I own a 2008 civic dxg with rear drums , about 5 years ago I needed to change a driver side caliper , my friend had 2008 tsx in his garage, pulling motor/ trans .....the car was going to be scrapped after that , so I pulled the front calipers , rotors and pads that were practically new and slapped all of those on my car , the pedal is strong and car stops real hard , feels like a factory big brake kit , absolutely amazing.
Great video! I might do the same mod next month. The Si should have came with these calipers from the factory. Obviously it would have been nice to have a Brembo option from the factory/dealer as well.
I did the same accord rotor same as tsx but my same caliper the only thing you have to trim the bracket of calipers to clear the rotor work better cuz pedal stay the same
I’m looking forward to doing this. I just copped a set of used OEM TSX Nissin Calipers! I’m not a fan of StopTech red calipers. That color just screams RICER in my opinion. I prefer OEM. But I will be pairing them with Hawk Talon Rotors and HPS 5.0 pads.
@1:15 - kid you not, when i was stuck in traffic in SoCal on the 5 going home one day, I saw a Mini Cooper with rotors that looked like these. It was a girl driving it, and the car didn't look like a track car, just neglected. The look of these rotors is just horrifying. I just can't, loll!
Girls drive their cars super hard on the street. I'm always being tailgated by them. They will floor it towards red lights and stop at the last second and they do this consistently day in and day out. They have no clue what coasting means!
Hey I'm looking to do the same upgrade on my fa5 but I have a few questions. Those rotors you bought for the front, they would have to be a TSX spec rotor right? And you mentioned the TL master cylinder at the end, is there a specific gen/year of tl I'm looking for? I just want to be sure and make sure I do this the right way
@@activeej8858 no I haven't done anything yet cause of the stupid virus lol also I heard the rear tsx calipers are the same exact ones on the civic so it should fit, but I could be wrong
@@paulo..ferreira Yup everything worked fine. Calipers still holding up good without any issues. My wheels aren’t stock so can’t say for sure if they would fit on the original wheels. On 17x9 rpf1 right now.
Great video! have the same setup, except im tired of the soft pedal feel. Anyone ever upgrade to the TL S or TSX master cylinder? I've read different things online with no definitive answers as to which yr/part # to get
Thanks for this video, great info. just a small thing to point out, from the video description it says 2004 - 2009 TSX front, but in the video you mentioned 2004 - 2008. I am also planning to order the front brake kit from Rockauto, but I do have a few other questions, 1. Do you think SS brake-lines are worth the upgrade at the front? 2. On rockauto they now have Power Stop Slotted and Drilled rotors instead of the Slotted version only, which do you think will be better for daily driving? 3. I am planning to go with Power Stop Z26 brake pads, what do you think? Thank you.
Thanx for sharing. Just bought a 07 SI coupe and this will be first upgrade.
I did this upgrade to my 08 FA5 in 2015and it works great.
2 weeks ago i finally install the TL-S master cylinder and the upgrade is amazing!
which model year of the tl type s did you use?
Where did you u get the parts from?

Watchout for Brembo rotors! They have been known to squeak. Mine squeaked for months before I returned them
Bruh.. no comments yet.
Tough crowd.
Awesome video.
Hello from a 8th gen member.
Would this work on a non si model?
I believe the front suspension knuckles are the same/interchangeable, so if it works on Si, it should work on non-Si.

Will a 16” stock LX wheel fit over those calipers?
2010 Honda si what upgrade I can use at the rear brakes like callipers, rotas & pads

Will 16inch wheels fit on this caliper setup on 2007 civic coupe

Have you found out yet? Also do you know if the tsx back calipers will fit on my 8th gen also? Or should I just keep my old calipers on the back
@@activeej8858 no I haven't done anything yet cause of the stupid virus lol also I heard the rear tsx calipers are the same exact ones on the civic so it should fit, but I could be wrong
I'd say just keep your old calipers man, that's what I'm doing
@@fabledrebel3961 did it worked? Stock calipers had enough clearence? I am thinking about doing the same.

I moved to a Stoptech BBK, works great with the OEM master cylinder.
Braided brake lines should help with pedal feel
That was some dirty ass brake fluid lol. Good video though man.
Does it work on a 9th gen?
Good video, thanks for the info.
Do you think the civic si axle fit in tsx front knuckle ?
So do you need to change the rotors to the TSX rotors or can you slap the TSX brake calipers right onto civic si rotors?
I'd also like to know as I already have new StopTech rotors for my coupe. I should've looked around for easy upgrades before I bought the rotors.
Will these fit with stock wheels
Yes.
Will it fit factory 16” wheels?
My question also did you ever get answer to that ? Was going that route also

Good vid. I would've done a brembo mod. I wanna see the new track video.
