    One thing you need to remember is leave all components loose, you never tighten any of the components until you have the weight of the car on the ground. Thats what sets your suspension correctly. The other reason you may have had an issue installing the control are is the mounting plate the arm/bushing end sits in can be squeezed/slightly bent together making it a tight fit. Its easier to straighten the mount than it is to grind and ruin the bushing sleeve.

    You can also freeZe the bushings to make them smaller and fit in easier. When they warm up they will yo original size

    There great. I have put them on 6th, 7th and 8th gen. Never a single issue however if your not tool orientated you will have nothing but problems so be sure someone with experience helps you if your not that good at tooling

    Great video. My 2007 civic just has the squeaking sound form the rear side(when have the rear passenger then no squeaking sound found). Do you think is this cause by the old bushing? Thx

    If I were to look specifically for the rear upper camber bushings, what size or type of bushing might those be and where could I find them? Bought an aftermarket camber kit and the bushings already dies 2 months later.

  • @thebigchungus3222
    @thebigchungus3222 5 лет назад +2

    Dude why would you by a kit that is specifically is make your suspension tighter and be stiffer than oem and then not be happy with how stiff it is? Like that's an actual question was is just so ridiculously bad or just not how you would like it

  • @Smngorin

    I was curious about the rear trailing arm bushings, to bad you didn’t replace them. I have 165k miles on mine and plan to track it.
    Do you know how to remove the rear arm bushing? And do use re use the piece that attaches to the chassis in the rear?
    Please let me know if you know. Thanks

      RTABs are easy on this car. I checked mine and they were fine at 110k miles... Unbolt caliper, shock, upper suspension link and spring, and you can unbolt the trailing arm from the rear subframe, its pickup point on the knuckle and the front point on the chassis. Takes about 30 minutes.

      FYI, do not recommend polyurethane in the RTABs, for the same reasons as I took them out of the front compliance bushing: binding. Poly is no bueno on a multi-axis suspension component.

    • @Smngorin
      @Smngorin 5 лет назад

      Thanks so much Jake, im glad i found you because my plan was to get polyurethane for my 8th gen civic si. Maybe should look at the ktune ones that are harder rubber and still oem geometry.

    Just did front suspension bushing kit instal on 2003 rxs s. Wow! Was it worth ? Hell yes! Rides handles steers better than new. This guys video confusing to me. First of all this job is lot work. Time consuming as hell ! Repeat lot work dirty time consuming as hell. Almost scared to attempt rear suspension as it is lot work. Will it be worth it when done? I'd say yes. Why is this video confusing to me? Because hard part this job taking everything apart. Why not put bushings in so you can say whether the upgrade is worth it..

    • @DriveBreakFixRepeat

      Suspension binding. Poly in the front compliance bushing made the front end do weird things at the limit.

    • @ryanl8340
      @ryanl8340 2 года назад +1

      Never had an issue with mine and I put over 100k on them. Also curious why you didn't do the rear. The rear is most important IMO since those bushings need to twist inside the knuckles and arms (they may "look" good but, but they are binding up on you as the suspension moves and you're just twisting the rubber man). Furthermore, I'll bet my left nut that you couldn't adjust the rear tow with the factory bushing in there. For rear tow adjustment, that particular bushing surrounding the cam bolt needs to twist in order to adjust it. From the factory, the rear tow is around - 3° which is horrible for a FWD car as it promotes understeer. And you said you tracked with this car? Best to just zero it out for more neutral handling. Not to ramble on too much but some of your techniques were too clinical. I had much better results burning and/or cutting out old bushings. And installing I didn't need a press either. Just got creative with things and you have to do them in the correct order. For instance you can't put the inner sleaves into the bushing until the bushings are set into the control arms first (you're going to struggle because there's not enough compliance on them to collapse).

    Did these on my Escort, rides rougher but the feel and handling are great.
    NVH makes me 50/50 wether it was a great idea. My swaybar links get rusty annually and need replaced or I literally feel them when bound up. Sounds crazy I know.
    Just wanted to see how it goes on a Honda.
