Did you realize you would be bringing out the mad scientist in yourself when you started working with resin!?! I enjoyed watching your tests and watching all your videos! Thank you!
A longer video is always worth the watch time when you learn as many lessons as we did here. Thank you so much for taking the time and making the effort to show us the whole process… including what not to do! Much love from Brisbane, Australia. ♥️♥️🇦🇺
I’m going to try this today so a PERFECT video for me. Thanks for showing me the do’s and don’t! I also like listening to you without the background music.
Thanks, you have inspired me with a good idea. Take a medium-large plastic christmas bauble and cut it vertically, slightly more than halfway to retain the hanger. Lay it with the cut opening facing up, and fill with the borax solution. Sparkling baubles that will reflect the light nicely like the vintage reflector baubles.
Girl!!!!! You are a sport! Thank you soooooooo much! Your now one of my favs on RUclips. Well, you were before this but you do what I don’t have patience for. I am shocked I love sound resin as patient as you have to be
Very nice I love it at least you try but it came out nice I like it continue experiment. It comes out great and you learn something and you teach us something. Thank you God bless you..
Love this! You could bore some of the middle out of the 2 attempt and put a tall candle in it. I saw a girl do an old book opened up and the whole thing was covered in crystals
You could buy these crystals, the seller and Michael’s and you could put right in the middle glue and do your own design that comes out beautiful I do a lot of creation things too. I just seen a vision that last one is show that it has like little space, you get the clear crystal and you put it around real full a lot and I’ll come out nice, I like all of them very good I’m proud of you girl!
After u make ur first crystals use them as seed crystals, tie some cotton around a seed and put that in the pot and take it out whenever it looks like u want it to, there r other types of crystals that u can make to using different chemicals
I would sonot throw away thw vase! I'd sand the sharp bit, dye the crystals on the inside & put a votive, tealight candle or battery operated tea light candle in it & make a pretty light decorative piece. ❤ the crystals are so pretty & my daughter very much enjoyed ypur video
Hi Michelle great video, loved seeing your trials 😍, if you leave them in the water & borax for longer you'll get bigger crystals, it's fun to do , ❤ xx
What I use for container glass jars with a large mouth then I make my druzy molds from the crystals that form on the bottom of the jars. But you have to spray the dry bottoms w a clear coating. If you don't clear coat them the crystals will turn white. Then I keep that jar and when I need crystal molds I have it. But you have a gorgeous Christmas ornament just clear coat it. I also make molds for jewelry. You can use resin or PMC precious metal clay to make jewelry but that's a whole different bunny hole. LOL
Hi maybe you can try to use some string and make your circle. If you need to maybe you can sew the round string shape with a needle and thread to hold to shape. Because when you showed use the first one with the string holding the pipe cleaner. That had a lot of crystal on it and you wasn't even trying to. Its just a thought. I hope that it will work ❤❤❤
Hey just cut your vase a bit, colour the crystals purple and you have a faux Amythist druzy vase! It'll look amazing ❤ thank you for your experiments, they are awesome. Unfortunately Borax has been banned in the UK so i cant try it 😢
Hi, I know these where your first trial, so my question: Wouldn't it be easier to pour the Silicone into a small or flat mold or bowl and put the druzy on top? That's the way I do with liquid Silicone. If you have something to lay on, you can choose how deep the druzy will dive into the Silicone and the result will be flat or a little bit bolder.Maybe you want to try it that way and share with us. Thanks for your inspiration and all the work you put in that video!
I wonder if you could use a colored pipe cleaner and shape it into a star or heart, or something like that to put on a Christmas tree , would the color of the pipe cleaner show through the crystals
A druzy is just a silicone "insert" you can add to any project. Once it is cured you remove your druzy and you will have a crystal like effect in the piece. I have an example at the end of this video so you can see what it does. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for experimenting for us. I want tondo a cristal plate mould but havent a clue how to make one. And u like to now do the crystals after thery made stay solid or do they break down? How many times can u use them. X
I hope you didnt throw the vase out omg. How awesome you could break jt and use the pieces they couldve grown into beautiful clusters. You can keep growing more
Yes they will dissolve in water if they get put in water by themselves. No, I wouldn't use them in resin, just to make inlays with a crystal effect for the inlay.
There are other videos that show more details on how to do this without accidents. Also using a spray adhesive prevents the crystals from turning Opaque and dissolving. Search RUclips for Borax Flowers.
How long did you leave the second one in compared to the first one? I've made 2 of these and I can't seem to accomplish large crystals. I can still see the pipe cleaner lines on mine. So how long did you leave each one in please?
I haven’t made theses since the video a long time ago. If I didn’t mention any specific water then for sure normal water. I don’t recall getting any specific kind now that I think about it.
You keep mentioning a drewsy? What exactly is that. I'm looking at doing the borax crystal stuff for Christmas presents this year due to tight budgets.
I may be missing your point. But isn't the original pipe cleaner crystallization beautiful enough? Easier and cheaper than the silicone. I might be missing what you're accomplish with those molds. The pipe cleaner is best to me...🥴
Alum works alot better than borax. If you want to coat a piece , use water-resistant glue pour some alum (or borax) on it and then put it in the saturated solution. Wait 24 hours if you want more crystals take it out make more solution wait for it to cool otherwise the crystals devolve. Once youre happy with the outcome spray clear varnish over it that way your crystals don't stick to your silicone and it will stay how it is you also can display it as a crystal
@glitznglitterbymichelle1 I bought mine online but I don't live in the same country as you. I know that pouring your heart out made videos with alum and it has a scientific name maybe you can look for that.
this is b.s.! you have nice crystals 4 a week- then they turn into dendrite snowballs! air drying for home made crystals- i was scrubing my window sills 4 a week! lmao!

