- In 2022 on my thru-hike from Mexico to Canada on the Continental Divide Trail, fires were a prevalent topic, as they are out west during many summers. In the spring and early summer of 2022, New Mexico was facing historical drought, and the resources the state had to dedicate to its 9 million+ acres of national forest were scarce. A string of fire encounters ultimately culminated in my group and I walking through an active forest fire, this video is the story of what happened.

Great video - thanks for sharing.
