Don’t be hard on yourself. As you said, we’re learning together and we appreciate you. 🙂
As the crystal grows the consentrate of chemical deminishes , so if you add at the same level of adp when you started the white could be because of higher consentrate. Most people who grow crystals remove the crytals and then calculate how much has evaporated and only add that amount and then re add the crystal . This might be the reason why it is white as the consentrate is higher at that point
Julie, I just love watching you. You are delightful as everyone states, but I like how you are not embarrassed to share the learning curve with all of us, no matter what project you are doing. Thank you for sharing. 😊
I like the way both of them have grown Julie, they are beautiful. I am really enjoying the Crystal growing series ❤
Hi Julie I just love the crystal tutorials and I'm looking forward to seeing how far you can take it with growing them and I hope that if you get tired of doing them you will come up with different ways of incorporating them into your work . I hope you keep doing them for a while as there's not much around that gives so much information as you do . Keep up the good work you clever girl.
I enjoy your videos so much, not just for your creations but because you sound so happy, bubbly and excited. It's infectious. God bless.
Love your videos. So glad I'm not the only one who jumps around from craft to craft. Like you I get bored.
Thanks love your channel 👍❤️🙏 Ann from Cairns 🇦🇺
I too am enjoying the crystals. I look forward to your videos all the time, hopefully daily. And I don't want to illicit any boos...but I do miss the resin videos. I'm sorry, but I do. A few sprinkled in between would be awesome!
I love that you go your own way on your channel. Pound pavement. We're here for you. ❤
I think you mean acid rather than acidic. Alum is technically not an acid. However, alum solutions are slightly acidic due to the aluminium ions being able to create an acidic pH environment. What is a bit confusing is that ADP solutions are also acidic. Presumably, adding alum to ADP shifts the equilibrium by adjusting the pH slightly to allow the crystallization of a different compound, perhaps diammonium hydrogen phosphate?
I am definitely enjoying the crystal videos, love science and had no idea how to even go about starting to do this. Thank you so very much for sharing everything. God blessed julie , you have a great day
I think your explanation of the impurities is pretty much why the tips went white. Now we need to figure out how to make it holographic ha ha. Wouldn’t it look great? I’d love to see a huge one. Much bigger container left for perhaps a month or so. Can’t wait for the next instalment. 🇦🇺❤️
Definitely love the crystal growing videos Julie, it is so awesome to see scientific stuff❤
More videos with growing crystals please! Hello from Mexico
Love seeing crystals grow. I did a little scrolling forward cuz I recognized the beginning as a repost. But hit perfectly where you explained that and moved on! No more scrolling from there lol. I'm starting to feel like I need to try my childhood hobby out again. Attempting crystals from random things instant coffee... Sugar... Salt... Etc. since I know a little more from watching your recent videos.❤ Love how you got the longer crystals this time
LOL! I thought I was imagining things (haven't I seen this before?!?). TY for clearing up the mystery! 😅👍💕
@@fairyspunfibers9098 lol yeah I had that is dejavu yes or dejavu no moment too lol why I'm glad I kept scrolling till I saw something different. 🙂 So no you were not alone in that
And just for the record, I quite liked the white tips; it makes them stand out a bit!
Would the crystals take darker colours, like purple?
I'm loving all your crystal making videos 💎🤩💖
This is so Awesome Julie 🎉 I am enjoying the crystal growing videos. ❤❤🎉🎉
That is so cool!
Absolutely amazing
Goodness! What a sea urchin that one's grown into. Very impressive piece.
Congrats! Beautiful!❤
I can really see this on a small painting! It would make it really different. These are so much more beautiful than I anticipated! Great job!!!
Oh, this is just *GORGEOUS,* Julie! ❤😍 Do it again! Maybe a deeper and bigger container, and...purple colorant? Ooooh, that'd be amazing! 💕😊
I love the crystals they are very interesting I never had much luck with growing them
Very cool!
Great job, Julie! Can't wait to see what you come up with next.
