The fact this game gets so much hate breaks my heart. Its my favorite game of all time and i really dont understand how anyone can look at this masterpiece and go eh nah. Like how??!
It makes no sense what so ever. A lot of the hate just comes from those who just miss that turn based crap!!!

There's some legit complaints from people who were expecting more classic rpg elements. Exploration, crafting, etc didn't really have a lot of variety/good rewards other than basic new weapons/etc. Overall story for main game felt like some sections were out of order or would have worked better later on or sooner. Still a lot to really like about the game, though.
Awesome game but somewhay mediocre Final Fantasy. Character designs are grim and repetitive (most characters use swords, no sexy, revealing outfits, every party character is a human or dog so no moogles or other species), you cannot play as other characters, there are limited interactions between the main party members, no funny or lighthearted moments, etc.
@@hotdogs8170 wtf are you talking about, im the biggest ff fan and literally none of what you say is accurate have we played the same game?
Edit okay not none but most fair enough
I loved it, i finished it, and I still love it :). The sad part for me was precisely that... it doesnt matter if he had Leviathan or not... everything is the same so in that aspect is like "well, what was the purpouse of this then???", but anyway is awesome, the Eikonik battle was mind blowing, the music, amazing the challenge i loved it, i am seriously going to miss this bunch
FFXVI is one of my personal favorite video games, I’m a huge combat and spectacle nerd, especially when epic music is involved. Guess I’ll just have to get a PC soon to play FF16 a different way.
There might be a third dlc
I did the barrier like ten times I barely got almost under a second
i am waiting for the PC version as well as getting my hands on the ultiamania book for ownership purposes.
If 16 2 happens I would buy it.
That sounds great, but how will that even work ? Clive is assumed to be dead, Josh still alive ?? and no more mother crystals and magick thanks to Clive.
this game makes me want more, in a good way. I get where ppl can be critical, although I think this game has opened up a new avenue in which the FF series and Square Enix can offer. Yea, the purple skies really take away from how beautiful the game is (I'm sure that can be modded out in the PC version) and this DLC was a good reminder of how much of a spectacle this game can be. The Omega and the Timekeeper boss fights are two of my favourite fights in recent games and I wanted more of it. Watching some of the "combo mad" vids makes me pick up the controller and try to add in the insane combos I'm seeing better gamers pull off. I just wish there was more opportunities for it. As for the base enemies or fodder, the combo timing was more of a challenge than the move set or attack pattern of a given enemy but hey, maybe that was the point. Again, this is all positive, I think Square Enix found something good with this game and I think it can be improved in upcoming titles. I had a lot of fun, happy to see others did as well.
Why did this game flop ? It’s a great game , why didn’t it sell well ?
It didn’t flop
@@zacatkinson3926 why is the dev team disbanding ? And why aren’t we getting a sequel ? It’s a good game
@@Advorsaeresdocetonly 2 FF games in history have gotten sequals, FF10 and FF7.
I'd wager most who worked on 16 will start working on FF17 or 18 right away.
@@Mukation FF13, which is horrible
@@Advorsaeresdocet i even forgot it lol
I think FF16 had one of the best stories of all of the FF games. 10 is still the best, though.
Character wise, 7 has the best and most interesting, but 10 and 16 has the better story.
That being said, the 2 DLCs were really lackluster. Echoes of the fallen was little more than a polished combat simulator, a real let down.
Atleast Rising tide had a compelling reason, with Waljan being a baby that was denied a life and you obviously wanted to save him. But it was quite freaking short, no more than a few hours of gameplay.
The base game was in my opinion amazing, i loved the story and the concepts of Dominants and how use of magic was slowly killing the world and the ones wielding it and i liked Ultima as a cosmic horror god.
One of my favorite games of all time and it's objectively really good. I don't give a shit about nostalgia or traditions, this was my first ff and sure as hell won't be my last.
They may do a third they talked about it last month
God i really hope they do
Im still behind, maybe once I complete my journey with Rebirth I will sit down and finish 16. But my brother liked it, and he bought this dlc. He liked it so maybe it is worth checking out.
😢😢😢 would love a FFXVI-2
Bruh i just want to see clive and jill happy
No such luck
Final Fantasy XVI possesses a complex battle system that simplistic minds cannot fathom. Easily, surface-levelheaded folks will write it off as another hack and slash game. Those who dive deeper will truly appreciate the algorithm the combat mechanics offer. The patterns switches up and gets more interesting for Kairos Gate.
You have to be patient with the Leviathan fight. Don't just rush in and try to maul him.
I'm really sad this game got stuck between Tears of the Kingdom and Baldur's Gate 3. Its one of several games this year that if it had come out any other year it would've been the best and most talked about game.
They could still do a Gilgamesh DLC (amongst others).
Bought it and loved it. I may have missed it in your vid, but there's also the rogue lite mode they added to the Arete Stone which was probably my favorite part of the DLC just because of the challenge that it did add to the game.
Clive tells Joshua that Ultima called Leviathan defiled which Joshua also assumes might be a reason he didn't send him to Leviathan. He thought he was tainted by the humans trying to utilize his power for their means.
FFXVI IS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL
Really fun discussion.
Happy for those that enjoyed this game. I did not.
Same, this game is kinda barebones. Even other games with easy combat typically have other activities like races and mini games to keep the gameplay fresh and works to develop its characters when the plot drags. This game lacks variety and deep characterisation
yeppp… it was pretty ass story wise
@@wawztzta8296Nah. More like side quest wise
@ErenDenizMert Considering how much main story content was just mandatory side quests, it's one and the same, really.
@@mattappl3119 lol no
Game was trash. Every bit was forgettable.
This is a great game ruined by shallow combat , terrible side quests and story pacing that makes you wanna fall asleep
WHAT??!??
@@holmes7077 ditto
Shallow combat?? The other critics I agree with but the combat ??
