback recorded videos!

    Have a weird problem with this camera - it will livestream when it's connected directly to the router but not whne it's connected to my HomeBase 3. It connects fine, the system tells me it's connected, I can see and change all the settings, it establishes the connection and then "Preparing to Play" cycles and never livestreams. Firmware is updated, battery is charged, etc, etc, etc.
    Anybody got an idea?

    • @923EON
      @923EON 2 месяца назад

      I think this is because it doesn’t support RTSP (Real Time Streaming Protocol) meaning it is only good for letting it record events then playback.

      @@SmetSfsc you can indeed either by using the same Eufy account for the app or by sharing the camera with another user.

      No it means you can stream the feed to a NAS for recording. It doesn’t affect your ability to view and manage the camera from home or work 😀

    One important point that i recently discovered. If you opt to connect to HB3 instead of Wifi you can certainly use the HB3 for storage of video clips. However unless you live in a garden shed the wifi extender in the HB3 is poor. The advice from Eufy to to reposition the HB3 but this is not practical as moving the HB3 closer to one camera probably means you are moving it further away from another. If you opt to connect your S220 camera to your existing Wifi / Mesh the you will receive much better signal strenght but you now cant use the HB3 for storage even if its on the same network. WTF???. This is poor design by Eufy and means that using the S220 with the HB3 is very limited unless your house has no external walls..lol

      Eufy just sent this: "The eufy S220 SoloCam can connect to the eufy HomeBase 3 as long as they are on the same local area network (LAN). This means that even if the cameras are connected through Wi-Fi extenders, as long as they are part of the same network as the HomeBase 3, they should be able to communicate with each other."
