    Let it sit for a while before you cut it bro, that why when you cut it all the juiciness doesn't drain out.
    "The reason it needs to rest is because the juices need time to redistribute, otherwise it will just flow away, leaving you with a brown, overcooked piece of meat. Another important thing to know is the residual heat will continue to cook your steak after you've removed it from the grill or the pan."

      @@ONBLASTWITHMG I got this a while back, did not realize it had that air fryer feature, tried to do angus burger patties tonight, it took damn near 1 hour on 400 degrees. after 30min it was at 142 degrees, finally got around to 165 after an hour... have you had trouble with burgers before? I'm scared to do steak now after this experience with the burgers.

    • @ONBLASTWITHMG
      @ONBLASTWITHMG  3 года назад +2

      You know, something is fishy there. 1 hour on the airfry mode on 400 degrees will turn those burgers to charcoal. Were you on the airfry mode? For example, a full tray of bacon takes 8 minutes on airfry mode at 400. That steak i made took 25 I believe on airfry mode.

    Thanks for posting this!! We have the same model or the XL version. Our air fry setting will go higher than the 400*. Still we followed your instructions and did 400 for 25 minutes and the two ribeyes we made for dinner turned out great! I came across your video when doing a search for how to do the steaks in the air fryer. I don't know about you, but whenever we have done any meat, it gets kinda smokey in the kitchen. Good instructional video.

      Hi David, glad they came out good. Some people frown upon making steak this way but I say why thw heck not! Yes, the smoke is a design flaw of this unit. People have tried a variety of ways such as lining the tray with foil but the most effective is to add another tray to catch the drippings the tray that came with the unit for baking. I've learned to just live with it as if you add the extra tray you loose some cooking ability. Anyway, enjoy.

Some of the recipes I've changed a little to improve the taste. For instance, for french fries which call for no oil, I spray them with olive oil and season them with salt and pepper. They come out great! It makes the best toast I have ever eaten. The recipe I use calls for lightly buttering both sides of the bread. It calls for cooking at 400 degrees for 5 minutes on one side and then 2 minutes on the other side. This time has a lot to do with the kind of bread you are using...so keep an eye on it. Also, the fans in this Ninja are a lot stronger than other air fryers. So lay a metal spoon or something on the bread to keep it from flying around. It's a little extra work to use your Ninja as a toaster but it is worth it!
