Great reaction! I remember Roger saying that when the vocals were found again, it was very moving like finding moving pictures of your parents who had passed away a long time ago. And how the vocals were so fresh it seemed like Freddie had recorded it that morning. And how happy it made him to hear Freddie's voice again.
Originating from sessions for the band's 1984 album The Works, "Let Me In Your Heart Again" was written by May and originally recorded in Los Angeles in 1983. It was intended for The Works but was not finished until 2014, when it was released on the compilation Queen Forever.
Will you please do ‘ I Want It All’ video and Freddie’s 39th costume birthday party- ‘Living on My Own’. It’s Freddie singing solo-sooo hedonistic- so crazy great! I don’t know if you’ve heard Freddie do scat- over the top - it’s fast and furious- thank you David- this is one of my favs! Again- you did an amazing job/ catching the prime vocals of Freddie!
Totally agree!! Freddie's voice got better as he got older. Best singer in the world, all natural God given talent, not even voice trained! Amazing when you think about it.
Fun fact this song from the band Queen Let Me In Your Heart again it's going to release in the works album 1984 but it's never been release until 2014 from the compilation album Queen Forever
David have you done ‘I Want It All’? The video? Freddie’s voice!! Man! You can see he’s sick but he is absolutely the best! Having the cancerous sores and HIV/ he was in a tie and long sleeve shirt- but David- just as powerful!! Could you please consider the video and also Freddie’s video- ‘ Living on My Own’? It’s Freddie singing alone and it’s his wild 39th birthday party! Costume party- Brian showed up as a witch- Freddie as a military man in Jacket and ballet tights!😜🔥. The most hedonistic video- He scats- the scatting is frickin awesome!!
Yup! Freddie moves the music- drills it into your soul-- and damn- Freddie - hot on these clips! Don’t tell my grandkids!👅 Please you don’t have to apologize for stopping- I’ve gotten quite dependent on your critique!! Be well David-💛💛🔥
Freddie's phrasings sets him apart in my opinion. Other singers may have more technique because they've been formally trained, and Freddie was self taught, but he was always so creative both in the studio and live; it makes the songs more interesting. He doesn't just repeat the same phrasing every time, instead he makes each line interesting. I think it's time for Living In My Own, David! The original version. It's fun, you're gonna laugh a lot and the song is catchy
I'm still hoping for Staying Power live at the Bowl 1982! I miss Freddie 🥺 but one thing I do love about him is how he can change his ENTIRE facial look by just drawing his eyebrows together. Beautiful! Great reaction as always!
Hurray David! 💟 I turn into a glob of goo watching this video of our beloved Queen! Roger - “Let Me In Your Heart Again is absolutely typical mid-period Queen … When I put the original tape on, it was so astonishingly real, like it had been recorded that morning. I got quite emotional about the way Freddie was doing his thing. It’s like suddenly coming across recordings of your parents after they’re gone. And then it turns into something rather joyful.”
I had to watch that twice cos first time round, I couldn't concentrate because Freddie kept staring straight into my soul! He's using vocal runs and riffs, and blooming heck he does it so well! Loads of Jackems but hardly surprising! Great reaction! 👏👏👏
This is definitely one of my many favorites!!🎶🖤🎼 I was listening to an old Queen interview and Freddie spoke about how they would come up with 30 songs and then take the gruelling task of narrowing them down to 10 for an album. Some very good songs were left on the cutting floor!💖💖💖
Thank you for doing this one David. Freddies vocals knew no bounds. Agree it didn't age. What a shame we didn't get to hear it for many more years. I suspect it would have remained the juggernaut it always was for another 20 years at least. Definitely an anomoly. Just dropping another hint again here. Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy and Jealousy please. Oh yes and Play the Game (live) Great reaction as always hun.
I think it has changed some, I think it changed when he started smoking. That gorgeous raspy voice happened with his smoking, in my opinion. BTW I love this song it is amazing.
This was initially an unreleased track that was originally sung by Anita Dobson. The band edited Freddie's recording and released it on the Forever album in 2014. The original recording was from around 1984 (The Works album) I think.
WOW David !! Was leaving the house and saw you have a new reaction up so of course I had to watch it and now I’m late 😂. I laughed every time you apologized for stopping the video . You’re the best and the only one who should be allowed to stop Queen whenever and wherever you want👍😂♥️ Thanks for another fantastic reaction !!!
Another great reaction!! This was really a hidden gem until 2014. Fans like me were sooo happy when this came out. 👑 I would like to recommend a ton of stuff, but for this time especially this 2019 track from Roger Taylor (solo) called 'Gangster Are Running This World (Purple version)'... I think you'd love it and do some 'JackThatBacks's'! 😃 Cheers 🥂
Well. Listening since 1992 (and before without knowing it) and I didn't know this existed. Guess that's what happens when you stop listening to music for 10+ years and just get busy with life. So glad you reacted and I got to see/hear it for the first time too. Excellent song and video. Wow. 'The Hero' and 'White Christmas' as soon as you're settled :) Thanks for another great one!
Typical Queen expect the unexpected in the majority of their work .You`ll always find something new each time you listen to a song. Great reaction thanks
What I love about Queen videos when they put clips into songs (either pre or post Freddie's death) they do a great job of finding just the right clip for the moment. If you didn't know better you'd think (sometimes) that it was actually being sung during that clip. This one especially I liked as it used ones that aren't usually seen. OK now you just said basically the same thing I did here :) I was writing this as I was watching.

Please read this May revealed that the band had found it impossible to complete the track, despite several versions of the lyrics being written to make it easier for Mercury to sing. They eventually abandoned the song. The one with Anita singing it has different words.
I believe this song was left off the Works album because it had a similar chord structure to Hammer To Fall and Hammer To Fall was deemed to fit the album better.
We all have Queen songs we love and the odd few that we don't love as much. This one falls in the second category for me. Yes there are great vocal guitar bass and subtle percussion moments but for me the mix doesn't gel together smoothly. It's about the only Queen song I have difficulty in making out the words Freddie's singing. Still a great song though and I love the reaction, The more JackThatBack! The better!
David, you are clearly we'll meaning, though, Freddie's voice clearly changed over the years. I'm not musically trained, though grew up in a house of professional musicians, so know some stuff from that + Brian & Roger have both spoken about Freddie's voice got thinner. Sorry to have to say this, though I'd you think his voice didn't change, it does prompt thoughts of how knowledgeable you actually are?
I think the thinness the guys hear is toward the very end. I cry my eyes out just thinking about how hard it was to watch such a friend and talent be so sick. I hate that damn disease, so many deaths.
