This is really one of the best videos out there on trigger control. Since the "touch index" or "soft prep" is the middle ground between "prepping" and "slapping," I think that it's the method that makes the most sense for most types of handgun shooting, especially practical shooting and defensive shooting, and therefore should be prioritized in training over the other methods. Ben Stoeger really sold me on running the trigger this way, and with the right amount of practice (dry fire, dry fire, dry fire!), you can be extremely accurate with it out to fifty yards by more slowing rolling through the trigger (almost like a DA trigger). And it's a surefire way (with or without a SureFire light attached!) to mitigate trigger freeze!
11 years of shooting, and I will always watch videos like this. Doesn't matter if I understand what is being taught, hearing it a different way is still valuable, and maybe I find something new that helps with my shooting and makes me a better teacher.
This content is fantastic. The reason why when I was looking for a new OWB holster last night, I thought of Tier 1. Thanks for the excellent instruction.
Great video! At the 12:20 mark you talk about the low left hit being attributed to a grip that was weighted too heavily towards the strong hand. How do you differentiate the error of this unbalanced grip from the error of poor trigger discipline (not isolating movement of trigger finger from grip fingers)?
This is really exceptional content. I just finished teaching several multi-day pistol classes and this video would have been the perfect summary of like 75% of the curriculum. I don’t think this could have been any better presented. Thanks for putting it together.
Thanks for the Easter egg code guys! Love my holsters! Keep them coming! We appreciate you! Appreciate the videos. Billy Barton’s saying is spot on! These are all great tips from Jared!
What’s your Zero preference for edc self defensive. I don’t think you mentioned that or I may have not paid attention. I just think that’s very important knowing your hold for the folks that don’t know what hold is. Also my APX will be delivered in 2 day waaaahoo ! Thx 👍🏻🇺🇸
I am not as accurate at 25yd so I go 15yd. Get it close at a closer range then go to 15 or 25 to set elevation otherwise you will be high poi if you zero at too short a distance. Check out ballistic charts… I settled on 15yd
I follow you and watch most of your content. Being a video for beginner shooters, the comment, "Today I am going to be using a gen 5 34..." means absolutely nothing to a large portion of your watchers. You show the gun and new shoters can't tell can't tell the difference between a Glock and a 1911. Either give the novice more info or less.

Hey, can I ask anyone a question please? I'm very good with iron sights, but learning about red dots. I was told that dots are basically to get your bullet in the area of what you're aiming at, not pin point like a rifle scope would be. Is that true?
That is 100% not true, pistol red dots are just as accurate if not easier to be accurate with than irons. Pistol red dots have the ability to be smaller (vs your target) than iron sights. Yes, there are bigger red dots and smaller iron sights, but your common red dot is going to be smaller than your everyday common iron sights on any given pistol. The thing to realize is you must be focused on the target for a red dot, when some people start to try and shoot red dots accurately, they start to focus on the dot too much. If you have the means, get one and give it a shot! Totally worth it.
@maerica76 Got it, thank you very much. I stopped carrying my guns with dots cause I think I was doing what you said which had me hitting too low on my target. Ima start carrying them again and try what you said next range day. Thank you for this bro...

Great drills to work on! Haven’t seen that one where you slap trigger with a good grip and see what the results are.

Yes, trust those with severe sun burn on their ears. Those are the experts.

On those right no shoots. Taking a C hit is way acceptable for HF scoring.
THat ultimately depends on the avaliable stage points. ON a lower rd count/ hf stage eating Charlies for sake of speed is not going to pan out
If you took Ben Stoegers class you could get better.