Druzy mold, I think. Just making pretty crystals is cool as well.

Great video Michelle also love your fur babies 👍👍👍
Thanks so much 😊
Not garbage! put on its side and build a fairy garden a few tiny pebbles, twigs , moss ect. I picture amazing possibilities.
I Like That Idea.
Thank you! Like you said, this was a learning experience, which is what I came for. 👍
Glad it was helpful! 😊

I message you on ur other video. I just made a borax druzy mold from a silicone mold awesome it worked thank you
Awesome tutorial, Ty , ❤❤

Il est très bien réussi le 3 eme 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Why would they ban Borax?? The same reason they banned glitter! What are they trying to stop all the crafters from crafting geesh...
That was fascinating

What a great tip!
Try using Ritz dye
How did I miss this video, I always look for you. 🤦♂️
🤷♀️😁
I wonder if you could use a colored pipe cleaner and shape it into a star or heart, or something like that to put on a Christmas tree , would the color of the pipe cleaner show through the crystals
Pipe cleaners come in all colors, maybe just use white to make sure they don’t show through or use a color close to your food coloring you choose.
Wow nice make a druzy mold
With the druzy work with all the holes?
Yes, it gives it a crystal like look holes and all.
So fun watching all your trials! Looks like a sea urchin. Define druzy>
A druzy is just a silicone "insert" you can add to any project. Once it is cured you remove your druzy and you will have a crystal like effect in the piece. I have an example at the end of this video so you can see what it does. Thanks for watching!
They say after u meet the crystals you need to spray coat it with a sealer
Cloth dye works better than food coloring. I would love to try some resin but I can't find any of it around my location. Im in state of Tennessee.
Amazon is the best place to get it..
Thank for sharing is this a safe product to work with do you need to wear your PPE. Thanks
Silicone is safe to touch, it’s just in liquid form.
@@glitznglitterbymichelle1 I michell i was talking about the borax. It's the first im hearing about it. Thanks
Oh sorry ! Yes borax is just a laundry soap, totally safe!
@glitznglitterbymichelle1 Thanks, im going to try it. It looks like fun
Thank you for experimenting for us. I want tondo a cristal plate mould but havent a clue how to make one. And u like to now do the crystals after thery made stay solid or do they break down? How many times can u use them. X
They didn’t last that long intact so if you make them use them within a few weeks or months for best results.
I hope you didnt throw the vase out omg. How awesome you could break jt and use the pieces they couldve grown into beautiful clusters. You can keep growing more
Maybe try tightly coiling pipe cleaners in the bottom of a yogurt lid or something like that if you need it deeper put duct tape around edge
Can you scrape the crystals off the vase and use them for somthing.
I don’t think so, they didn’t last as long as I thought they would
Where do you get the silicone it’s liquid where do you get it?
Let’s resin brand is what I use
will crystals form on plastic?
I tried to use an old piece of resin to form crystals on and it didn't work
If the crystals get wet want the dissolve in water and can they be used in resin for coasters???
Yes they will dissolve in water if they get put in water by themselves. No, I wouldn't use them in resin, just to make inlays with a crystal effect for the inlay.

Oh goodness! This video was done a year ago, if I didn't say in the video, I'm thinking it was 24 hours.
If you put hot glue around the tape on the 3rd trial it wont leak for sure just a quick tip
Thanks!
Thank you!
You're welcome!
The left over crystals in the container, what would happen if you just put them into the resin?
Wouldn’t work they are filled with water and they won’t last.
🙏 THANK YOU 🙏
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Can it be normal water pls say yes or no
I haven’t made theses since the video a long time ago. If I didn’t mention any specific water then for sure normal water. I don’t recall getting any specific kind now that I think about it.
I wonder how Epson salts would work!
I’m not sure 🤔
You keep mentioning a drewsy? What exactly is that. I'm looking at doing the borax crystal stuff for Christmas presents this year due to tight budgets.
It the word they use for the little silicone inlay that has a crystal look to it when removed from the resin.
Whats a droozy?
If you set these into wet resin, after curing pull them out for a crystal look.
Very cool!
Cut felt into your shape glue with exterior glue to plastic same shape hang in solution that will work
It’s just a poke and hope all you can do I still like it
Why would you color the Chrystal that you’re going to use to make molds poop color?
I only colored the crystal to see what it would look like color colored no other reason
I made a bunch but didn’t seal them and they all turned white.
Yes mine ended up white too, I had no idea they were supposed to be sealed 🤦♀️
@@glitznglitterbymichelle1
I’m watching one of your videos right now. You just said “We learn from our mistakes”😉
Is this true?😮
Is what true?
The sound went real low. Can't hear, loud music okay though.
Hmmm 🤔 that’s a really old one, I may not have done a good job on editing back then.
I actually loved your video but I must have missed the point I don't get what you were trying to accomplish
I was trying to “grow” crystals to make my own silicone inlays for resin projects.
I may be missing your point. But isn't the original pipe cleaner crystallization beautiful enough? Easier and cheaper than the silicone. I might be missing what you're accomplish with those molds. The pipe cleaner is best to me...🥴
That will not last to keep making inlays they will fall apart
If go around the edge with a glue gun that will keep it from leaking.
Felt circle

it seems like crystals kept growing after the process was done, i even sealed them with a high gloss accrylic spray. 🤥@@glitznglitterbymichelle1
It didn’t work because you didn’t follow the proper steps.
? Which steps did I miss?
