- In our search for the best national park in Sri Lanka, we explore the Kumana National park located on the east coast of Sri Lanka near the popular surf town of Arugam Bay

Kumana National Park, also known as Yala East National Park, is a prominent wildlife reserve located in the southeastern region of Sri Lanka. It is situated in the Ampara District and is adjacent to the better-known Yala National Park.❤

Is the walking easy? I have a bad knee and can't walk up or down steep hills.
The walking was not too difficult. probably less than a 1km walk from the Jeep to each cave. best check with your guide before attempting though.

The biggest drawback visiting Sri Lanka is food problem for Pure Veg where ever you go the non veg are served along and it becomes difficult for the vegetarians like us to enjoy holiday with out good food if solution for this can be worked out then Sri Lanka would be a greatest destination for holiday

Sad 😢to see the destruction of one of the best parks in Sri Lanka. There is evidence of jungle clearance n hordes of jeeps whose drivers are a law on to themselves. Thank you for single handedly trying to project a positive view on a sorry state of affairs.
Kumana is honestly in a much better state than the Yala National park. there are lots of amazing folks doing great work to protect preserve and create awareness. we are happy to do our part.