Wow, you did it. Amazing results. Beautiful ❤
Julie, this was interesting. Loved the video😊
Really pretty shape. Thanks for sharing this tutorial ❤
O wow just beautiful ❤
Oh Wow! That turned out amazing.Julie! I love this. 💗 Congratulations!.😍 💃💃💃
Topping up the solution would change the new growth because it is not as old as the first solution… maybe?🤔 Just a theory but what an awesome job and results
Your nails look fabulous!!
Very pretty!
This is amazing! Can’t wait to see you use these once you perfect in like a geode piece! So exciting ❤
THIS IS AWESOME CHICA! Very , very well done YAAAAAY!❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😊!!!! BEAUTIFUL 😍!!!!!!❤❤❤❤
Awesome , I can't wait to try this. I did a couple of things with Borax, but this is so much better. I love the fact that you are willing to do the testing for all of us in your beautiful studio. Thank you for all that you do. Give your fur babies a hug from me, I think that I will have some Shih Tzu puppies in a couple of months, I can't wait
Hola que lindos cristales haces con piedra alumbre gracias ❤
Omg, I think you have done fabulous job, it's beautiful , much love, S Wales, UK
wow crystal sea urchin :D 👌
I just love watching you grow these crystals & I gotta admit , Julie your excitement is quite contagious! Love it! Very beautiful! Wonder how they would look with color? ❤
It's beautiful! It's had a French Manicure on it's tips!
Wow what a beautiful crystal. It will be interesting to see what can he done with it.
Wow. Very cool. I’ll have grandsons again in April for a week. They’ll love this project. Very cool indeed. As always ❤❤❤ your tutorials. Have been blah with tons of medical tests. Hopefully almost done. 🥰
Very cool! It looks like a sea urchin 🤣. Maybe my son will try this with the kiddos. They’ve done rock candy and it turned out great. Thanks Julie 👏👍😊
So very very cool ❤❤
Maybe you have like a thrift store kind of thing near you? Here in the Netherlands they always have lots of glass items, and that doesn’t cost much. ❤ thanks for sharing this video, love your enthusiasm always
I recall watching at least one video you made while this was sitting by doing its thing!
Very cool!❤❤🎉
Hi love your art videos hey are easy to follow and you are funny as well so it makes for easy watching & learning . Have you thought of hanging strands of cotton on a pencil laid across your glass lip , I wonder if crysta,s would grow on your piece,s of cotton ??? UK 🇬🇧 . xxxxxxx .
Cool.❤❤❤
Amazing. ❤❤
very cool
Miss Julie this video is awesome I absolutely loved it. I could never do it I do not have the patience I think. But I very much enjoyed watching you, very pretty . I see what you're saying about the white on the tips but it's still very beautiful.❤
Cute, porcupine crystals ❤. I remember growing a salt crystal when I was at school. I'm sure it had to be suspended on a hair strand in the solution while it was growing.
Love it
this is really cool
It’s a girl!!! So beautiful absolutely amazing!
i found out that you get different crystals depending on the container you use...pretty neat you should try
Perhaps you could try adding colors to your solution and see what happens. This so fun to watch.❤
Loved this tutorial, at last someone who properly explains how to do it. Thanks so much xxx
I love the little experiments you have been doing!
You're probably right about impurities causing cloudiness. The slower the crystals grow and less disturbance will create clearer crystals as well. Put them in a place that doesn't experience much vibration and has a stable temperature.
Using distilled water will make things a bit better.
You can also get rid of impurities by recrystallizing. So you let it crystallize, crush up the crystals, and dissolve them again. The more you do this, the fewer impurities there will be. Impurities will be left behind in the solution each time.
Make sure to use distilled water for the best results, though.
So coo
Wow❤❤❤
Julie, maybe you should try leaving the solution in the measuring cup as it cools down so when you pour it to put your seeds in there won't be crystals on the bottom already? That way any crystal growing will be attached to your seed and not on the already growing stuff on the bottom.
