How Clean Is the Water at Some Las Vegas Pool Clubs?

- As summer approaches, pool party season swings into high gear, and that means some pools are packed with people. Inside Edition sent a team of producers to collect water samples at three of the most popular pool clubs in Las Vegas, Nevada, to see what was in the water. Debbie Doty has over two decades of experience cleaning pools, and she says it takes constant vigilance to keep pools like these free of potentially harmful bacteria.
allowing people to be in the pool while drinking, eating, smoking and so on, is disgusting, and you can never maintain a clean pool like that, did you really expect those pools to be clean with that many people and those behaviours?
drugs too, and "non-school appropriate things"
You only live once!!
Of course they didn't. Why would they pay ppl to investigate this story if they knew that all the pools were gonna be clean? They wanted a story & I'm glad they put this story out.
@@DoubleDash28 actually you only die once, you live plenty

I used to clean pools as a teen, and that water was so disgusting. Pool water is supposed to be clean and clear, look how foggy the pool looked. Too many bodies and so much urine that ate away the chlorine. They should’ve had multiple chlorine tabs in all the skimmers. Fun fact also 1 dog in a pool = a hundred people. Don’t believe me?! Take your dog for a swim and watch how dirty the water is afterwards.
daymn dickens, you're acting as if you have a grudge and resentment against the pools 💀💀

Exactly my problem with dogs besides the fact they're annoying and literally do nothing for the world unless they're being used for service. Worst part is people let them on the couch, lick thier face, ride in cars, go to grocery stores, etc... such a shame on humanity. Disgusting...

Many years ago I caught a skin fungus at the swimming of a luxury beach resort. It didn't put my life in danger or anything, but it looked pretty ugly. After many medications, special soaps and shampoos, expensive consultations with dermatologists, etc., someone recommended me a shampoo that made my hair look so horrible, but killed the fungus. It took me like a year and a half to get rid of it, and I have never entered a public pool since.
Same however I caught MRSA

I had the same thing that happened to me when I was a kid, I caught it from a beach. I was about 6 or 7 years old at the time, my doctor didn’t know what it was and I had to go this Portuguese doctor who only worked in Toronto 6 months out of the year

As someone who treats and test’s palatable water for cities and municipalities this is extremely disconcerting. Someone isn’t adding chemicals to the pool or cleaning…
So do you typically have your hand submerged along with the bottle when sampling? Probably not. Not saying the resorts don’t have a water quality issue but who knows how sanitary the samplers hands where when he sampled…. He could’ve literally just used the restroom prior to sampling and didn’t wash his hands.
@PaRaBeLLuM you're going there? Really?! Fair enough. The bottle exterior could've been contaminated, or if they wore gloves, them too. Lol. I do see your point
Also, there should be a limit of bodies allowed in the pool at any given time. Very disconcerting.

The real story is how you have to pay for water in over 100 degree heat, and people be drinking from the showers at these pool party places in LV… I went to a Chainsmokers pool party at the Wynn and OMG body to body doesn’t even begin to describe how packed it was. 3 people passed out from dehydration and over heating and were taken away in wheelchairs and one guy in a stretcher.

Pretty bad story. The potential for an infection occuring is basically everyday in your life. What do you think would happen of you tested every gas pump or dollar bill or bench. How do you expect to keep a pool pristine when you have 50 people in 2000 square feet. And of course the pool pump is continuous and constantly filtered. But it has to get to the filter. This is like someone testing you home water by testing you bath tub while you're in it and than saying "it's dirty".
exposed and i love it
@@hostileaks4495 I’d rather bathe in my own filth than bathe in water that 100 different strangers have been in.
@@hostileaks4495 just because life is full of hazards and risks of infection doesn't mean you should increase your risk by swimming in a public toilet.
@@nomus1172 no it's not. It's like the city coming in to test your plate as your eating off it and saying "this plate is not clean" or testing your towel after you get of of a shower and dry off and saying "this towel has bacteria". Why don't they test the water coming from the supply into the pool, you know, the water that has been thru the filter and then see what they find. Of course the water is dirty before it gets to the filter. This is why most pools ask you to shower before you go in, because you're a filthy mammal
I m from India. I always swim & cool off in running streams, ravines in nearby forests than dirty pools in theme parks.
I used to work as a lifeguard at a popular water park on the east coast. Water was usually crystal clear, but during peak season the filters could not keep up. From my top position I could not see knees in 5 foot deep pool. And if filtration system had a leakage it stenched as a concentrated urine. Oh, and poop in kids pool was not uncommon.
I was a pool operator and they only have to keep the chlorine levels at 1.5-3.5 ppm. it should be checked every hour or constantly monitored by an automated system. That doesn't mean jack when the water isn't circulating fast enough for the amount of people/biomass in the water. Use common sense, if the water is cloudy/full of people, don't put your head under and don't swim if you have any wounds, they will get infected. When fecal contamination happens (someone finds a turd) we evacuate the pool for just one hour and then let everyone back in 😬 have a good summer!
(Contact time is necessary for chlorine to work, depending on the pH and a number of other factors between 5-50 minutes is required to kill all the microbes after a contamination. That is why you see signs saying do not swim if you've had diarrhea recently, you might have fecal matter stuck to your butt that will silently contaminate the pool once submerged!)
Very complete information. 👍🏻
Mmmmm so I can drink the water yummy
Exactly why people need to shower BEFORE swimming...not just after. . 🧼🚿
