Im so happy to see you working on your car again we all missed you bro! you are one of my biggest inspirations when I wanted a prelude and now i got one lol. love your prelude and videos and hope the passenger side bushings go smoother than the driver side ones lol.
Finally a video on the subject that you actually know what you’re talking about and you have the right press tool. I have watched 4 straight videos on this topic and all of them just drove the nut down on dry bushings completely distorting them and I guarantee they were noisy as h*** within a few weeks and they were back to do it all over again and hopefully they actually did some research. Someone should be overseeing these videos before people start following bad advice
Thanks bro! Yes, sometimes I consider buying two of everything so I can have it on hand when I need to replace it again in 20 years 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Ah man, its good to take a break sometime, we gotta keep up the grind!
Good to see you back. Those metal sleeves are a pain. I had to weld a cross bar in to be able to press them out of my arms. Also, I took the metal sleeves out of my uppers not thinking. Reinstalled them and hopefully the caster is correct. Definitely worth the time to replace. Now I need to figure out a roll center correction on the Type SH or convert to base sub frame and run the RSX roll center correction parts.
You're not lying! I'm stuck right now because I can't get the metal sleeves off the rear lower control arm. I had to order more tools -_- hahah Yeah, I've heard about the RSX roll center adjusters fitting but didn't know it was specific to base models. I guess its about time I raise the ride height to not have to worry about it 😂 I have another good reason as to why I "should" raise the ride height but that wont be announced until hopefully sooner than later :D
I did all my bushings. Mine must be an older style set, I didn't have the 3 pieces for mine, there's only 2 for mine. I've had mine in for little over 2 years and still haven't squeaked yet. Gonna take em all apart soon and refresh the grease. Looking good though bro
Yeah, I'm not sure why but my part number for this kit ends with an extra digit, which is the letter G. But on the ES website, all of the part numbers don't have the G at the end. Good to hear that the bushings have last you awhile now, how do you go about refreshing the grease? Are you gonna have to press the bushings back out?
@@Rawrkee yea usually I do, this is my 3rd set of energy bushings, I got a set in my lude, my mustang, and I had a set in my Civic. Sold the civic. My mustang I've done 2x already. They squeak alot. Lol but the grease is specific to the poly bushings, so not your normal grease as you know. It sucks but it's part of the maintenance man.
Welcome Back! Was wondering if you have ever considered adding JDI (Jordan Distributors Inc.) GhostLock? Its a peace of mind for Honda owners especially since you put blood sweat into your ride.
Thanks bro! I think it would be awesome try out, I'm sure a lot of ppl would be interested in it too but I'm heavily investing in another project 😆 Have you tried any of their products?
I just got finished installing a full poly bush kit on my 4WS 5th gen. It was a mission, I'm glad it's done but I don't want to ever have to do it again!
@@Rawrkee Just so you know, you should wrap some teflon/thread tape around the bushes as well as the silicone grease. It helps to stop the squeaking for much longer than just grease alone.
I recently found out that my prelude doesnt have sway bar end links, i dont even know how that is possible how both sides are missing. the car has insane body roll and i figured it was time to update my suspension since the body does have over 300 000 km (180 000 miles) on it.
No way!? are they just missing in the front? The rears also have endlinks too 😬 I ended up replacing all 4 as well. Did you also use Energy Suspension too??
@@Rawrkee to be honest I havent checked the back yet, but I didn't buy anything for the suspension yet. I have an oil leak which is my main focus right now
Yes, thanks for the reminder! This is probably the reason why my bushings went bad in the first place because when I installed coilovers years ago, I didn't preload the suspension /)_-
@@Rawrkee To make it easy just take a measurement from the center of the hub to the top of the fender. Then when you are ready to torque things down just jack that lower control arm until you reach the same height as if it were on the ground. Poly bushings don't have a long life like rubber bushings, they're good for stiffer connections and cheaper prices but that's about it imo.
Hey Rawrkee how did you get those lower control arms back onto the ball joints so easily? I could press them back on with the ball joint press but the Axel is in the way, especially for the sway bar. I believe I've got the ball joint almost completely on the lower control arm about 98% but I can't hold the press so straight due to the lack of space with the Axel in the way.
One e I get the LCA into the ball joint, I’ll jack up from underneath the LCA and it’ll put enough weight to make the ball joint sit flush so I can hand tighten the castle nut. Nah, you don’t need new ball joints unless you’ve verified there’s noise coming from them by rocking your wheels back and forth at the 12 and 6 o clock position. There should be little to no play if they’re good
Nah, my motor is still SH. It would’ve been a good idea to do the base swap but I was too impatient to source a base transmission 😬 plus I’d have to get some sort of adapter plate for the half shaft. You don’t need to do that if you just do a base longblock swap but I had rebuilt my SH engine and so i didn’t wanna toss it
I got the part number on the energy suspension website and found a good deal on Amazon. If you follow through with the job, it’s not fun at all hahah Make sure you have an impact gun
Mmm..yeah, I do one job two times all the time, hate it when it happens, especially when I want go to sleep and I need the car at the morning. But hey, it's still fun...
I think since you got a lot followers and can do the same car part replacement. Maybe faster next time. If you get 20 or 30 -100 customers line up for all the Honda prelude. You might quit your day job. Just only fixing the Honda prelude parts replacement. Will be a easily piece of cake. The old days you go to the meet up and passed out your business card to the same vehicle as yours. Make new friends. Now these days there are few meet ups. Because everyone is on their phone and living that loneliness entrepreneur stock market lottery advertisement online NFS car gaming lifestyle. Even the Tesla destroyed all the speed mod out there. Now people just modifications their wrap or spray paint and body mod vehicle with less speed. All for a car show purpose and muffler noise kit. I hope the old days come back where people exchange more ideas and help each other more in mechanical issue by the minutes. Instead hours like the online RUclips do it yourself college with few tools. Would be nice if one day there is a app that show a person in your city or state that need their car fix and you can narrow it down to your vehicle that you only can fix very well and just message them all. Great if we get more coupons code from your reviews and also help you out to bring more content. Not better than buying it full price at the website. Do what you do best and already know to better yourself and retired early.
Welcome back bro. Your positivity always brings me happiness. Looks like you've got your work cut out. Good luck sir.
Thanks bro! I'm glad you enjoy the content :D And yeah man, I'm struggling with the rear suspension right now but I'm almost done :D

Dude been waiting prelude or civic video !! The audio videos are ok but your touch is in the cars !!lol
Bro , I always look forward to your videos !! I was like when is this dude gonna push out a new prelude video !! LoL
Sorry for the wait, I've been wanting to vlog for awhile now but yeah, car vlogs def come more naturally to me than those tech reviews :D
Great timing Rocky, Im doing this job too now!
AH yeahhh!! Hows the job so far? I'm halfway through with the rear suspension and I'm stuck -_-
Glad you're back, bro! Don't have my Prelude anymore but I still love the vids.
Yea yea glad you back bro bro. Wit some prelude content. ❤
Yesssirrr, I'm pretty unmotivated to document doing the rear suspension. This job is no fun hahaha

Have you tried burning them out? I’m not sure that would work for the metal sleeves but may make it easier