In USA, we call then coolers and also ice chests.
They are beautiful! One suggestion I have is to wear disposable gloves.🤞
This is my first Crystal creation video. And it looks like magic! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Take my breath 😮❤🥰🤩👍
Or even your spray varnish, just carefully tape off or shower cap the tips till dry.
I love it!❤the first one is lovely too! Could you make a mould with the chunky crystal or would it disintegrate? These experiments are fascinating! ☺️
Awww..
I love your crystals... fascinating to watch.. can colours be added? ❤😊
Deja vu....
Thank God, I'm not crazy!!!!! LoL
Me too I thought I was losing my mind. And looked to see how long ago it had been posted because this looks like a video she put out before but not with the long spiky ones just a smaller round one
I was looking for my reply from the last one lol thank goodness I’m not gone crazy too 😂
I did all these things too! I think the first half, roughly, of the video was reused!? ❤️🇦🇺
Julie never answers comments have you noticed? 🇦🇺❤️
In the states, a lot of seafood shops have those boxes
I love how both of them came out. Can you give us the measurements for the ingredients or where to find them? Thank you for doing these experiments.
It looks like a crystal sea urchin. It’s gorgeous ❤
I think it is beautiful...you are too harsh on yourself...for just beginning, I think you are doing great....
Looks like a waterlily
That is sooooooo cool. I didn't realize that they were so delicate. Do they eventually get harder? xoxooxoxxoox
These are so pretty! Do they strengthen after a bit or do they stay fragile? Just wondering if they could be used to make silicone molds for resin!
Would be cool to see a time lapse of this growing
You said earlier the top of the water was cloudy, if you top it of it will push cloudiness down into the water changing the quality of crystal growth
Cute
Good Day! Your Channel is really great, i love it. I have a question. Where can i buy these Svarovski Crystals? Thanks in advance. Nice greetings from Germany.
In the UK we'd call an. Eski a 'cool box'
Have you tried Borax I've seen area people use t for growing crystals on plastic sculls and added food colours they were amazing . UK 🇬🇧 . xxxxxxx
You read a liquid in a cup from the "bottom of the meniscus". The meniscus is the arch made by the liquid.
THAT IS SO SO COOL!! Have tons of alum, will need to find this. Would you find it at a nursery? I did see 1 brand in Amazon
Not sure in your country
Maybe adding a top up you could sneak in some colour to add effects vs white
Maybe I'm just cheap but why not use recycled glass jars? like jam jars with wide mouths. Also, when I'm baking bread, to keep stuff warm while it rises you can place a towel over the jar. There's also insulated fabric if you want a slow cooling.
That came out really nice. I bet if you tinted your top up solution with a pink, it would of been gorgeous... unless it would leave a pink dusty film over everything, but it looks like it would only color the tips and give you a 2 tone effect? don't know.
Julie, you can make distilled water by boiling the water for five minutes then cover while cooling. ❤Laura
I think it requires a smaller empty pan in the center of the pan of water.. and then as the water boils the distilled pure steam/water falls off the inside of the lid into the smaller pan. The videos I saw showed the lid had bumps in it for the water to drop off of. It’s been a while since I have seen that but it’s a bit more than boiling water. Boiling water will kill off germs in so many minutes but the minerals will remain. Might wanna have a look at some chemist videos to make sure I remember that right 🤔❤ Happy Arting!
Awesome! I've done borax crystals before, but always wondered if there was a way to make them bigger like this... Is there any way to make them stronger so they can be added to resin or molded?
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Se puede poner color a la lumbre se vería mas fabuloso en turquesa violeta amarillo ❤❤❤❤❤gracias 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Wow 😮 You should film the growth while ur not there then put it on a time lapse so we can see it growing x
I can't record for 24 hours
@@PouringYourHeartOut aww what a shame it’s amazing x
How are your fingers and nails doing after working with those components?
can the colour be changed? like by adding something? I'm so invested 😍
😊😊❤
